Avatar n tn but im thinking of trying zantac for her the least doisage possible just to cjeck if it will reduce the spitting and the crankiness after feeds, but i also don't want her tummy to get used to it since my self i have been on omeprazole for years and can't live without it.. it's only during my pregnancy that I have changed to zantac and in severe cases pariet or lanzor.
Avatar n tn Since about 8 months my son has slept on his stomach (he would roll over on his own) and will not sleep any other way. Second, My son was on Zantac for about 3 weeks when he was first diagnosed at 7 weeks, (until I switched pediatricians because he didn't believe me when I said my son was still in pain) after 2 weeks my smiling boy went back to crying constantly. He was then switched to 3/4 tablet 15mg prevacid solutab at 3 months old.
1628088 tn?1299532090 but 4oz keep him full enough to wait for his next feeding (within 3 hours) during the day and night. He was on zantac and that was not helping. Then they gave me precavid but Im not a big fan of medications so I have not giving it to him yet as he seems a little more better with the rice cereal. The doctor told me about an alternative that has worked for his granddaughter called Simply Thick, he wants me to get the thinnest one. But Im still doing research on that, have you ever heard of it?
7349088 tn?1390657733 I take Zantac 150 once a day as prescribed by my Dr. I've had terrible acid reflux and it seems to be helpful. It's safe ..my neighbor gives her 4 month old baby zantac for silent reflux as prescribed by her pediatrician.
1330108 tn?1333677304 My daughter was born at 35 weeks 1 day gestation. She is now 19 days old. She does not cry for food and she suffers from GERD. The drs said feed on demand but then said small frequent meals. How much how often should she be eating? I'm waking her every 2 hours to feed and giving her 2oz pumped breastmilk. When breastfeeding she eats until it all comes back.
Avatar n tn Started back on the stomach meds prescribed for me, but a few months later I was in worse shape because a bad dental issue forced me to take NSAIDs and augmentin, and a dose of Tylenol 3 that landed me in the ER with severe chest pains--I did not know I needed to eat with that, and so started a 4 month journey of some major gut pain and loss of my voice. Acid had taken over 1/3 of my larynx, and I got scared.
Avatar n tn My doctor is telling me to give my 7 year old Zantac for a kidney infection, but I can't find any information on whether or not this is a proper treatment- I just want to be sure??
Avatar f tn My daughter is 3 months old and constantly spits up clear liquid. I'm not so sure what it is any more because my first one had acid reflux so I assumed my youngest did too. She's been on Zantec for a month now and she doesn't spit up any more milky substance but still constantly spits up clear liquid. She doesn't even really spit it up half of the time it just runs out but when it does that its a lot.
Avatar n tn After 2 days on the pill, I starting having side effects of diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting for almost 3 days. They then switched me to Protonix which I am glad to say is working very well. So like CalGal said, it works differently with different people. Your daughter just needs to find one that works best for her. Good Luck!
Avatar n tn My throat has been red for a month and over the last two weeks a breathing problem has developed (heartbeat, tight throat/chest, can't get a full breath of air). I'm fairly healthy and usually run about 5 miles every other day and get to the gym for an hour/day 3-5 times a week. I have been struggling with both of these activities and it's starting to get to me mentally.
Avatar m tn She had Viral meningitis (Undetectable virus) at 50 days old for which she was in ICU for 3 days. In her 7th month she had cold and otitis media of one ear for which she was given antibiotics. First 5-6 months, she had GERD for which we used Zantac when ever needed. Her development : Every thing was normal until her cold in 7th month. she was rolling over frequently before that infection.

Avatar n tn am also very sorry to hear your daughter's story. It is a very familiar one to me. My 16 year old daughter starting vomiting after her second feeding at birth and did not stop until she had a j-tube(feeding tube) surgically placed in her small bowel at age 8. Her case is very severe obviously, but I do know how you feel. Raising the head of her bed does help to a degree. The Zantac will take about 2 weeks to really start to help her.
11278126 tn?1419304633 Tums or Zantac. I exceeded the daily dosage on Tums so my doctor told me to take Zantac Maximum Strenghth.
Avatar f tn My daughter kept aspirating so they had to thickenher milk by adding rice cereal to her formula and also giving her zantac. Zantac works well for acid reflux she's able to eat without spitting up. Everything will be fine .
Avatar f tn My 18 month old daughter has had diarrhea and been vomiting for the past 3 weeks. She vomited the first day once and seemed to feel fine afterward. The following two days she had diarrhea. She felt fine the following day. She then began vomiting again after that the second week. During the second week she vomited about three days out of the week and had diarrhea the entire time.
1222635 tn?1366396286 a friend of mine has a 4 month old, and he weighed 14 lbs 11 oz at his 4 month checkup, and was told to be in the 60 something percentile i believe. she was only one more ounce and she had been eating cereal every feeding, he was just on normal formula. so with that comparison it doesn't seem to be causing her to gain excess, she seems to be on track with all other babies eating just formula. or maybe boys are supposed to have different weights? UGH this is all so confusing.
Avatar m tn My OB said to try Zantac for the possibility of acid reflux. The pain is just tremendous. There has to be something stronger then Tylenol to take and is taking 6 to 8 pills of Tylenol a day even OK?
484160 tn?1343397921 My sister has been in and out of the hospital for two months with severe gastroparesis. The doctors would admit her and get her stabilized, then tell her she had to eat solid food before she could go home. She'd be home for 1-3 days and start vomiting again. She'd go back and the whole dog and pony show would commence all over again. After 2 months of this, we were so frustrated I started researching everything I could find on gastroparesis.
Avatar f tn Hello there, The answer is yes, it happened to a lot of people. If you know you didn't take meth ( which stays in your system for 3-4 days ) you know it's the Zantac that gave the false result.
Avatar f tn My 3 month old drinks 4 oz of formula every 3 hours but he does not burp he also throws up after every feeding. He has been throwing up since around 3 weeks old what could be wrong.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your help. The only other medication I am on is Advair for my asthma, and this has been for probably close to 15 years. In fact, after the pulmonary tests I was able to effectively lower my dosage from the 500 to the 100. So, at least that was a plus. I have tried cutting out all of the food triggers and coffee and it doesn't do anything. In fact, when I feel the chest pain it occurs all day long.
Avatar f tn 2 weeks ago at 11:30 pm my healthy 16 yr old who had a dry cough for the previous week started gasping for air while showering. After a scary couple of minutes and paramedics on the way, he slowly regained breathing and started deeply belching and spitting. ER said it was likely bronchitis that caused bronchspasm and gave him a steroid dose pack. 3 days later it happened again same time of night at a friends house and was taken to another ER. They said it was reflux and gave him zantac.
Avatar f tn Well, my first problem with nursing was that I was on Magnesium in the hospital, which made both of us really sleepy for the first day, and I didn't get a great latch to start. I had one day where it was really working out in the hospital, but then he had jaundice, and wasn't getting enough from me, so I was supplementing and breast feeding. I ended up pumping while in the hospital, and I rented one of their pumps to bring home for a month.
