Lizz67 I never said I had clinical depression. I actually had psychotherapy and it helped me get over my anxiety and depression. If you notice on the doctor's post, he mentioned psychotherapy as a second alternative giving me the option to choose whats best for me. In this case, it was psychotherapy.

Clinical depression simply means "a depression under treatment". Sites like Wikipedia list it as a type of depression but it is not. It just means you are seeing a doc really. Therefore, clinical. OK?

I'm sure that sounds like a dumb question when someone says they are depressed, but really, there are certain symptoms that would indicate a serious, clinical depression versus a case of feeling really down or sad based on a situational stressor - i.e. withdrawal.
I need support and validation on the symptoms I suffer through because of my depression. I stay in my home day on end isolated from my family and my friends. I even strugle tremendously with taking a shower and brushing my teeth. Somedays I don't even eant to get up and tkae my medications.

It's my understanding that clinical depression is just a more severe depression. There's a specific criteria you need to meet to be diagnosed with this.
The treatments for depression are mainly psychological but I feel there should be some effective drugs in this regard to provide immediate relief during emergencies also there should not be any side effects.

Hi. I know I've been having clinical depression for a very long time, specifically, over 20 years. And I've never been on S.S.R.I, but I've been taking B vitamins and it has worked for me, a little bit. I'm thinking about taking Lexapro and B vitamins at the same time, will I feel a whole lot better?
