Avatar m tn My birthday is pretty soon and my family wants to take me to a restaurant to celebrate. But Im afaid I might have a panic attack their in front of all those people. Also with anxiety I fear of choking on food so its going to be really hard eating. What should I do? Any advise?......
Avatar n tn I went several months and thought maybe I was starting to heal because I would go weeks at a time with no trouble then have a small bout (nothing as bad as the original attacks). Well about a month ago I had flu like symtoms and the stomach attacks came back.
Avatar n tn s with my friend. Half way through the movie I had another one of these attacks, where my heart starts beating like crazy out of the blue and I feel a bit sweaty and can't think straight. It was horrible! But I knew what it was and I knew it would pass in a bit over an hour so I just sat through it. Any thoughts? Does this sounds like it could be a chocolate or peanut allergy (since this was in the M&Ms)? Or a corn allergy?
Avatar m tn I am a 48 year old white male, and I have already had a total of 5 heart attacks (all within the last 5 tears). At first my doctoer thought it was due to my low HDL, as it has been lower that 28 for the last 5 years. But after my last attack, about 3 months ago, the doctors are now thinking that my body is trying to reject the 3 stents the have pkaced in me. This last attack was pretty serious, and we are planning to have a defibri;ator implanted later this month.
1374969 tn?1321457490 I was fine at the restaurant with my friends, but the driving there and home was a complete nightmare. I panicked all the way there and all the way home... shaking, heart beating out of my chest, etc. So I'm thinking that it's not a social anxiety issue, it's a driving anxiety issue.
Avatar f tn I have went over a week with no panic attacks or even more than mild anxiety, which is a miracle for me. However, last week we had Chinese food for dinner and within a few hours of eating it, I became very shaky, anxious feeling, panicky for several hours after and the day after. Now tonight, we had Chinese food again, and again, I am having the same feeling.
Avatar f tn I have been recovering from anxiety/panic attacks for about 2yrs now. Its been a slow process but I have been very successful. Long story short, I had a traumatic event (fainted in a restaurant) and I went down hill fast, became agoraphobic couldn't work....anyway, I'm mostly back to normal except, I haven't been able to eat in a restaurant since.
Avatar n tn s going on). Panic attacks often have symptoms that seem to be related to the heart, but usually these symptoms do not mean that there is anything wrong with the heart. I'm kind of surprised that your doctor didn't explain things better to you, or give you a referral to someone who treats panic disorders. Usually, you see a psychiatrist, who may prescribe medicine to help control the attacks.
Avatar f tn What restaurant do you crave the most? I'm so loving Mc Donalds! I think about it non stop. What about you?
Avatar m tn He made an inappropriate joke about smelly people and removed himself several times from the table to go look at a poker machine that the restaurant had. I guess my question is that at the almost age of 10, should he be more polished, more gentleman-like at a restaurant? By this age, should his maturity level be higher than where it is? Or, are we we expecting too much?
Avatar n tn I went out to eat with my dad at a restaurant we go to frequently and I started to sweat and shake, I went outside and then came back in to fight through it, the the panic eventually passed. I just started a job as a realtor and on 2 ocassions I have started to sweat, this was definitely due to anxiety/panic, it has happened to me many times in the past. I had a script for 1mg of klonopin a day. I usually take .5 in the am and if I need more later then I will take more.
Avatar n tn Two weeks prior to this panic attack I had ablation performed on my heart for SVT (heart arrhythmia). Since then, I have had several panic attacks and was put on Lexapro 20mg and Xanax .5mg as needed. Most of my panic attacks happen in restaurants and I end up fainting. It is getting to the point where I don't want to eat out anymore because I am afraid of humiliating myself and whoever I happen to be having lunch or dinner with.
Avatar m tn My heart was racing, heart palpatations, sick to stomach, hot flashes, trembleing, etc. Took a Xanax right away. Thank God for those! I've been under a lot of stress with on & off attacks since Wednesday. I'm explaining all of this just to let you know I understand what you're going through & you are certainly not alone.
Avatar f tn I started have dizzy, confused, anxiety, panic, fear of leaving home attacks back in may after a reaction to antibiotics I was taking. I blacked out in a restaurant and was taken to the hospital...it was traumatizing and has changed my life for the worst. I need a partner that shares my problems to understand and listen to help get over this and get my life back.
Avatar f tn He has recently landed back in the hospital with minor heart attacks. He has been having pain ever since the bypass and has to take a nitro pill to ease it. His Dr did a heart cath yesterday and it shows no signs of blockage. They are currently doing blood test, but have no answer as to why he is still having so much pain and pressure. My question is: If there is no blockage, could the heart have been damaged permanently and can something be done to help it and stop the attacks?
Avatar m tn The only way to tell what her heart is doing is for her to wear a heart monitor that can record the event when it happens. However, because it happens so rarely, it will be difficult to "catch" the problem. Still, she should go in to have a heart check up and see if everything else is OK in there. There may be some small electrical problems that she's not feeling and they can see them then. Hope she gets some help and answers soon.
Avatar n tn all of my grandpaws family died of massive heart attacks. and i dont want that to happen to me. well i u kno how if u have a heart attack, thta means that one of your arteries ahve ben bolcked and blood cannot pump to your heart? well i believe that if the arteries that pump blood to your body get clogged up, then your blood starts to build up in your heart and eventually it gets to be too much and your heart explodes. killing you and your family at the same time. and your friends.
Avatar f tn I've never had a panic attack but from what I've read, it's quite normal for the heart rate to increase during one. The closest thing I can compare it to is driving along, almost getting hit by another car. Talk about panic. And what happens? Your heart rate increases. So that's quite normal. I have PSVT so my heart rate jumps from 65 to 195 in a heart beat and races along for awhile. Then drops back to normal again in a heart beat.
1520499 tn?1291058365 ve eliminated sugar, salt and caffeine from my diet because they trigger heart racing and anxiety attacks for me, but the episodes of tachycardia predate the anxiety attacks. What could be causing this? I worry that this and the anxiety are related to each other.
