15480 tn?1302533402 To a point, I agree with the posters who say that their bodies need to gain some weight. But gaining in excess of 25-30 pounds for the entire pregnancy can put you at risk for several serious pregnancy complications. Good luck to all. The original post is several years old, so if anyone wants to bring up weight or other issues, its always best to make a new post.
Avatar f tn I'm 26 weeks tomorrow and I've only gained 13 pounds thus far. My doctor always said for me 20-30 pounds was ideal during pregnancy. Anything after can cause complications and/or be tougher to loose after baby. Also a lot of my mommy friends said they gained most of their weight their last month of pregnancy when baby goes faster.
Avatar f tn I would say that's a lot to gain at what you are. Ideal weight is 25 to 30 pounds. But you were very thin to begin with so I think you are just fine! Your body needs fat for energy for your growing baby with my last son I started at 118 and when I finally had him I was 142.
7876352 tn?1403096059 Second pregnancy you tend to look pregnant sooner.
7058746 tn?1393439020 With my first I gained most of my weight in the first few months. I just looked fat for awhile till my bump started showing. Lol. For the last few months I barely gained anything. Overall I gained a total of 30 pounds. This time around I've been much more sick so I haven't gained as much right of the bat. Guess every pregnancy is different.
Avatar f tn Do you count weight gain from the weight you had when you found out you were pregnant or even after losing weight while pregnant and then gained?
4963258 tn?1395605672 How much weight did everyone gain in their first trimester? I'm a FTM and I've already gained 8lbs, just entered my second trimester (14wks) today. It's hard to go for walks as well, whenever I walk just up the road and back at least one side of my hip will start hurting and then I have to lay with my feet up. Any one else have that problem?
Avatar n tn My doctor thinks it's normal. I started off at 114 pounds, my ideal weight. I was told normally I would gain about 15-20 pounds, the most 35 pounds. This is my second pregnancy, and I gained 52 pounds with my son, and Weighed out at 162 pounds. And I was at 21 weeks, 149 pounds. Does anybody think that's normal, because I sure don't.
Avatar f tn Everyone is different for my first pregnancy I lost a lot weight ans than for my other 2 I gained and now I'm 21 weeks and on my first trimester I lost over 10 lbs and I have only gained about 2 lbs since.. don't stress to much about ur weight is not good to stress.
Avatar f tn I think 30 pounds is probably the ideal weight gain for most pregnant women.I lost ten pounds, then gained 20 back with my daughter. With my son I gained ten pounds total. Overall, my daughter was my healthier newborn. My son was a month early and was in the NICU. Don't get discouraged or upset over your weight.
Avatar f tn That being said I will be 27 weeks thursday and have gained just under four pounds. My doctor advised me to gain no mare than 11-20 lbs for the whole pregnancy so I watvh what I eat and how much I eat at a time.
Avatar f tn So I'm 25 weeks and went to the Dr today. The place I go rotates between drs, midwives and nps. So I met this one Dr for the first time today. She seemed a bit harsh. I asked her about weight gain. I was 154 before I got pregnant and I'm 5'4". I had a little extra but didnt think I was too bad. Today I weighed in at 173 and was told by the Dr I need to slow down. She said you have already gained too much. Really? I was just curious how much weight everyone else has gained at 25 weeks.
Avatar f tn 25lbs sounds like nothing to me, I would be starving. I do plan on getting back to my ideal weight of 110 after this pregnancy but I won't focus on that until after nursing. It does get hard carrying the weight around but I would be throwing up if I didnt eat every 3 hrs.
94902 tn?1330483267 i was in really good shape before i got pregnant, so i feel every friggin pound!! ugh. I'm totally jealous of you, Tasia!! I am not huge, but I feel soft everywhere and i feel like i'm bulging out of my clothes. I'm very self-conscious about it (which isn't helping our sex life, lol). We had just been on vacation (that's where we knocked me up) and when we came back from eating all the decadent food, I weighed 142 (I'm 5' 7.
