If you excersise as well you will look great in a 2 week period. After the 2 weeks just continue to eat healthy - whole grain bread, fruits etc. There you go girl. Hope it was helpful. I have been on this diet and it does miracles.

Avatar f tn Whole wheat bread is wheat that is not milled as much so it contains the wheat fibers (that is why it is darker in color) as opposed to white bread. Soft wheat does not have much fiber as whole wheat bread. Multi-grain and whole grain breads have added grains/seeds, such as oatmeal, and sesame seeds. The label will list the additional 'grains'.

I usually have one slice toasted for breakfast with 2 eggs and cheese (free carbs) of course I'm not an expert, just been learning as I go. I still have quite a ways until my due date. It's a lot of trial and error as you learn. I also never deprive myself. I do portion control. If I want pasta and garlic bread I'll have a small portion of it and lots of salad or veggies.
Monster I eat hi carb foods, or low carb foods, and my blood sugar does not come down when I eat the low carbs, it stays in the 130-140 range even then. I eat whole wheat bread, and sometimes do go to hi carb foods, and then it peaks up in the hi 160's. I am on Trajenta, have lost 19 lbs, and walk 3-4 times a week. Recently I had two injections of steroids, but it was two weeks ago, so I doubt that is the cause.

Avatar m tn You should be staying away from sugar, white bread, potatoes and etc. Your diet should be high in fibre and breads should be whole wheat. I am diabetic and have cut out so much carbohydrates that many times I am hypoglycemic. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Harvard Medical School-- So eating whole wheat is not necessarily doing much for diabetes, but I guess the other changes he implemented, made the difference you mentioned. Now the question is, since he has a metabolic dysfunction, did the continued consumption of carbs lead to candida(a yeast overgrowth infection), did he have it before and if he did it perhaps predispose him to a parasitic infection?
Avatar n tn So in addition to following a low fat/low cholesterol diet(avoid red meat, egg yolks, full-fat dairy, processed baked goods, shrimp, meat sausages, fatty pork etc), try to avoid simple carbs and instead go for more complex carbohydrates in one-serving portions(brown rice, whole wheat bread and pasta, whole grain cereals).

Stick more with the brown selections brown rice, whole wheat bread, etc. Other complex carbs include potatoes which i try to limit myself to small portions. And try to stay away from simple sugars as well like sodas candy stuff like that.

The other side of it is to increase your output of energy, meaning exercise, from whatever you're doing now.

Fiber is perfect for us who have pcos, eating more fiber...atleast 20-30 grams a day will help you stay fuller longer...therefore not eating as much. Lots of fresh (or canned or frozen) veggies as well as fresh fruit (or frozen or canned). Keep plenty of water with you at all times. I keep a 1 Liter bottle of Poland Spring water on my desk at all times, and I drink that throughout the day (and yes I refil it sometimes 3 times a day!!).

IF your doctor has cleared you for exercising, start with walking, you can do this anywhere and at your own pace. Also, it's best to eat very small healthy meals every 3-4 hours instead of 3 bigger ones. This keeps you full and your metabolism at it's peak! Good luck to you!
144210 tn?1273088782 So.....if you are not supposed to eat white bread,white Pasta's etc and you can't eat whole wheat then what the hell are you supposed to eat. We can go on a Atkins type diet but it is high in saturated fats which some people say is bad for the Liver also. Most of us cannot live on just vegetables and fruit alone. I realy think that this probably applies to a small subset of people and not to most of us with hep c.
