It is 10, and so far I have had a bagel, a yogurt, and a handful of almonds. I went to the gym and worked out for an hour, can't believe how out of shape I am! 20 minutes on the elliptical about killed me!
Avatar m tn sure, but not a lot. In almonds, I think its around 4 carbs per 20 or so nuts. Still a great addition to a low carb lifestyle for sure.

If you take 250 mg at each meal that is 750 mg a day, the limit is 2400mg a day so you have room to go up on the Met. It can take 6 to 8 weeks for met to become fully effective.
Avatar f tn Test his BG before he eats and 1 hour after. for many people they get reactive hypoglycemia. They eat BG rises high then the pancreas makes insulin and too much so BG goes down too far. Many that have reactive hypos end up developing diabetes. so it is a good idea to keep on top of it. also carbohydrates raise BG " almonds, boiled eggs and tomatoes" not many carbs in that. the oatmeal would have a lot of carbs and a lot of carbs can cause a reactive hypo. also is you meter good?
Avatar f tn I was told to est every 2 hours, even if it is kust a piece of fruit or a handful of almonds. Greek yogurt is also another great blood sugar stabilizer. I would talk to your Dr. though just to make sure.

Fruits and veggies both have fiber (complex carb), plus there's whole wheat bread, oatmeal, cereals, etc. Simple carbs enter your blood stream very quickly and your blood sugar spikes, then all of a sudden it crashes and you hit rock bottom, get that weak, shaky, maybe even light headed feeling. By staying with the protein and complex carbs, you can help avoid that.

Yogurt and an apple, whole wheat toast and an egg, oatmeal with almonds are all things that should help you stay full in the morning. Fresh fruits and veggies cleaned and washed in the fridge are a must. I do it once a week so I have them all week. You can eat them all day if you need to but I found that I needed to break myself of the habit of eating continuously.
