Rather than blowing up about it, I came home and did some research. But I was sad to find that Valtrex is only prescribed for Simplex I, Simplex II and Zosters. So I asked her about it (via instant message - is that bad?). She said she gets cold sores sometimes, and the Valtrex gets rid of them quickly. Indeed I remembered that the empty bottle was for a seven-day dosage. But in all of the times that I've seen her, I never noticed a cold sore.

are u sure it is zoster? It is unusual to get zoster every month, especially if u r taking valtrex, Are u immunosuppressed eg taking steroids, chemotherapy or are u very run down?

Your Doctor told you tested negative for HS2, Valtrex is a pescription medication for Herpes Simplex 2, not Herpes 1!! how can you be on it for a month since you have been diagnosed?!?! I also found a GI surgeon that wrote a paper stating that he too found a link between HS1 and IBS and that patients that took valtrex for the HS1 had a significant decrease in nausea, bloating, constipation, and diarreha. I did and they simply did a visual examination and said that it was and just kept me on the valtrex. I was most likely going to go back in and talk to them. Do you think that i should be in an outbreak when i try to see someone or would it matter?
