Avatar n tn I'm sorry to tell you but I don't think there's any way to lose 12kg in one month. You could lose probably close to half that if you eat around 1000-1200 calories a day (depending on your metabolism) and do cardio for 30-45 minutes 5 days a week. Lower body exercises also help a lot to burn calories.

Also when you are in ketosis your body feels less hungry. This all sounds good except that this can also lead to kidney issues (even failure), osteoporosis, and kidney stones. I agree with using the food tracker to see how many calories you are eating each day, then start making small changes, like drinking water instead of soda (including diet soda), or snacking on raw veggies, rather than a candy bar, yogurt in place of ice cream, etc. Exercise is essential to losing weight AND being healthy. There are exercises you can do that should not bother your asthma.

You probably didn't gain it fast, so you can't expect to lose it fast either. 15 lbs is too much to expect to lose safely in one month, but you can get started and lose as much as possible. The 3 areas that are the most important for weight loss, seem to be the 3 areas in which you're the least flexible. Those are diet, exercise and sleep.

Avatar f tn i am different from those who commented above. Because I am more like YOU. (And unlike them I don't have an agenda to promote a particular diet program like Atkins) etc... I can only tell you about my life--- And, for me--- I tried and tried for years to lose weight on my own. I grew up Hating the word diet cause I saw my mom struggle with what she thought was a problem, and I can honestly say she was never over weight more than 5-10 lbs in her life.
Avatar m tn s no guarantee that will happen. The best course is to eat a healthy balanced diet, and not to expect miracles from marketed diet fads. The only diet that has been studied widely that appears to hold up well is what's termed the Mediterranean Diet, but that's really just a basic balanced diet high in veggies and whole grains and low in animal fat that everyone recommends. It's not a high protein diet.

The good news is that you are so young that the habits you start now will stay with you and you will see a change pretty quickly. It's hard to tell you what to do not knowing what your habits AR now. But generically, you want to stay away from processed foods esp. Sugars!!!

Could refer you to the book 'diabetes solutions' by Dt Richard Bernstein as best source of info for this approach - and for managing diabetes. Please let us know how you go.
