Weight gain after essure

Common Questions and Answers about Weight gain after essure

Avatar f tn I've seen countless stories online about getting pregnant after having the essure done. I've regretted it everyday and would love it if I'm one of those women. What do you think?
Avatar n tn I just had Essure removed in January of this year after being sick for 4 years from the numerous complications. Currently Erin Brokovich is fighting to have Essure recalled and there is a Essure complications group on Facebook with over 26K sufferers. Also, Dr. Eric Sills will be on October 12 episode of The Doctors discussing Essure. Please watch the episode and if you're still considering Essure, check out the Essure problems page on Facebook. Essure RUINED my health.
Avatar f tn I am so upset because now isn't the time I want to gain extra weight after just having a baby. I have to wait 3 months to get off of this...but in the meantime..what can I expect in 3 months? Any significant weight gain in just that time? I am sooo upset!! Thanks!
Avatar f tn So glad u posted this! I've been wondering the same thing. I have 4 n feel like we are complete, but u just never know!?? :-) I've never used any kind of birth control so don't even know where to start!.?
Avatar n tn When I went back for my 4 wk checkup the doctor asked me a lot of questions, one was if I had a period and I told him yes. He then informed me that some women do have periods after a hysterectomy. AFTER HAVING A 2ND PERIOD SINCE SURGERY I AM WONDERING IF THIS IS NORMAL OR NOT????? Everyone says it isn't.
Avatar n tn I already have six kids... Well, two years later I found myself pregnant at age 43... after both the Novasure and Essure. It turned out that one of the coils was expelled into the uterus. The Dr. that performed both procedures... well, he just said it was textbook material.. he couldn't believe it. At six weeks we did see the heartbeat - at 8 it was gone. Unfortunately, i miscarried. But given my age and the two procedures... I'm not all that surprised.
Avatar n tn To update everyone-I had another ob apt. last week. I am about 8 weeks along & had a 2nd brief ultra sound. The tec reported again the baby has attached "where it is supposed to be." The heart beat was 175 bpm (nice & strong). It's amazing & I am still in shock! The dr. said I should see a specialist which they advise anyone over 35 who is pregnant or who had an ablation. She also told me to see her in a month. If I make it another month I will be in my 2nd trimester.
Avatar f tn The essure is non hormonal so hoping weight gain wont happen.

