enbrel

Avatar n tn htm If you get a fungal infection, you should call your doctor immediately. Since it is a known risk, your doctor will know how to treat you, and may recommend discontinuing the medication for at least some time.
Avatar n tn my question is simple. do i need to stop my enbrel to get rid of my hpv?
Avatar f tn m sorry but I know nothing about cervical spondylitis. My mother has psioratic arthritis and is on Enbrel. What a tricky disease to treat - she got tired of the shots and decided to stop them (plus they are expensive!) but after just a few days she changed her mind because the PA got worse very fast. that increase in lesions would concern me but I'm not the doctor. I hope your next MRI gives them some answers to help.
Avatar n tn Enbrel must be refrigerated at 2° to 8°C (36° to 46°F). Also, therapy with enbrel makes you most susceptible to infections, so take adequate precautions. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
422104 tn?1209763904 I apologize for not being more clear, what I meant to ask is if I am dx with MS can I continue to take the Enbrel. The precautions say pt's with MS should not take it but I want to know why and what the risks would be. Thanks again.

Avatar f tn I am sincerely thinking about just keeping my gallbladder even though it is giving me alot of pain. The pain of the gallbladder is nothing compared to my pain without enbrel. What are your thoughts?
1544019 tn?1318504526 So just an update about this. Just when we finally got cleared for me to take the Enbrel while pregnant, we find out it's not going to be into the pharmacy until Friday AND it's going to cost $900!!! BUT it turns out it will actually probably be safer for me TO take the Enbrel. I have to control my arthritis because if I don't control it, (according to the lady at the pregnancy risk hotline we talked to today) Rheumatoid ARthritis puts me at risk for still birth and preterm labor.
Avatar f tn t mean to frighten Enbrel users. For many ppl Enbrel is a wonderful medication that causes no serious side effects and brings great benefits. There are many testimonies that support it's effectiveness. However with any drug, (even Aspirin) that doesn't apply to 100% of the ppl. No one should discontinue any medication without first consulting their physician. I am hopeful your Rheumatologist will listen to your concerns and address them.
Avatar m tn Psoriasis and PA can flare significantly on treatment so that would not be the time to stop taking Enbrel. That said, Enbrel is an immunosupressive drug so its interaction with inteferon is still unknown and only one older study I'm aware (posted above) that has not been followed through. PortAnn has a very good point because newer treatments could limit your exposure to interferon by one half and interferon is the problem with psoriasis and PA.
1544019 tn?1318504526 Thanks, Justice! You should look into Enbrel when you're done with your pregnancy. It is seriously a MIRACLE drug for people with RA! At least it has been for me! About taking it during pregnancy, I have had to do a TON of research about the subject myself since there are discrepencies in the doctors viewpoints. The problem is that Enbrel is a relatively "new" drug. I have been taking it basically since it came out (since 2001).
Avatar f tn While it can take time to adjust to a new medication, if the side effects have a worse effect on your ability to function than the condition it is suppose to treat, it is worth evaluating all the ways your condition effects your life versus the side effects of the meds. There are many who swear by this medication and a few that I have met in the forum that wish they had never taken it. Each situation is unique and you will have to make the best decision for yourself.
Avatar f tn I want all to know I am just starting Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN). Stopped the Enbrel, Plaquenil, Celebrex, muscle relaxers, Methotrexate and other meds, and am only taking my blood pressure meds, hormone therapy and this LDN! I am STRONGER, less fatigued, and am doing very well in many areas!! I just wanted all of you to realize this LDN is out there, it's available and works well for most of us.
Avatar f tn Is it possible to have arthritis throughout all your joints at the same time?I've been diagnosed with arthritis in my thumbs and now in my spine 2years later. Is it possible to think that what I thought were normal achiness in all my joint is actually arthritis.I'm 33 and being tested for inflammatory diseases results not back yet.
422104 tn?1209763904 If the Humira and Remicade are the same drug then why make me travel and give up 1/2 a day to be infused. $$$$$ is why! I used to work at the practice he is at and they just started an infusion clinic, a no brainer... Money for them, inconvenient for me. In your experience how much better are you for being on the drugs? I guess I am naively thinking that I will be "the old me " at some point.
422104 tn?1209763904 HI There! I took my 3rd injection yesterday and the pain and stiffness in my hands has subsided a lot. In the mornings it takes me almost 2 hours before I can stand up straight, or use my hands. My back and leg pain is still there but now I am being tested for MS and possible Myasthenia Gravis, a neuromuscular disease. All my problems started because of the RA, and as my back pain and leg pain got worse they dx me with the AS as well.
Avatar m tn • Medications such as some antibiotics, prenatal vitamins and antidepressants, as well as drugs used to treat high blood pressure, rheumatoid arthritis and kidney stones • Oral problems, including oral infections such as gingivitis or periodontitis, tooth infections, and poor oral hygiene Sometimes the cause of a metallic taste can't be determined. In many cases, the problem goes away on its own after several months or longer.
Avatar f tn She should be able to run some blood work to check for causes and well as guide you into interim treatment of the AS if you decide a trial off the Enbrel is the best route to start ruling out possibilities. Please keep us in the loop about how this plays out for you. We learn from each other here and you bring a unique combination of familiar symptoms in a not so familiar framework.
Avatar f tn On last check out there is no inflammation sign in my breast, it is going back to normal (hair is growing back around my nipple.. I always hated it but now I love it! LOL). I took ALOE VERA and did HANSI method, which is the same as Enbrel but with different name as I live in Uruguay - South America. I have mentioned Enbrel to some girls on a Facebook GM group we have. I hope this helps!
Avatar m tn For the past six years I have been batteling with fungal infections (feet, ears, groin) and just recently I have been diagnosed with an infection on my penis and my hands after having had to take some antibiotics. This whole mess started when I was on Enbrel (I stopped taking that) to treat my psoriasis. I know that I don't have HIV since I already got tested for that (fairly recent too).
Avatar n tn I have a question. Are drugs in the benzo family ever used to treat seizures? As in Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, Restoril, etc? I have simple partial seizures and was on xanax on an "as needed" basis to control some nervousness about going back to college. I was on it for about 2 months. I started realizing I got less of my sensory and motor seizures which have always been uncontrollable since I started getting them back in 2000.
Avatar f tn There are many, many medications available to treat not only the pain and inflammation, but also slow down and hopefully halt the progression of the disease itself. The frustrating part is finding the right medication or combination of meds for you - no two people respond the same way to the same medications. My "cocktail" is Enbrel and methotrexate, plus an anti-inflammatory called meloxicam (Mobic). These three meds only scratch the surface of what's available. Good luck!
Avatar m tn t have to have the pain to have this disease. If the doctor is looking for it I would imagine it is due to these symptoms. The thallium stress test will show areas of reduced blood flow while the stress echo will show areas of wall motion abnormailities which could indicate CAD.
