Avatar f tn I don't know anything about them in particular, and don't know that we have anyone currently posting here who is in Michigan, but that's okay -- I would contact the Michigan association and see if they can refer you to a Lyme specialist. If you don't like the first doc, try another. All this sounds very cloak and dagger, I know, but you'll work your way through it, and your family or a friend might be able to help you sort it out.
Avatar n tn I wanted to ask the members of this forum if anyone can direct me to a reputable Doctor/Endocrinologist in Southeast Michigan, preferably in Macomb County. If anyone could tell me what the expenses are before during and after I would really appreciate it. If I had insurance this wouldn't be a problem but since I am unemployed and broke, I am stuck between the proverbial rock and hard place.
Avatar m tn Recall that I felt very weird in the brain for two or three days when starting Lexapro. In Michigan where I live, insurance covers meds on a tiered level. If you're exploring meds, they will start you on celexa because it's cheap. You won't be able to start on Lexapro. At least I'm kinda sure that's how it happens here. I'm paying out of pocket so I can do what I want. It's a killer though. Celexa is 20 bucks a month, Lexapro is 100!
Avatar m tn Hi, For the past six years, my father is suffering from chronic constipation/IBS. Now it has reached a stage wherein the best of laxatives, purgatives, suppositories are also not clearing the bowels fully. Even the intestinal lavages, enemas have not given relief. Various medications including anti-depressants have been tried with very minimal effect. Due to partial or no evacuation of bowels, there is constant pressure to relieve, which requires making several futile visits to the the toilet.

Avatar m tn Dear All, The first time I got in touch anxiety was about a year ago. My company was going through an investment process that took quite long and I assume the adjoining stress caused the exposure to anxiety attacks. They came out of nowhere but mostly appeared on public transports, taxi's and sometimes public places. But the most disturbing was when I had to do presentations in high profile meetings.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you have been through alot and that you are taking alot of medications. Hormones are a huge part in anxiety. I would get the worst of my anxiety the week before my period was due. Now that I have had a hysterectomy and am not sure what I am ovulating etc I cant seem to pin point it the same. I suggest seeing a naturopath or at the very least getting a new doctor. Naturopaths can really help with the hormones and medication reduction and so much more.

Avatar f tn Hello everyone! it is such a relief to hear that I am not in this alone. I am a 43 year old female who has suffered with severe constipation all of my life. I was just told today by my Primary doctor that I have an elongated colon. She suggested fiber, exercise and LOTS of water. I changed my diet some 10+ years ago eating only fruits, vegetables, fish, good grains, very little white foods etc. This diet has not relieved the symptoms.
Avatar m tn And then i went to Collage at University of Michigan, again, dont think i got bitten there. And then lived in Chicago for 4 years and now I'm in Puerto Rico. Avatar n tn ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR THE BEST HOSPITALS, DOCTORS IN THE STATES...PREFERABLY IN THE MICHIGAN AREA. My first visit was at U of M Ann Arbor which will continue seeing me if I opt for treatment. Thanks for any/all help or suggestions.
Avatar f tn I used to carry Xanax in my purse and take a half in the am and the other half in the pm. Now the Xanax is at home in my dresser drawer because Paxil covers anxiety as well. I only take the Xanax at night and quite frankly I feel like I am simply using it now to get high and pass out at night. I will start to ween myself off of the Xanax. Trish/ Paxil covers a wide range of symptoms including PMS, Anxiety, Depression, OCD, and PTSD.
Avatar f tn Rory makes an excellent point. Also... When I was in treatment for cancer, I found that marijuana was the only thing that gave me complete relief from the nausea caused by chemotherapy and radiation. It also helped me to eat when food was that last thing on my mind, and it gave me from relief from the terrible anxiety. My state does not permit the prescribing of marijuana for medical purposes, and I was forced to buy street drugs.