Avatar f tn My friend has done the depo shot two different times and each time she has gained alot of weight with it, anyone else experience weight gain? I would like to do the depo shot bc I know I cant remember to always take the pill but I already have a hard time losing weight any advice???
Avatar f tn I've had the Mirena in for about 3 years, no period *thumbs up*. no weight gain, no hair loss, and no mood swings. I recently begin to experience a foul smell even shortly after taking a bath. I went to my OB/GYN who then told me I had bacteria vaginosis (first time ever), no STD ever. I told my husband and he was like if the Mirena is causing this I need to take it out. The only thing I hate is the foul smell even after sex. I am getting it removed Friday and just getting my tubes tied.
Avatar f tn (Exercise intolerance, lack of interest in social/activities, anxiety, irritable, hopelessness, dry skin, weight gain, hoarseness, IBS like symptoms, low body temp 96.8, headaches, chronic sinusitis, goiter with small multi nodules, coarse hair, etc) All of this since my c section 9 months ago. I had an estimated blood loss of 600ml.postoperatively I was in severe pain and continued to bleed for a few hours, I became swollen and hypertensionDifficult recovery and I was given Lasix for 2.
Avatar f tn Yes it stops pregnancy from happening but I get every side affect.. weight gain, mood swings.. low sex drive.. I am at a cross road of what to do. I am currently 33 weeks with #2 and already signed my tubal ligation paper work...
1468158 tn?1363029895 Me and my husband are discussing my options, in the end I know its my choice about what I wanna do but as it is, He doesn't want me on anything and says he'll use condoms, I however am scared I'll get pregnant again and am considering some form of birth control. I don't really like the mood swings and weight gain either, if I wasn't having sex constantly I'd say no to it all together.
1173196 tn?1292920090 Not sure if it's real or not - but it's worth investigating. I had issues after my tubal related to hair loss, weight gain, etc. But there are other factors that could have contributed to that (stress). Let me just suggest this, though - do some long, hard thinking. I regretted my tubal the NIGHT I had my son. And, at that point, I had no idea just how much more I would end up regretting it. I truly wish that doctors would make women see a counselor before making such a decision.
Avatar f tn Their reasoning is that you may want kids later so they won't do it and prevent a child from being born. Depo and the patch made me gain weight. Pills made me puke... only thing that worked for me was nuvaring but I only ever used it t try and regulate my periods. I won't be using any birth control just a calendar.
Avatar f tn I've also gained some weight which is normal for me when I get on pill but this weight hasn't gone away! My weight gain usually goes away. I also have not started my period and I'm getting worried about my body. I feel bloated all the time now. I also had nausea when I was taking it. I was on this pill for 6 months. I do not think it was the right pill for me. Should I go see my doctor about this?
Avatar f tn I had a Mirena for over two years and didn't really have any issues with it except for weight gain (though I haven't been able to lose that weight since getting it removed a year ago so it may not have been related). After baby #2 is born and we need contraception again, my husband is getting a vasectomy.
Avatar f tn You will have a mild local anesthetic thus feel nothing after that. There are no restrictions with lifting after 3 days. It is good for 3 yrs. Some people have breakthrough bleeding with this but there's a pill they can give you to regulate. Most times for those that are breastfeeding, they have no bleeding on both the Mirena and Nexplanon. The Nexplanon in my opinion is nice because you do not have to worry about correct placement like you would for the iud.
Avatar n tn Did you experience any weight gain? How long before you felt normal and were able to do activities?
Avatar n tn I had the marina and actually just got it taken out today because of pains in my stomach, weight gain, mood swings, and head aches. It is different for everyone but if you are haveing any problems take it out...My doctor told me that the side effects I was haveing was not due to the IUD I guess we will see in a week or so how I feel. To the women going to get it done, it does hurt like hell but if it works for you go for it.
Avatar f tn Hot flashes, mood swings, bloating, weight gain, high blood pressure, and I was wondering if the iud was the cause of this. After reading the many comments on this forum I believe that it is. If I truly am going through early menopause I'm not really worried too much about it. As I said, I'm 43, my 2 kids are grown and I have no plans for any more. But I'm a little afraid of what will happen when it is removed. Will I go back to bleeding the way I used to? Which was awful enough.
Avatar n tn To the point where i have been in tears on countless occasions because of the level of discomfort and weight gain. And on the topic of weight gain, i dont care what any doctor or ANYONE says, the Paragard DOES cause weight gain. I am a fit and active person and have maintained my weight for years. I HAVE GAINED ALMOST 15 POUNDS! SINCE JANUARY!
Avatar f tn I've heard that it's not un-common for mothers to have issues with it later in pregnancy or to find that they have problems with there thyroid after pregnancy. Un-treated a thyroid problem could easily lead to weight gain or loss. treatgirl - I'm so sorry for your loss :( Wow, tomorrow I'll have 8 weeks left! After this weekend I know thing's will start to speed up because every weekend till my due date is booked! (And even a bit after due to school).
Avatar f tn no mood swings, or weight gain tho (altho weight loss has been impossible, even with a trainer and diet-plan). also had a lot of joint pain (mostly shoulders and pelvic). hope everything returns to normal...
Avatar n tn So far this is the worst effect as its been great so far (except for one more thing, the weight gain of 4 lbs. which my dr. says is just from me, although the packed clearly states it is a serious side effect and I should contact my dr.). I'm hoping as some people have stated, that on my next cycle my body will become use to the pills, and the weight will go away, if not I'm going to look into another pill and just take the active pills for 3 wks.
Avatar n tn remember we are perhaps more likely to post to warn others of problems with op rather then when we get good results so you have to weight up what you have to gain with the likelihood of any complications. search/ask for current info on particular op and the percentage who are disatisfied after.
Avatar f tn She said that it is highly unusual for the pain to come from my uterus so long after the ablation. I know what uterine/menstrual cramps feel like, as I had them all my life. They gave me a prescription for Vicodin, since naproxen and ibuprofen don't touch the pain. This month I had three days of severe, nonstop cramping. I can't go through this every month!! I had the ablation specifically to eliminate menstrual cramps in addition to the heavy bleeding.
Avatar f tn I suspect, some of this is just extra fluid build up / water weight being released from bloating. During my period, I tend to urinate alot, as my body purges the extra water weight. I usually gain and loose around 5 pounds each time my period comes and goes, due to the bloating. I am not a doctor, but I figure that this discharge is one of the many ways my body sheds the water it retained.
