776572 tn?1360290739 was sooo sick last night so took one 75mg pill last night and another pill again this am on recommendation from motherrisk morning sickness helpline. seems to be helping, however i plan to stop taking the pills and change my diet, concentrating on consuming more alkaline foods instead of taking meds. nausea was remarkably reduced this am and in fact, i didn't wake during the night with the urge to vomit -- first time in weeks.
7349088 tn?1390657733 Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.
Avatar n tn my 14 weeks baby girl weighing 12 pounds spits up at least 3 to 4 times every feed (4 feeds per day) and she burps many times as well and she gets all cranky and fussy while burping or spitting.. She doesn't cry excessively but she just seems annoyed and we need to keep distracting her..
Avatar n tn (GULP) Dear Tammy, Gastroesophageal reflux is a very common disorder, but as you pointed out it is much more common during pregnancy. Pregnant women have the highest incidence of daily heartburn. This is due to increased progesterone levels during pregnancy and due to mechanical factors that put pressure on the stomach as the fetus grows. The hormone progesterone decreases lower esophageal sphincter pressure thus allowing for gastroesophageal reflux to occur.
Avatar n tn Also, what is the recommended dosage for the Zantac? I am still having some breakthrough with my current regimen (i.e., one 30 mg Prevacid in the a.m., and one 150 mg Zantac in the p.m. Thanks so much and I look forward to your answer.
Avatar n tn My question is, can I continue to take the Zantac and/or Rolaids during my pregnancy? And as well, if I cant take it, what can I do to help the GERD? I assume symptoms will get worse as I get bigger? Any advise? Dear Tammy: Zantac is a class B drug: studies done in animals have shown NO bad effects on off-spring and there are no trials in pregnant women. This is as positive a recommendation for use in pregnancy was we can have.
593603 tn?1229378162 Does anyone know if you can take Zantac 75 during your first trimester for heartburn? I took it with my first pregnancy, but it was a lot later in the pregnancy. I am dying here, and need a fix.
Avatar n tn that ranitidine (Zantac) is safe during pregnancy in a dose of 150 mg taken twice daily. Obviously it is best, if possible, to : minimize the use of any medicine during pregnancy, but if your symptoms are particularly troublesome you could try ranitidine. Thank you so much for your help. I went out today and bought some Zantac 75, but looking at the active ingredient it lists "84 mg ranitidine hydrochloride", and states it's equivalent to 75 mgs of ranitidine.
Avatar f tn Um o cant remember if this is fact bit i do believe it is not ok. But double check. They usually say just drink milk. I forced the acid up n out then drank milk....that usually helped.
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken Zoloft during pregnancy before? If so, what was the dosage and What were the results?
Avatar m tn s not doing much for the pain and the stress on your body can harm your baby. There are stronger pain meds that can be prescribed during pregnancy and you really need to get to the bottom of what's causing this cough.
Avatar m tn no, 200mg 2x/day isn't ever effective for suppressive therapy , even when not pregnant. Not in canada so I go by the ACOG recommendations as well as the extensive research by Dr Zane Brown who has done the majority of the research on herpes and pregnancy. The herpes handbook by Terri Warren, our herpes expert here in medhelp, also supports the dose I recommended. you never, ever, EVER have to take acyclovir if you don't want to, even during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Mine was too! I was eating at least 8 tums a day until my doctor suggested at my 28 week check up that I take Prilosec until the end of my pregnancy. I was worried at first because I didn't want to take anything that would harm my baby, but she reassured me that Prilosec & Zantac are safe during pregnancy. Zantac will help fight symptoms after the fact for up to 12 hours & Prilosec will stop symptoms before they start all day.

Avatar f tn Has anyone taken zoloft during pregnancy before? What was the dosage and What were the results?
Avatar f tn All those in need of acid reflux relief, heartburn. Take 150mg of zantac, it's approved during pregnancy. I had the worst acid reflux ever and I take two of those 24 hours or so and I'm so thankful. I wasn't able to eat anything expect dairy products until I got the zantac..
Avatar n tn No160, then if Zantac isn't ok during pregnancy try Prilosec. That's the one the doctor let me take til my last trimester and then because NOTHING else worked he put me on zantac. Also, If dramamine didn't work for you, there are a couple things the doctor can prescribe that can be SAFE to take. I don't remember the names right now, but there are definitely things out there that can help with any issues your facing and still be safe to baby.