Avatar m tn He could probably benefit from light-therapy, which is relatively inexpensive. Do a google search. It involves exposing the eyes to a variety of light wavelengths in the morning for at least thirty minutes.
Avatar n tn My neurologist attributes some of the dizziness to the tumor but the other symptoms to anxiety or depression. I don't think so however because I've had anxiety in the past and was able to deal with it just fine and my problems are so constant (even when i'm just chillin watching tv) that I think its completely physical - certainly with additional anxiety as a result of the physical symptoms.
Avatar f tn My mom had something similar and went in to have it removed. She has a tiny scar, but is glad it is gone. I don't know what caused it. Her procedure was outpatient, so she went home the same day.
145992 tn?1341348674 He told her sister that he contacted his lawyer and he was told that because she is keeping their son away from him, that it’s illegal and he can get full custody. That his anxiety will not have any factor in the matter and that it will not stop a judge from giving him visitation. He said that he will get full custody and guess who will be hurting then. He’s using his son as a pawn to hurt my friend. So does anyone have any suggestions of what she should do?
Avatar m tn The thought of not washing with shampoo or just plain water is interesting. Here's why, I used to live in Chicago and we had Lake Michigan water. Now I live in a suburb and we have treated well water. Since I have lived in this suburb my condition has been more noticeable. When I lived in the city it was less. Also I have noticed that when I am on vacation ( Mexico or Wisconsin) the symptoms clear up greatly. It is less stress but also in Wisconsin the water is untreated well water.
Avatar m tn Such reactions usually occur within 2 hours of administration, but may occur up to 24 hours and in some cases more than one year after initiation of regular treatment. Patients should receive treatment only under direct medical supervision and be observed for a minimum of 2 hours following administration; appropriate medications for the treatment of anaphylactic reactions should be available.
Avatar n tn I have read that anything above 1 CM is abnormal. I have no pain in the nodes themselves but have developed pain in the neck which seems like a stiff neck, and pain exists with any pressure from straining or lifting, also movement related pain in neck, chest and spine in the same region. No signs of infection at all, but do have extreme fatigue, back pain, some weight loss, among other varied symptoms.

Avatar n tn He said that the scans don't show any cause for this to be happening and it looks like it is curving in rather than the bone thinning in that area. At this point it isn't affecting my brain, so he wants me to repeat the scans in October and come back so he can see if there are any changes. Keep in touch if you find anything out about yours. and feel free to send me a message in my inbox - I have a watch on this post and my inbox and I recieve an email whenever anyone posts to it.

Avatar f tn Hi, FTB4 advised me that I should add Gimel's name in the subject as he may be able to help. I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (Munising Area), and the one endo that was available here has left the state without a replacement. I am now looking for a new one in Michigan... A good one as close to the bridge as possible. I am willing to travel further, if need be, though if there are better ones more south.
Avatar n tn For the last week or so now I have had a very slight, high-frequency vibrating sensation in my penis (it feels like it is in my urethra, from about the base of the glans to the base of the penis). It feels like varying degrees of the following sensations: - a cellphone vibrating in my pocket - a stream of fluid flowing through the urethra (without the sensation of exiting the glans) It is not usually constant, but is rhythmic, that is, will come and go in intervals...
Avatar n tn I was in an auto accident approx. 9 years ago that left me a C-6 quadraplegic. I live in northern Michigan and since it is fall and rather cold outside, I spend most of the day indoors. Alot of you reported that your symptoms increase while watching television, I do spend alot of time in front of t.v. or computer screen, possible correlation? I smell the smoke whether I'm home or somewhere else. What the hell is causing this? This is the strangest thing I've ever heard of...
233488 tn?1310696703 I also note from my nearly three years of experience that the top places for eye care listed by Doctor Hagan may be strapped to provide sufficient time to help the patient. I've had exposure to one very high on that list, and was very disappointed in their herd like treatment of patients, and particularly new ones. A fellowship doctor saw me first, and he dilated my pupils before I was to take a field test! I didn't know he was dilating, thought he was getting ready to test my IOP's.
Avatar n tn I have been to numerous doctors in the past 5 months with the constellation of symptoms described below and still have received neither a confirmed diagnosis or treatment. I hope you can help, and I apologize in advance for my very, very long post... I was a healthy 35 year old female until early December 98, when I developed faint tingling in my fingertips, toes and inside of left leg.
