anxiety

748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.
Avatar f tn Hi! I began my treatment with Sovaldi and Olysio 21 days ago, and I'm doing great. I have not had ANY side effects, and simply feel normal, or perhaps a bit more clear-headed and energetic. I had my two week labs done, and the results have absolutely amazed me -- all results (ALT, AST, etc) are within the normal range, and my viral load (formerly 789000) is undetectable! I so hope that you all can get this or one of the newer treatments coming out this summer.
Avatar f tn I know this is long but I type really fast, or fast enough, and I think fast too, lol! So if anyone doesnt feel like reading I understand fully. Maybe I shouldnt be reading all of this since I dont even know for sure that I have the virus, other than ive tested positive for the antibodies, all I know is its really scary and hearing alot of this is extremely scary. Whats scares me more than anything is the anxiety that people are talking about.
Avatar m tn I've read that smoking raises blood pressure and therefore exacerbates anxiety/stress, so it's a no-brainer that the social-smoking needs to stop. I also read that it's a good idea to cut out caffeine (no more Diet Mt. Dew *cry *throwfit *repeat). So if you are reading this looking for how to stop anxiety and panic attacks after a night of drinking, the simple answer is to STOP drinking.
Avatar m tn I guess with that said though, my 'getting worse' would be that my psychological symptoms did get MUCH worse over the years. The Fog and disconnected feeling started first, then the social anxiety and OCD. Then I had a year of prolonged intense stress and it seemed like my body/ mind collapsed from it and wasn't able to fight back like a normal healthy system would. That's when the head exploding 'fight or flight' reactions would occur that lasted weeks at a time.
Avatar m tn There are plenty of people out there right now who are riding the fence and trying to build up enough courage to do treatment as it is. We need more people to DO the treatment, not shy away from it.
55646 tn?1263664409 Nationally, there are at least three different studies beginning for the treatment of genital herpes. First, the Genocea phase one (first in humans) trial. Instead of an oral medication to treat herpes, Genocea out of Boston has taken the approach of stimulating the immune system to respond more robustly to the herpes virus in people who are already infected with the virus.
Avatar m tn I don't know what's causing your symptoms Boston but if it has been suggested they might be caused by anxiety the doc should have had concrete suggestions about how to get back to balance (and an Rx to get you in with an appropriate professional - NO, not a shrink!). Ever try bio-feedback testing? It can give you interesting info and tools to work with. If it solves the problem - GREAT. If not, you usually still benefit big time.
Avatar n tn If you are not confident in the treatment your son is receiving, seek a second opinion. There are choices in the tretament of both anxiety and ADHD. Any particular symptom can represent any number of disorders. Therefore, it is important not to focus too much on any single symptom as definitive evidence of a condition. There are pediatric mental health clinicians who can treat your son's condition(s).
Avatar m tn (Euthymic means a normal, non-depressed, reasonably positive mood distinguished from euphoria) Thus, despite the explosion of options over the last quarter century when lithium dominated treatment, treatment resistance remains a central problem in BPD. Whether measured by symptom/syndrome/recurrence status or functional status, the majority of treated BPD patients have a less than satisfactory outcome.
Avatar f tn I have become somewhat anti-social though I have recently been forcing myself to be more social. I am looking to feel better and willing to go the mile to make that happen. I am a smoker, and will be quitting the first of year, at this time I smoke about 10 a day. I have been seeing my doctor who is Internal Medicine and Endo - but I feel like she does the blood work, sees nothing from it and says my weight is my issue.
Avatar m tn Not long after I was diagnosed, in my early 20s, they recommended treatment. At the time, the interferon was NOT pegylated, and both interferon and ribavirin were given via shots. The chance of cure for genotype 1 was also extremely low. Now, about 10 years later, we have next-generation interferon, oral ribavirin, and DAAs to greatly increase the chance of SVR to >80%, plus a whole host of extremely viable studies.
Avatar f tn I just thought i would throw in my two cents on this. I am 27 y/o and in Jan. of this year i started to go through something just like what you are describing. I too have been to every Dr. i could think of and had SO many tests run on me without finding anything. I was constantly worried about things in my body that i never paid much mind to before such as headaches and getting dizzy when i stood up and neck/back pains. But during all of this i never really felt anxious or depressed.
864885 tn?1240014394 Thank you for your response. I have suffered from anxiety, severe depression, and just incredibly bad luck. My husband of 21 years left (and left me with nothing.) My children are out of control, and if it wasn't for my dog, I would do myself in. I have nothing to continue for except for my dog, whom I would not leave. Now I have addiction, on top of all of this.
Avatar f tn I told him over the phone yesterday that I no longer wanted to take this stuff and he told me to go off but begged me to keep my appointment so that he could do further investigation into the depression, anxiety and general brain fog. I still am very confused as to what to do, but all of these sides are affecting my abilities to perform in regular everyday simple things. Work is becoming more difficult. I feel like every day is a state of chaos.
