carb

Avatar f tn Whole grain cereal Fruit and yogurt Whole grain toast with peanut butter, fruit Hard boiled egg As long as you stay with complex carbs, which are those in whole grains, veggies, fruits, such as apples pears, etc.you should be okay. The complex carbs are the ones that provide fiber to keep you feeling fuller longer. Also be sure to get plenty of protein with every meal. Eggs and whole grains are excellent sources of protein, as is dairy.
Avatar f tn Suggest in place of milk (milk, fruit, and ice cream blended) or yogurt smoothies (yogurt, milk, and frozen fruit blended). Add dry milk to oatmeal, mashed potatoes, gravies, creamed vegetables, and creamed soups (add additional meats to soups). This will give him additional calories and protein for weight gain. Use all regular dairy products and no low fat foods so he gets the calories he needs. Hoped this helped you.

8867510 tn?1400309344 t. Simply drink water instead of soda. Eat whole grain bread instead of white. Have some frozen yogurt instead of ice cream. Your body will get used to these changes and it will quickly become normal. I believe in a change in lifestyle rather than a diet. Best of luck!
594189 tn?1386916607 I agree that you need to not eat simple carbs (white sugar, flour, rice, etc), but your body needs the complex carbs (whole grains, nuts, legumes, fruits, veggies, etc) in order to function properly. Complex carbs are one of the things that help fill us up and keep us feeling fuller longer. Protein also helps keep us feeling fuller.
Avatar n tn ll eat a yogurt, make a glass of chocolate milk with an extra spoonful of nesquik in it (the milk is healthy, right?), eat a frozen yogurt, etc. There is actually a technical reason, in PMS, the hormone cortisol spikes and serotonin dips. This change up/fluctuation causes the craving. It's all hormonally based -- we crave sugar and fried foods during this time because of this.

Avatar f tn m 46 and 35kg overweight, I have just invested in a cardiotech treadmill and the t-zone vibration machine. how can I get the best results, should I cut out all carbs in my diet, and would those replacement shakes b an option.
Avatar n tn Carbs raise BG so restricting carbs will help BG. when you say 6 units I assume you mean 6 exchanges which is 90 gr of carbs. If you take 250 mg at each meal that is 750 mg a day, the limit is 2400mg a day so you have room to go up on the Met. It can take 6 to 8 weeks for met to become fully effective.
Avatar f tn if you can stick to it for 3-7 days, you will feel a noticeable change in your body. If you have to have carbs, do the healthy kind, but really give it a try, just for a couple of weeks. It is a great jump start for any diet and you will feel your belly seem instantly less bloated and feel less hungry and munchy all of the time. Eat lots of fiber to stay full. Good luck!
392430 tn?1382904781 I have a stick blender and I just blend it right in the quart size yogurt container and store in the fridge. For veggies I use frozen squash, peas, carrots, spinach, baked sweet potato. For fruit I have a frozen mix from Costco that has peaches, strawberry, honeydew melon and pineapple. It is a huge bag for about $6.
Avatar f tn I have serious sweets cravings alot too. I try to at least make sure that whatever I'm eating is low in something, either fat or sugar or carbs. Like angel food cake is fat free and I'll dip it in fat free cool whip. It still has alot of carbs. But it's better than eating a big piece of chocolate cake that's got the carbs and the fat. (Warning: do NOT get the fat free AND sugar free angel food cake tho! i got severe gas and gas pains for like 24 hours!!!
Avatar f tn Try nutrient dense drinks 2-3 a day, either purchase them, such as Ensure or Boost, or make your own milkshakes - milk, ice cream, and frozen fruit blended or yogurt smoothies - yogurt, milk, and frozen fruit blended for additional calories, protein and nutrients to help increase your weight. If your weight does not slowly increase from above, suggest going to your doctor to get your thyroid checked. Hoped that helped you.
730826 tn?1317943334 I encourage everyone to try it. Chapmans frozen yogurt is 60 calories per 1/2 cups o I know that I can either have that, or not even a whole lindt ball for that amount. Hmm one bit or 10? 10!! By the way, frozen yogurt, low call is the way to go, have it when you want Ice cream, it makes a difference.
Avatar f tn White carbs (white bread, flour pasta, crackers, white rice, pastries, donuts, etc) Sugar (no white or brown sugar, no sugar substitutes, no honey) No soda (no regular or diet soda) No fruit juice (unless organic, all natural and unsweetened) No energy drinks, gatorade etc.
Avatar m tn I am pregnant and have bought haagen dazs frozen yogurt yesterday. As I was enjoying it, I saw a red thingy in my vanilla yogurt, which should not had been there. I actually saw it on my spoon, and the reason I looked at it is that it tasted weird ( but not salty nor it had metal taste to it) . At first I saw nothing of it, but then saw a story about that Canadian family that needed to taste for HIV after finding a catheter in theie ice cream. So my question is this.
579258 tn?1250649343 The yogurt has protein to help keep me full and they both have carbs to give me energy. All the fiber in the fiber bar helps keep me from getting hungry too. I also need at least one meal of the day to be really easy or I'll eat things I shouldn't. I cook for everybody all day and if breakfast wasn't mindless I think I would skip it. Which we all know is a big NO NO! No dirty dishes, unless you count the spoon and I can eat it in the car.
Avatar f tn If you do eventually stay away from milk based food as part of your lifestyle at some point try either a small amount of yogurt or frozen yogurt "icecream" as yogurt based dairy food presents far fewer problems for us lactose intolerant folks. I'm thoroughly lactose intolerant yet I can have a half scoop of frozen yogurt (when my friends are diving into their icecream cones) and I have no problems! Check out Ben & Jerry's frozen yogurt.
1648058 tn?1330927302 Frozen yogurt does not have the life cultures in it that regular yogurt does. It wont regulate your PH balance.
Avatar n tn Healthy would be lots of vegetables (even if you buy frozen and nuke them), low carbs - such as only 1 piece of bread per day, very little to no sugar and lean meats. And regular exercise. My concept of a healthy breakfast would be vegetables, such as California blend of carrots, broccoli and cauliflour, top with a couple cooked eggs and some fresh salsa (such as pico de gallo). I also do a veggie drink made in my vitamix - kale, spinach, ginger, lemin juice, cilantro and an apple.
Avatar f tn If u feel u must eat something, try frozen blueberries. One ounce is only 16 calories and since they are frozen they take more time to eat. Best snack by far! U can also search 10 calorie snacks and find a list of things like two strawberries, one peanut m&m. Sometimes thst tiny lil bit is all it takes.
1027304 tn?1333973406 low carbs and high protein... I use frozen bananas, frozen strawberries or another fruit and Greek yogurt & Whey... love them... I'm not pregnant but trying to get that way!!! Was wondering if this means I need to stop making smoothies with the Whey protein???
Avatar n tn I do cheese sticks.
Avatar n tn Hopefully it will increase her interest in food. Suggest giving her milkshakes (ice cream, fresh fruit or frozen fruit, milk) or yogurt smoothies (yogurt, fresh fruit, and frozen fruit) instead of formula and for additional calories, protein, and vitamins and minerals. She can help make them, too. For her age infant formula will not provide the nutrients she needs. The most important thing is to RELAX. Let her eat what she wants.
