Avatar f tn Only a doctor's exam, if anything, will tell you if the head rush and dizziness are something physical or not. Stress isn't the same thing as anxiety. Everyone goes through more and less stressful periods of time. Anxiety is a problem when it's chronic, and you seem to be describing a chronic insecurity and fear.

Avatar f tn I was on SSRIs for about 2 years, but decided to come off. I am having issues with my anxiety again and would like to use medication as a last resort. I am wondering what other alternatives are out there. I have been thinking about trying a negative ion bracelet and acupuncture.
Avatar m tn I have also use slippery elm bark (SEB) safely and continuously for both my cats for a number of reasons...if I find an actual site I will send it along later....don't be afraid of this, ask your Vet even...most know of its healing qualities...although they prefer to write a prescription for an antibiotic or steroids...yuk.

Avatar f tn We have tried many things, , and he only gets a month or two relief, if that. Our vets are at a loss, and has said that some cats just have this problem all their life and nothing seems to work.
Avatar f tn Your name suggests you keep a cat or cats. And if you are allergic to cats, the reactions can trigger anxiety and panic like symptoms -especially regarding breathing, increased heart rate, etc. That's a stretch, I know it is, but I'm looking at all the suspects here. Otherwise, while that's quite a cocktail of drugs you are taking, they were prescribed by a doctor, so taking then at least as a trial is the right thing to do.
541150 tn?1306033843 HI, glad that you posted, I was worried about you in Florida with that hurricane that just passed. You alright? Oh, by the way I've never heard of cats having separation anxiety. I though this was a doggy thing. I've heard of them destroying the house, crying, peeing and pooping on everything. I guress it's possible for a cat to suffer from this. My first thought when I read this, was that Abby loves his parents, and doesn't want to be alone.
Avatar n tn Hi Here is a Natural Flea Relief Option for your cats: Avon Skin So Soft diluted 50/50 with water, put into a small spray bottle and spritz your cats. It smells great, is safe and non toxic and works very well to repel fleas, mosquitos and other pesky pests. If the spray scares your cat spritz a cloth and wipe your cats. It works great for people too.

Avatar f tn Now humans can buy some over the counter relief, but they just are not available for cats. Doing an online search you probably can find some, but unless your cat has had pain meds before you shouldn't medicate her without a vet.
341903 tn?1225388712 Anxiety in and of itself is quite painless. What anxiety can cause OUR MINDS to make our bodies feel is another story. We can not tell you what meds you should take or even if you should take any. You need to see your doctor about the pain you are having and let him/her rule out a physical cause for it. Then you can discuss dealing with the anxiety.

118225 tn?1278654940 I was just curious if there was a long term relief for cat allergies. I have heard many people say there is a simple shot to take them away...but wonder if this is true, and how often the shot would be needed. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

443862 tn?1237999439 Most cats do not enjoy living in close quarters with other cats. Your cat is showing typical symptoms of being very stressed. You should seperate their feeding areas (different room / area of the house for each cat) and give them a seperate litterbox each. The house as a whole should have 1 more litterbox than the number of cats you have (ie you should have 4). Litterboxes should be kept immaculately clean. Give each cat a high area they can escape to (top of a lowboy / cat palace etc).
Avatar n tn Valium can be used in cats for anxiety and especially if this is a temporary environment it may be worth exploring with your veterinarian. I've asked our behaviorist to chime in here, and perhaps Dr. Karnia will also give her opinions.
