2064671 tn?1335562853 I'm new here because I recently found out my vitamin D levels are low. The Dr. didn't tell me the number but I'm on 50,000 IU once a week. I'm only into my 3rd week on this but I have finally had a few nights where I can actually sleep more than 4 hours. My symptoms pretty much match most of what I have seen here. Is there anything else I can do as far as diet or other meds to cope with these miserable symptoms?

Avatar f tn Hi, I one day out of no where (2 weeks ago) started feeling shortness of breath and having to yawn so much to get a full relief of fresh air. I started to get anxious and going into panic attacks because I couldn't feel a full relief of fresh air. This anxiety has led to mild depression. Doctor told me all my symptoms came from "anxiety" and "stress"!!!!!! I was not happy with my diagnosis.
Avatar n tn In the end, all the doctors more or less gave up. I read on Medhelp how some people were getting some relief with a special B12 supplement so I got some (Enzymatic Therapy B12 Infusion). I guess the major difference with this stuff is that it comes in methylcobalamin form. Anyway, my Dad did two things: first he started taking the 1mg B12 once a day, and second, based on a doctor's advice, he increased his 0.5 mg Lorazepam (for anxiety) from once a day (before bed) to 3 times a day.

Avatar f tn No, it will not help with anxiety. In fact, it can cause anxiety if you take it for a time and come off of it. That is not what it is designed for. You are on day 3 and the anxiety will subside. You need to give it time and stop looking for the magic fix. You will start to feel better in a few days.
1244180 tn?1325899111 Tachycardia is often times caused by anxiety. What you describe sounds to me like a panic attack. Anxiety can be caused by hormones after birth. It can also be caused by a few health conditions such as thyroid problems. I would talk to your dr. You can always call and make a "yearly check up" and bring it up then. Or you could talk to your OB about it.
Avatar f tn I could use some advise. My yearly blood tersts showed a Vitamin D deficiency.I am currently on 50,000 units of Vitamin D therapy for 8 weeks. How much should I take after that time? I have noticed my joints and muscles get sore after exercise, and I now have a groin pull from vigorous leg exercises. I am a 64 yr. old woman, which I know is a contributing factor to joint stiffness. I use a sunscreen daily(allergy to sun) and am on HBP med, cholesterol, aspirin, and anxiety meds, plus a fluid pill.

341903 tn?1225388712 Anxiety in and of itself is quite painless. What anxiety can cause OUR MINDS to make our bodies feel is another story. We can not tell you what meds you should take or even if you should take any. You need to see your doctor about the pain you are having and let him/her rule out a physical cause for it. Then you can discuss dealing with the anxiety.
Avatar f tn And whichever disease I would look on internet I had majority of associated symptoms. This was due to severe anxiety caused by low vitamin d. A vitamin d level that low contribute to calcium deficiency which can host range of other symptoms e.g tingling and numbness, bad breath, weak bones, difficulty getting up, osteomalacia, abnormal hearth rhythm etc. Doctors said it was all in my head. They don't know about what severe deficiency could do.

Avatar n tn ve found that regular exercise helps me a lot to deal with generalized anxiety. I think many anxiety sufferers become deconditioned, and this leads to high heart rates and high blood pressure, and that really makes anxiety much more disturbing and unpleasant. Stay conditioned, and look into cognitive behavior therapy. After years of trouble, those are the two things that have really allowed me to feel good almost all the time now.

Avatar n tn i experience muscle tightness like you stated due to anxiety.. Mine comes and goes. I have been on med for anxiety and stress for 5 years now. I am wondering if this can cause damage to the muscles long term?

Avatar f tn Anxiety usually causes tightness in my chest. But recently started having other chest pains and went to the doctor and was sent to a cardiologist. Turned out I do have a heart issue. Which I honestly didn't think I would have since I've always got tightness with anxiety and other random sharp pains and aches and twitches in my chest that I've had for years. Didn't think it was a big deal.
Avatar m tn Sometime mid July I started to take 10,000 IU of D3, 500mg of vitamin c, vitamin b6 (forgot the dose), 400mg of magnesium as magnesium oxide, and an omega 3 pill. I take all these daily. I have noticed a very slight change, but I still feel terrible. I am foggy all the time, I get lightheaded, tired, I have higher blood pressure, sometimes my joints ache, my memory has gotten sort of bad, and in general I just feel like I am out of touch with reality.
