Offhand I dont know the net carb of an apple but you can look that up and think about it. When the sugar levels in your blood are too high, the blood becomes abrasive to your body. If you eat all of your carbs all at once, your blood sugar will go higher than if you ration it out over the course of a day.
Avatar m tn Morgan only eats Honeycomb ceral or toaster strudel for breakfest, pizza at school for lunch, chicken nuggets or spaghettios with meatballs for dinner, and that is about it. She will drink milk(chocolate or strawberry). Water with flavors. I can not honestly think of anything else. OK an occasional apple or grapes, or a dognut. This forces me to make something different for her at every meal. I want to turn this kid around to a well balanced eater.

Opt for the complex carbs such as whole grains, veggies, etc and eliminate simple carbs like sugary foods and those made from white flour/rice. I agree that several "mini meals" might be best for you, in order to keep you full all day.

I would certainly consider adding both of these things to my diet if they would assist. Do you have any advice?
Avatar f tn Reduce the carbs you eat. I took out bread as this started to cause me trouble and replaced with homemade alternatives. One of which was banana pancakes made with ground down almond instead of flour. Delicious!

Avatar n tn t always wake up at the same time, but when I wake up I have a pop tart or a toaster strudel to perk my sugars up (if I don't have sugar right away my morning sickness will last all day, freaking su cks) and then after I make sure that stays good and down I usually have a grilled cheese or a blt. Or depending on what we had for dinner last night, left overs.

The only true difference between a piece of fruit and table sugar is fiber and vitamins as far as your body is concerned.
Avatar m tn when you eat a carb (yes fruits are carbs) eat it with a protein. An apple with a cheese stick or peanut butter. Find KIND bars at walmart. They are almost like eating a candy bar (I buy the dark chocolate ones) only 17g of carbs and only like 6 ingredients in them. A very good snack. I eat every two to three hours. The nutritionist said to try to stay around 45g of carbs for each meal and 15-20g for snacks depending on how many you eat each day. I eat 3 meals and 2-3 snacks a day. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Also ate a toaster strudel and one of the flakes ended up scratching my throat a little bit but didn't feel any pain immediately after. Only felt pain last night around 11 or 12 after I smoked 2 hits.

Tbd Avoid all sweet fruits and all starchy vegetables. Even a medium sized apple has about 20g of carbs. Small amounts of berries are often considered to be low carb. Green leafy vegetables and low carb vegetables are fine. This will include lettuce, cabbage, spinach, asian and western greens, celery, cucumber, tomato, capsicum, green beans, okra, egg plant, and others. Hope this helps.

There are very good charts available online to help you guage the carbohydrates in fresh foods as well. Also try to eat at the same times daily. This will help keep your sugar levels stable and keep from putting a demand on your pancreas from binging because you skip meals or go long periods between eating.

I think what most would advise is to avoid white flour, bagels, sweets, anything that turns to sugar quickly in your system. That's why you're craving sugar -- carbs are necessary for energy, and sugar is quick energy but also stores as fat if not burned immediately. Same with processed carbs.
558728 tn?1275442570 last night I had three snacks I keep waking up because I am hungry at first I ate an apple strudel and some other munchies. then I woke up again I ate bread. the last snack I had I am super tired already that I just drank a glass of milk to keep me from being hungry then went back to bed. And in the morning at 7am I am hungry again so I ate DH's cheerios and milk.
Avatar n tn It says I should be consuming about 130 carbs but it seems to me so many foods contain carbs. An apple and banana are both things I thought was good but they contain carbs that add to my 130. Carrots is another snack I wanted to eat and also has about 10 g.
5306344 tn?1370122121 Watch your carbs... No soda. But sometimes there's nothing you can do about it. I have it. I used to check 4 times a day but levels are good enough to only check once a day. It's not as bad as people think, it makes you healthier, in my opinion! Good luck.