Avatar n tn Hi Summer, If you’re stage 1, it might indeed be a good idea to wait for treatment, especially since there are new drugs in late phase clinical trials right now. It appears that these new polymerase inhibitor class drugs will increase the efficacy as well as decrease the duration of treatment for genotype 1 patients.
Avatar n tn It is crystal clear, to me, that she has never had this problem, it has come out of nowhere. She has always been extremely social, honestly a little too social and open with others, she even went to school (for a short time) for broadcasting, she has excellent communication skills especially when explaining how strongly she feels about something, it is obvious she doesn't have it. But now she's saying that my brothers and sisters have Aspergers too.
Avatar n tn If I do qualify for inferon, how does that work? How often do I have to go to the doctor after starting treatment? How many times a week is the shot? Please tell me what to expect from here forward.
Avatar n tn I have though about going in and trying to discuss Modafinil or anything my psychiatrist would recommend, but I wanted an opinion from a doctor (MedHelp) before I went and possibly lost the trust of my psychiatrist. I know ADD medication and possible Modafinil could interact with my anxiety treatment, but I am a smart kid, and I don't want to end up working at a local fast food restaurant or grocery store because my anxiety treatment is making me dumb!
Avatar m tn The census was that if it could not be seen, the treatment options were limited to 'unknown cures' and older treatment options. Now I have read up on new treatment options that were never considered before and the education is worth the read.
475555 tn?1469307939 Just a few questions about treatment with Sovaldi + Olysio that hopefully some knowledgable people here will be able to answer: - Why shouldn't the meds be stored in a refrigerator? I was told this by the specialty pharmacies. I understand that there can be a lot of humidity in refrigerators, but wouldn't the meds be okay if the bottles are unopened? Keeping them lying around, in the New York summer, just doesn't seem like a good idea.
116701 tn?1210262764 I am 10 days post treatment now and I am feeling progressively worse. I am assuming this is a withdrawal of some type from the medications. While the fog seems to have lifted a bit I have been experiencing a racing heart, rapid breathing, sharp pains in the center of my back, wrestless sleep, sharp headaches and irratability. I was probably overly optimistic about feeling better quickly. Have any of you folks that are beyond treatment had any of these problems.
Avatar n tn ) I don't know about my sister's insurance, but I do know she will do anything to get her son the best treatment. Even if it means giving up everything. I'm going to talk to her again tonight and ask more questions of why it's going to take so long to get him to Cleveland Clinic.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have been reading an getting a lot of advise from this site as well as others and the decisions of treatment well it was not a will I or will I not take treatment I know is something I must do to live and see my grandchildren grow up. I do understand my quality of life my not be the same while under going my treatment but with the support of my family and new found friends I know I will make it. I will be starting my first treatment sometime after thanksgiving for 48 weeks.
Avatar m tn I think with a better understanding and redefining the condition, the people who have it, will get the treatment they need and those who don't really have it would get the treatment for whatever their issues are, whether it be a thyroid condition, or other conditions that cause difficulty concentrating, hyperactivity, brain fog, etc.
Avatar n tn The constant pain and discomfort makes it harder to keep a positive outlook and I see myself sometimes, withdrawing from social interaction. My stomach keeps me from going to sleep most nights and wakes me up most mornings. I am fortunate to have had many successes both personal and business and have never enjoyed the attention that a chronic problem might get someone.
Avatar f tn How am I supose to begin to a disorder that has no current cure or even treatment. In Australia POTS is not even on the Dr lips as it just starting to be reserched as posiable real disorder here. I cant keep sitting on my but just to keep my heart at reasonable pace and my tiredness as reasonable level.
Avatar n tn My doctor just prescribed me Xanax for anxiety. She believes my anxiety is due to my Grave's Disease which makes affects your heart rate. I don't think this is so. I feel nervous and anxious most of the time. Especially in social situations. I've never had a panic attack in my life, but get VERY nervous when put in situations where I have to speak to a large group of people or again in social settings. I don't know if Xanax is good for this or not.
Avatar f tn com It's a great support group and hester Hill, who runs it, is a Social worker who has worked at a major Boston cancer Hospital for 30 some years and she has had bc twice, and she is married to an oncologist. She knows everything. there is a discussion called: ask Hester. this woman will get back to you and she is great and she doesn't just say."only your physician knows best". go there.
151543 tn?1233628148 Hi, I read your comment & wanted to answer you but the 'post a comment' option on my first post doesn't lead to a dialog box, instead it leads to a web site.. So snook, I take it you are an adult & have had HCV your whole life? Wow...And now you are going for treatment? What is your genotype? I am 1a which I'm told is bad. My levels are very inconsistent which I'm not sure what that means. I am confused about the medical reports re: vertical transmission.
