Do I consume slightly more protein than normal to help build muscle, perhaps a little less on days I am doing cardio (on those days consume more carbs)? Avatar f tn Exercise builds muscle and muscle burns fat. Muscle also helps the body look toned and slimmer. Work on exercises that build the core muscles. You can do this with yoga poses or other exercises. I find that about 10-15 minutes/day of various leg lifts and some simple weight exercises works well. You can do a search for exercises that might work best for you. If you choose the right ones, you can get by with minutes/day, rather than hours/day.

Avatar f tn Not only is this proven to burn far more fat than cardio/aerobic exercise, but it will also build lean muscle, which will increase your BMR. You need to forget your weight really, too - it's not a very useful measure for athletic people. Also, given how much sport you do, it's also quite likely that you have a fair bit of muscle already, and for that reason my weigh more than a non-athlete of the same dress size.
