Avatar f tn I changed my diet radically, cutting out most pre-processed foods, lowered my meat intake, and watched my fat intake 40g to a 1500 calorie diet. I started to lose weight and I lost it quickly. At first I was extremely strict, if a label had sugar, syrup, sucrose, fruit juice, or fructose in the label; I put it back on the shelf. I also cut out dairy which was hard for me as dairy was in almost every meal I use to eat. I would prepare most of my own food from scratch.

For a lasting result you should lift weights, don't eat junkfood, snacks, but just eat healtier, for example fruit, vegetables, eggs low fat quark etc. Good luck.

While you might lose a considerable amount of weight on it, which might be nice, the chances of gaining it all back, once you go off the med are extremely high. I can't think of anyone I've ever known, who would stick to such a "diet" for any length of time.

Avatar f tn I'm no doctor, just a man who has read way too many articles on fitness and tested a few out. What I've found the best way to lose weight is to find your maintenance level (you can find a rough calculator online) that will tell you about how many calories you burn in an avg day. Subtract around 250 calories and you've found your ideal calorie amount! Keep in mind you should take exercise into account as well. You should be shooting around -2 lbs a week.

Avatar n tn hi. i find it very very hard to lose weight.... despite exercise and diet..... my weight either remains the same or increases. eg. after working very hard in the gym and following a low-carb diet, i was able to lose only 3 kgs!! even my personal trainer and friends and family felt there's something not right. I recently got blood test done along with a USG scan. my thryroid seems to be fine and i do not have pcos. but my prolactin levels are high ie 31.5 ng/ ml.
Avatar n tn Nothing is horrible and you should not be ashamed of who you are right now, but if you want to get into better shape then that is never a bad idea. Start by walking or riding a bike (stationary or road). This will let you control the pace and stop when you want to. Start with small goals ex. walk 1 mile in 10 mins, ride 1 mile in 5 mins. Then try to increase the distance or time weekly. The most important part of losing weight is calories.

Avatar f tn With all due respect, can not recommend any diet pills to anyone. The only true way to lose weight is through healthy nutritional food, moderate exercise, and making a lifestyle change. Diets and diet pills simply do not work. There is no quick fix but weight loss is most attainable. If you'd like support in losing weight naturally, would be happy to be of assistance. Avatar f tn Hello. I go through sort of the same struggle you do. I lost a ton of weight following the "Low GI" diet. Its Low Glycemic Index. The diet itself shouldn't really be called a diet because its really just all of the foods you should be eating anyway...but who am I to say that? The Low GI diet is great for people trying to stay away from getting Diabetes, and for people who have Diabetes. Google the diet to pull up all the foods.
