Apple slices with peanut butter might be a good snack; apple with an ounce of cheese; cottage cheese with tomato slices; 2 tablespoons of sunflower seeds; 3 ounces of grilled chicken; half an avacado with a couple of wheat crackers. We store fats and carbs, but not protein. You want to have plenty of protein, but don't for get the good fats and whole grain carbs to aid in satiety.

Many people report losing quite a few pounds with just this one change. Make sure you eat high quality, lean protein with every meal and snack. A good snack might be an apple with peanut butter, where the apple is the fiber and the peanut butter is the protein.
Avatar n tn Apple cider vinegar is good in the fact it is rich in minerals. I would drink a lot of distilled water with three tablespoons of acv added to a gallon. I would suggest a hair sample analysis to see how off balance you are with minerals and supplement as necessary. If you take acv straight up it can and will erode the enamel off your teeth. I would suggest chromium and other minerals for balance.
Tbd Hi, the best way to avoid diabetes is to eat a diet that is low in carbohydrates, adequate in protein, and adequate in healthy fats. Please note that this way of eating is the opposite to that which has usually been promoted for 'health' which is low fat, high carb, and moderate protein.

I have weight trained for 10 years and know how to manipulate my fat percentage and it is all about when and how much carbs I am playing around with www.bodybuilding.com is a great site to find out about macronutients I am not saying that pasta, rice, breads are unhealthy, but we tend to take 3 cups of pasta instead of 1 cup. Avatar f tn Did this person tell you to cut all carbs, or just simple carbs? Vegetables are carbs. Fruit are carbs. Whole grains are carbs. Beans are a combination of protein and carbs. I think what most would advise is to avoid white flour, bagels, sweets, anything that turns to sugar quickly in your system. That's why you're craving sugar -- carbs are necessary for energy, and sugar is quick energy but also stores as fat if not burned immediately. Same with processed carbs.

Avatar f tn 15 grams of carbohydrates is equal to 1 carb count. Try to limit your carbs to 4 carbs or 60 grams per meal. And 2 carbs per snack. There are very good charts available online to help you guage the carbohydrates in fresh foods as well. Also try to eat at the same times daily. This will help keep your sugar levels stable and keep from putting a demand on your pancreas from binging because you skip meals or go long periods between eating.

7712902 tn?1393734882 s healthy carbs because it has fiber and great vitamins but you must take in to consideration they are still Carbohydrates and your body treats all simple carbs the same. 1 apple yields about 20-30 carbs, a banana is about 30+, and most fruits are similar. The only true difference between a piece of fruit and table sugar is fiber and vitamins as far as your body is concerned.
Avatar n tn It says I should be consuming about 130 carbs but it seems to me so many foods contain carbs. An apple and banana are both things I thought was good but they contain carbs that add to my 130. Carrots is another snack I wanted to eat and also has about 10 g.

I've also heard that drinking Grape Seed Extract with water, and wiping the itchy areas with Apple Cider vinegar helps. as a last ditch effect you might want to get something from the doctor, but the down side of this is a lot of medications will also kill off the good bacteria in your intestines, lweaving you with an imbalance.

Avatar m tn when you eat a carb (yes fruits are carbs) eat it with a protein. An apple with a cheese stick or peanut butter. Find KIND bars at walmart. They are almost like eating a candy bar (I buy the dark chocolate ones) only 17g of carbs and only like 6 ingredients in them. A very good snack. I eat every two to three hours. The nutritionist said to try to stay around 45g of carbs for each meal and 15-20g for snacks depending on how many you eat each day. I eat 3 meals and 2-3 snacks a day. Good luck!

Avatar f tn Even the green vegetables have carbs. Almost everything has carbs in it. I lost 30 pounds in 2 months and was feeling healthy and energised, and great. Of course this might not be for everyone (such us people who have blood sugar problems). And "yes" after 10 days of no sugar , you should make it a lifestyle not to use simple sugars.

Avatar n tn I just had my 1-hr glucose screening test last Thursday. I was told not to fast at all. I did eat before I went to the appointment. I also had an apple & 2 cookies that day as well before my appointment. I ended failing the test. :( The cutoff was 139 and my result was 141. Now I have to go tomorrow to take the 3-hour test. I think it was the cookies (stupid me!!) and apple that pushed me over. Thoughts? I really doubt that I have gestational diabetes.

He ate all of it except for some steak, a little bit of apple sauce, and a few green beans. To correct his low blood sugar we gave him 1 serving of gummy bears (15 g carbs) and waited 15 min then gave 1 more serving of gummy bears. And then tested him 2 hours later. When we tested him he was at 181.
