You need to trick you body to keep it from storing fat. I use the Mediterranean diet. Then add squats to your daily routine. Squats burn fat while toning muscle. 1. Avatar f tn So I've done tons of research about stomach fat and the best way to burn it is by a balanced diet and by drinking a lot of water and engaging in both cardio and strength training, but is there anything else? i workout usually everyday, at the least 5 times a week, very rarely 4. I eat quite heathy, taking in a lot of fruits and vegetables and trying to watch my serving sizes and portions.

I have same problem but my personal trainer told me this is what I have to do and is why I have "my diet diary" to log my caloric intake. I've been running and lifting weights but my belly fat is being stubborn. I know it's bc I "cheat" on eating. I'm hoping tracking my calories will help me resist temptation... Good luck!
Avatar f tn I would like to point out that fat is a necessary diet component. You need some fat every day to be healthy. Polyunsaturated fats can even lower your bad cholesterol! The main thing with fat is to eat unsaturated fats, like avocado, nuts, and olive oil. If you Google search "my plate cdc.gov" you will find lots of information about healthy eating. Avatar m tn s no guarantee that will happen. The best course is to eat a healthy balanced diet, and not to expect miracles from marketed diet fads. The only diet that has been studied widely that appears to hold up well is what's termed the Mediterranean Diet, but that's really just a basic balanced diet high in veggies and whole grains and low in animal fat that everyone recommends. It's not a high protein diet.

For a lasting result you should lift weights, don't eat junkfood, snacks, but just eat healtier, for example fruit, vegetables, eggs low fat quark etc. Good luck.

I don't even look like I weigh as much as I do which is a good thing. I am blessed not to have any medical problems due to me being over weight, however, if I don't lose weight and keep gaining I know that can change. Avatar n tn I warn you though, if you lose all your fat you run the risk of damaging your bones and losing your period (sorry to be so blunt - seen this happen heaps). So if you do decide to lose weight by cardio, make sure you stay in the healthy fat percentage range. However, I wouldn't worry about it too much. It also depends what body shape you have, some people store more fat on their belly.

I breastfed for over a year, and got down to my pre-pregnancy weight (without dieting or excessive exercise) by her first birthday.

So, a healthy diet and lots of interval training is the main thing. Then you can make the "man boob" problem less noticeable, by firming up and toning your upper chest area with a decent weights routine and push-ups.
