2030273 tn?1329708650 I have awful heartburn and acid reflux. I usually take some tums with a little bit of milk and make sure I sit up afterwards. I have severe nausea too and the heartburn always makes me get sick again. It's common in pregnancy... but I know how bad it *****!

Avatar f tn Heartburn is just one of the many fun things that happen to us during pregnancy. You can take zantac 150 or tums, but I hear drinking milk can help.
Avatar f tn Definitely zantac twice a day. Take it every day. I had heartburn my entire 2nd trimester and tried everything before dr finally said zantac.
Avatar f tn Um o cant remember if this is fact bit i do believe it is not ok. But double check. They usually say just drink milk. I forced the acid up n out then drank milk....that usually helped.
Avatar f tn Milk work for me I even try zantac 150 before meals but I stop using it cause baby lighting so I'm no longer having that problem
3166744 tn?1357930247 You can take tums but if you want long lasting relief zantac really helps
593603 tn?1229378162 Does anyone know if you can take Zantac 75 during your first trimester for heartburn? I took it with my first pregnancy, but it was a lot later in the pregnancy. I am dying here, and need a fix.
Avatar f tn I get heartburn super bad. During my last pregnancy, Zantac wouldn't work for me. I had to start taking Prilosec. It was awful, but for me, it didn't matter what I ate.
Avatar f tn Try zantac twice a day. I had heartburn so bad until beginning of 3rd trimester.
Avatar f tn Gaviscon is safe during pregnancy. If this doesn't work your GP can prescribe Ranitidine or Omeprazole. Had it for nearly a month before asking for help...why suffer?...anyway, it all works.
Avatar f tn Best bet go with Tums....I have heartburn extremely bad before and during pregnancy my doctor said Tums was great because it's does a two and one deal relieve my heartburn and provide me with extra Calcium..
Avatar f tn I have had it most of my pregnancy.
4250731 tn?1359154323 Zofran is mostly used for nausea but if its not helping you can try a liquid antacid like maalox, mylanta o rpepcid ac (liquid works better than tablets) hope something helps
Avatar n tn No160, then if Zantac isn't ok during pregnancy try Prilosec. That's the one the doctor let me take til my last trimester and then because NOTHING else worked he put me on zantac. Also, If dramamine didn't work for you, there are a couple things the doctor can prescribe that can be SAFE to take. I don't remember the names right now, but there are definitely things out there that can help with any issues your facing and still be safe to baby.
Avatar f tn ve suffered with acid reflux and heartburn through out my whole pregnancy.. i am 39+3 ...tums did nothing for me. My dr. Said i could take zantac or Ranitidine 150mg. I take one in the morning and another at night.
Avatar f tn It worked wonders and I highly recommend it. Zantac is considered to be the safest during pregnancy. My prescription was for 150mg twice a day, but I only took it once a day (around 4:30pm) just because I was paranoid about taking meds while pregnant. Tums was like chewing air, it did nothing for me either. Sorry you're experiencing the reflux too - it is miserable, but it DOES go away after delivery. Hang in there!
5739386 tn?1378836460 I suggest talking to your Doctor. I am currently 26 week and my Doctor perscribed me Zantac which you can get over the counter. I have had heartburn bad for years so mine isn't due to just pregnancy. Now my Dr said Tums were good to take expecially because of the calcium. Every Doctor is different so that is why I suggest talking with your Doctor first. I hope you get relief soon!
