Common Questions and Answers about Anxiety treatment michigan

anxiety

Avatar f tn Does anyone here know of many cases of Lyme in Michigan? Has anyone here had Lyme without the distinctive rash? Almost five months ago I suddenly began having a lot of very strange and painful symptoms that I hadn't been having before, but the ones that bother me the most are the visual symptoms and pain. Some of my visual symptoms are blurriness, double vision, visual snow, flashing and whiting out. The pain is everywhere, but a lot of it is in my head, face and neck.
Avatar n tn As you read some of the posts out here, anxiety is huge with thyroid disorders. Are you on any thyroid meds at all? Anxiety meds? Since you're unemployed/uninsured, can you apply for medicaid? I wouldn't think they could deny you. You definitely need to be seen. My first thought is that you need some meds to get your thyroid levels under control, and also something for your anxiety. I recommend that you check out U of M to find a doctor and treatment.
Avatar m tn I still have insomnia issues for some reason, but I don't trip out at night, I'm merely awake. It's like my anxiety never happened for the most part and I'm able to move past all the moments anxiety would've crippled me and into the life I've desired all along but been too scared to manifest. What we desire the most, we fear the most could be an anxiety persons tag line.
Avatar m tn The University of Michigan did a study on how brain-gut interactions can be affected and how levels of a component of the immune system called inflammasome can be impacted. Another study found that probiotics containing multiple strains of beneficial bacteria reduced IBS symptoms in 68 percent of participants compared to just 37.5 percent of those given a placebo. Avatar f tn It sounds like you have been through alot and that you are taking alot of medications. Hormones are a huge part in anxiety. I would get the worst of my anxiety the week before my period was due. Now that I have had a hysterectomy and am not sure what I am ovulating etc I cant seem to pin point it the same. I suggest seeing a naturopath or at the very least getting a new doctor. Naturopaths can really help with the hormones and medication reduction and so much more.
Avatar m tn Thanks for your answer Michigan. The problem is that I am at a stage again where the anxiety gets triggered by various things in my daily live like for example taking public transport (which I have to). In terms of talking to a therapist, I am an expat running my business in Asia. It is quite difficult to find somebody proper to talk with, as there is always a language and culture barrier.
748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.

A good hypnotherapist could help you re-train your brain / body connections and also how you respond to feelings of driving anxiety. * A self-help program specifically for driving anxiety sufferers like Driving Peace (drivingpeace.com) or Driving Fear (drivingfear.com). The Panic Away program also has a pretty good section on driving anxiety (panicaway.com). * Relaxation techniques you can use in the car. * EMT and / or EMDR.
Avatar f tn What treatment options are there? Is surgery an option and, if so, what is the longterm outcome? Is there someone who specialized in this problem - most gastroenterologists get that "deer-in-the-spotlight look" when I ask!?! I hate that my life has to revolve around this problem - and no one understands what I'm going through!! I am otherwise healthy, I exercise regularly, eat well - I just want to know what I can do to "fix" this problem! Thanks!
Avatar m tn The anxiety is definitely there but I just don't know which came first, the anxiety that led to not being able to sleep, or the not sleeping that has caused the anxiety! I just know the thyroid is the cause!
Avatar n tn MY QUESTION, IS IT NORMAL TO SEE VIRAL LOADS DROP WITHOUT ANY TREATMENT AT ALL. My doc told me not to get to excited that I still have a treatable virus. SECOND QUESTION, WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT MY DOC TO BE DOING? ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR THE BEST HOSPITALS, DOCTORS IN THE STATES...PREFERABLY IN THE MICHIGAN AREA. My first visit was at U of M Ann Arbor which will continue seeing me if I opt for treatment. Thanks for any/all help or suggestions.
Avatar f tn Anyone else go through similar after treatment or after having to stop treatment prematurely? Is this a result of coming off the treatment drugs or .. what?
Avatar m tn They exacerbate her condition rather than control it. We recently tried hydroxychloroquine with adverse side affects. We have tried L-thyroxin treatment as well but the hives did not go into remission. These are delayed pressure hives and the outbreaks resolve and return with regularity depending on clothing, sitting on hard benches, wearing closely confining clothes and shoes, etc. We are now looking at a very expensive therapy, Xolair (Omalizumab) injections at $750 a pop.

Avatar n tn I have been to numerous doctors in the past 5 months with the constellation of symptoms described below and still have received neither a confirmed diagnosis or treatment. I hope you can help, and I apologize in advance for my very, very long post... I was a healthy 35 year old female until early December 98, when I developed faint tingling in my fingertips, toes and inside of left leg.

Avatar m tn I am a strong believer of being proactive and looking after your mental health to better your future, so please seriously consider exploring treatment for your anxiety because it really will help regardless of if there is anything else going on. Cheers.........
Avatar n tn I live in the United States - Michigan. I have an appt with a new Rhuematologist from the University of Michigan. Although I don't know if they are a specialist in Antiphoslipid Syndrome. I have only one child and had two miscarriages after her. You would not even believe how most Drs just tell me I have anxiety and want to put me on antidepressents/anxiety medicine. I have refused because although I am anxious, I do not feel it is from anxiety alone.
Avatar n tn It is proposed that whenever brain estrogen levels fall below the minimum brain estrogen requirement, for whatever reason and at whatever age, brain center dysfunction may ensue and may cause symptoms of anxiety. HRT is recommended for this type of anxiety disorder (secondary to hypoestrogenemia). However, you may also benefit from cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy.
Avatar n tn Our follow up question is then, what are the typical forms or methods of treatment used to deal with the anxiety conditions you referenced in your response? Secondly, is there any recommendation you could provide in how to handel the "father factor"? Thanks again, TVB PS: We are in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. Do you have any references you could provide in this region of the state?
Avatar n tn However, if it is not, I cannot stress enough that you get in contact with Michigan Head Pain and Neurological Institute in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Saper, who runs the institute, was even featured on 20/20 a few years back because of the great success he is having with his treatments. GIVE THEM A CALL. If only someone would have told us about this great place sooner, we would not have gone through the nightmare we did, for TWO YEARS!!!
