1042487 tn?1275279899 Yes targeted treatments is the way to go. I will an analogy here with military weapons. Chemotherapy and radiations are like a napalm bombardments and recent advanced targeted treatments are like a laser guided missile to will go right at the target.
Avatar m tn I am a 48 year old white male, and I have already had a total of 5 heart attacks (all within the last 5 tears). At first my doctoer thought it was due to my low HDL, as it has been lower that 28 for the last 5 years. But after my last attack, about 3 months ago, the doctors are now thinking that my body is trying to reject the 3 stents the have pkaced in me. This last attack was pretty serious, and we are planning to have a defibri;ator implanted later this month.

Avatar m tn Other manufacturers are Emcure, abott, cipla , torrent. U can take any tenofovir 300mg tab once daily.
Avatar n tn In one way he was fortunate because his heart attacks were considered mild, only little bits of damage to the heart each time. But in the end he still ended up with congestive heart failure. Not an easy way to live. Plus he never changed his lifestyle, still ate terrible food and smoked and rebelled against taking the medications the doctors prescribed. So although I know some things about heart attacks, I couldn't accurately or completely answer all your questions.
Avatar m tn find a good psychiatrist, and give it a chance. The medications do not always work right off the bat - ask the doc and the pharmacist how long you can expect it to be before you START to feel the effects. "....Try, try again!".
1570981 tn?1295831355 I am pretty positive that they are not heart attacks you are experiencing. The pain would be very intense and you would end up at the hospital for sure. Hang in there and I hope you are able to get some answers very soon.
Avatar m tn After doing research I instructed the pharmacy to get the pills from Torrent (manufacturer). Those pills are peach colored and oblong, the same as Mylan's pills were. The pills from Torrent worked fine. Several months later my prescription was refilled with pills from Aurobindo Pharmacy. The pills were white and oval shaped and did not work well. I did not have headaches, but they weren't as effective in getting me to fall asleep and then I would only sleep a couple of hours.
Avatar m tn This is what she said to me (the pain is so grate that I cant move, I feel the blood sudenly stop and then the pain comes, the pain is right on top of my heart, but this time it was strange the pain felt right bellow my heart) the thing about this is that she has had it since she was 17, and she gets these maybe a maximum of around 3 times per year and the attacks las around 1 to maybe 3 seconds. Question is ¿ Dose the heart have a reason to stop sudenly, then continue like this ??
Avatar f tn He has recently landed back in the hospital with minor heart attacks. He has been having pain ever since the bypass and has to take a nitro pill to ease it. His Dr did a heart cath yesterday and it shows no signs of blockage. They are currently doing blood test, but have no answer as to why he is still having so much pain and pressure. My question is: If there is no blockage, could the heart have been damaged permanently and can something be done to help it and stop the attacks?
Avatar n tn Not too bad of a theory........but unfortunately, the heart doesn't quite work that way. The coronary arteries are OUTSIDE the heart; they are on top of the heart muscle, not inside of the heart. When the arteries get clogged, they can not deliver blood to the heart muscle; that is what a heart attack is and that is how your relitives died. Their hearts did not explode; although that can happen if the heart wall is thinned out too much. That is actually how my father died.
Avatar m tn Not an immediate crisis, but now is the time to make the life style changes to prevent a problem in your 40s. You should discuss diet and exercise with your doctor and discuss if meds are required as your LDL is well beyond the recommended level of 130.
Avatar f tn I've never had a panic attack but from what I've read, it's quite normal for the heart rate to increase during one. The closest thing I can compare it to is driving along, almost getting hit by another car. Talk about panic. And what happens? Your heart rate increases. So that's quite normal. I have PSVT so my heart rate jumps from 65 to 195 in a heart beat and races along for awhile. Then drops back to normal again in a heart beat.
10456991 tn?1427890197 yep..im the same..once something sets me off and it doesnt take much it can be a torrent lol..i also tear up at loads of things..

Avatar n tn I had panic atack before, but this was in the middle of the night. Need the know what is the difference between a heart attack and panic attack. It seem the same too me from what I'm reading. My left side still has a doll pain. I was feeling pretty stupid, when by wife suggested it was a panic attack. I have suffered from Depression and its under control, but these panic attack. Where do they steam from? I have to get these under control. Sorry for the spelling.
Avatar f tn ( Losing the weight so quickly gave me acid reflux problems and the gallbladder stones. I had to have the stones removed which then led me to have a DVT. The palpitations started not long after the weight loss started so there is a connection. I am now almost 5 weeks post ablation and as I said 2½ days pap free, almost a year with them and I have to say if I am honest I miss them, they were a constant thing in my life and not sure how to go on without them....lol YEAH RIGHT!!!!
Avatar n tn To reduce risk factors of heart disease make sure that your LDL level is 100 or below, HDL in the 50's for females, 40's for males, triglyercide levels 150 or below. Eliminate red meat from your diet or reduce it. I dropped my LDL and triglyercide levels tremendously when I stopped eating red meat for a year. My LDL is 79 and triglyercides 35. I can relate with you. All of my mom's side of the family over 100 people have heart disease now or have died from it.

221122 tn?1323011265 I often wake up with a strange tremorlike sensation in the chest, like the heart races with a heart rate of 300-400 BPM while in fact my heart rate is normal. First I suspected atrial flutter, but I really doubt that. It often happens when I suddenly wake up or I'm scared. What terrible feeling? Chest pain? Tremor? Arrhythmia? In addition, I sometimes feel that my heart stops when I'm just about to fall asleep. This is a normal phenomenon.
Avatar n tn Yes, this sounds like some, anxiety. Are you self medicating on this ssri? If so thats extremely dangerous and you should let a physician recommend dosages. Psych meds have alot of drug interactions and need a professional to review everything.
1194973 tn?1385503904 An EKG is a marvelous tool, but it only tells the doctors what your heart is doing at the time of the test. For an accurate record of what your heart is doing, you should wear a Holter monitor for a few days. That will record every single beat of your heart for as long as you wear it and give the doctors a much greater picture. I feel as if I'm scaring you with all the cardiac talk, but some of your symptoms sent up some red flags for me and must have for mammo as well.
Avatar m tn My dad is 79 yrs old, he keep having afib-attacks, 2 in the last 6 weeks, landing him in ER then ICU, changing his medicines again, but can't get his heart back into rhythm. What can we do?
Avatar n tn something we perceive as abnormal and then we start the anxiety which in turn WILL affect our hearts which then gives us even more reason to believe it was our heart in the first place then the anxiety soon becomes panic and our heart reacts to the dump of adrenaline like it's suppose to by beating harder and faster and then we KNOW we're having a heart attack so we then start to sweat and our fingers get numb and then we feel pain in our chest and our heart gets even more wonky and....
Avatar m tn D but I have hard copy of the 2004 version and it says the same thing. And I checked with a doctor on the phone he confirmed it. Then I downloaded .pdf torrent to confirm..Sigh..Did't calm my anxiety 100% though,lol..Maybe it would help you..
Avatar f tn s often a misconception that the heart is on the left side of the chest and therefore when you have pain there it must be the heart. A good portion of the heart is actually towards the middle of the chest. Often, pain on the left side of the chest actually turns out to be related to the stomache or esophagus, as that's where they connect. What I suggest is you go to see your doctor, that way he/she can give you a physcial exam to rule out any medical issues.