151154 tn?1208134182 Okay, so I gotta tell you I'm a little upset about my weight gain. I am 31 weeks, possibley 33. My dates may be off. I went for an emerg apt on Tuesday and that doctor told me to cut the calories because I've gained way too much weight. I have gained exactly 30 lbs. I just don't know what to do. I eat 3 meals a day and don't snack at all. I don't eat chips or candy. I do like ice cream alot and have it once in awhile but not really any more that I did before I got pregnant.
Avatar n tn For me my ideal weight is 145, but my family have commented on the fact that I do not look healthy at that weight because of my broad shoulders. Could you help me. My stomach looks like a 5 month pregnancy and my boobs are just too much. I gets to be a bit embarassing at times and I believe it is preventing me from moving ahead in my job. Although people do not talk about it , I believe that physical appearance hampers people's career. P.S. the more I try to diet , the more I crave sweets.
Avatar n tn It's based off of your stating weight/height. For my first pregnancy I was told to aim for 30/35lb and this time around having leftover baby weight my dr lowered my goal to 25/30lb. My sister is a taller than me and her aim was 45/50lb because. Basically eat healthy and try and keeping you and baby healthy.
1343283 tn?1300901864 right now i am like 8 pounds over my initial first appointment weight....but baby is like 7 lbs.......typically for me it was/is ideal not to really gain any weight...cause i am really big..... Hope your appointment goes well...Ask these concerning questions when you go and inquire about foods to try and avoid....For example. My aunt, healthy guru freak that she was gained like 10 pound sin first 2 months......
Avatar f tn Your midwife or doctor will let you know how much weight is ideal for you to put on during your pregnancy. If you have a normal BMI they say between 11 - 16kg weight gain is fine.. I at 29w and I think I have gained around 10kg so far, but in the beginning weight gain was very slow! At this stage I think your fine :) But remember weight gain is not all you putting on weight.. bub, fluid, placenta all add to it.
Avatar f tn Just need a little advice. I know the normal weight gain is 25-30 pounds for a woman who is at their ideal weight before pregnancy.
Avatar f tn When i got pregnant, i had just lost 90 lbs and was still 30 short of my goal(ideal weight for my height), and now gaining it back feels awful. Everything hurts again, and I'm so ready to be able to work out again and get this extra weight off for good.
Avatar f tn Hi ladies, I am concerned about my weight gain during the pregancy. FTM...I am 15 weeks and have only gained 4 lbs. My belly hasnt grown much. The last sono I had baby was ok and was measuring the size of what baby should be. I am just concerned. Is this normal? Anyone with similar situation as me?
281219 tn?1219118514 lol - if you are considered super obese - they must consider me nearly dead - I'm nearly six foot tall and quite a bit heavier then you - my obgyn said ideal weight gain for me would only be about fifteen pounds - so far I don't seem to have gained any weight and we'll be at twenty weeks on Wednesday my favorite exercise tips so far - put the remote control between your toes - instant sit ups whenever you need to change the channel weigh yourself when you aren't wearing your contacts/glasse
Avatar f tn I think the pain and discomfort from anything always puts stress on the body and some ppl loose weight because of it or some ppl gain weight because of the stress on the body. For me being in pain and not being active as I use to be I gained weight easily. I am really confused with your story. You have tried everything in the book to loose weight. I can't even imagine how frustrated you are. I definetly think have CM affects a person whole body! Medication also play a big role also.
Avatar n tn But I also remember why my husband and I never used hormone based birth control-- it keeps the weight on, and a woman can expect to gain about five pounds for every year she takes the hormomes. I wish you luck with your current treatment regimen. I know how frustrating it can be when your body gains weight for no apparent reason and refuses to take it off.
Avatar f tn Lol ladies don't worry the weight will come....after I lost the six pounds I couldn't gain for the life of me....now I'm 23.6 and I've put on 11 pounds I was gaining four pounds every three weeks...
