Avatar m tn Hi, with regards to eating fruit, I would say that it depends on your blood sugar response. If your blood sugar stays in target range when you eat an apple, or a portion of an apple, then you are fine. If i makes you go high, then best to avoid fruits. Alternative fruits such as berries and kiwi fruit tend to have less blood glucose impact compared to other sweet fruits. Size of serving also makes a difference. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Apple cider vinegar is good in the fact it is rich in minerals. I would drink a lot of distilled water with three tablespoons of acv added to a gallon. I would suggest a hair sample analysis to see how off balance you are with minerals and supplement as necessary. If you take acv straight up it can and will erode the enamel off your teeth. I would suggest chromium and other minerals for balance.

Many people report losing quite a few pounds with just this one change. Make sure you eat high quality, lean protein with every meal and snack. A good snack might be an apple with peanut butter, where the apple is the fiber and the peanut butter is the protein.

Avatar f tn Eat salad first in your meal it's low in calories and it makes you full and then instead of eating a 600 calorie burger, maybe switch for vegetables, lean meat et brown rice if yiu see what i mean ?

7712902 tn?1393734882 s healthy carbs because it has fiber and great vitamins but you must take in to consideration they are still Carbohydrates and your body treats all simple carbs the same. 1 apple yields about 20-30 carbs, a banana is about 30+, and most fruits are similar. The only true difference between a piece of fruit and table sugar is fiber and vitamins as far as your body is concerned.

Avatar m tn when you eat a carb (yes fruits are carbs) eat it with a protein. An apple with a cheese stick or peanut butter. Find KIND bars at walmart. They are almost like eating a candy bar (I buy the dark chocolate ones) only 17g of carbs and only like 6 ingredients in them. A very good snack. I eat every two to three hours. The nutritionist said to try to stay around 45g of carbs for each meal and 15-20g for snacks depending on how many you eat each day. I eat 3 meals and 2-3 snacks a day. Good luck!

Avatar f tn Once you start checking your sugars the nutritionist will help you modify if needed. I still have sweets like sugar free jello and whipped cream in a can pretty much no carbs. I have found sugar free cookies. Over thanksgiving I did a Apple pie with splenda and all my readings were fine. Try not to stress the meal plan can take some time to adjust but it's totally worth it in the end. I'm 36 week +1 and had my ultrasound today my little guy is perfect!

Avatar f tn Did this person tell you to cut all carbs, or just simple carbs? Vegetables are carbs. Fruit are carbs. Whole grains are carbs. Beans are a combination of protein and carbs. I think what most would advise is to avoid white flour, bagels, sweets, anything that turns to sugar quickly in your system. That's why you're craving sugar -- carbs are necessary for energy, and sugar is quick energy but also stores as fat if not burned immediately. Same with processed carbs.
Avatar f tn wake up and prick myself to check my fasting sugar level, eat two eggs and half an english muffin, prick myself 2 hours after breakfast, eat a snack which is a small apple and cheese or half a banana and peanut butter. Then lunch ill make a sandwich with turkey, cheese, lots of lettuce, tomatoes and whole wheat bread. Have a glass of milk as well. 2 hours after lunch ill prick myself again. Basically you always need to eat a protein if you are going to have a carb.

Green leafy vegetables and low carb vegetables are fine. Around a year later I was eating an apple and started to feel extremely naseous and ended up throwing it all back up. After throwing up my lips, toungue and throat started to itch and swell up. My eyes became extremely swollen and itchy too. I took an antihistamine and my asthma pump and I was fine.
Avatar n tn It says I should be consuming about 130 carbs but it seems to me so many foods contain carbs. An apple and banana are both things I thought was good but they contain carbs that add to my 130. Carrots is another snack I wanted to eat and also has about 10 g.

5306344 tn?1370122121 Watch your carbs... No soda. But sometimes there's nothing you can do about it. I have it. I used to check 4 times a day but levels are good enough to only check once a day. It's not as bad as people think, it makes you healthier, in my opinion! Good luck.
