Avatar f tn Heat renders it like rancid not as bad as some other oils but still is subject to some damage, it oxidises and in the body, just like all other oils, helps produce free radicals and in time this causes inflammation. You don't need more of inflammation for sure! Coconut Oil does not alter chemically with heat, as it is a medium chain fatty acid. great Energy and metabolism booster. Start with 2T daily and gradually go up to 4 daily. Check out the "Oil Pulling" online.
Avatar n tn The lack of magnesium causes problems with microcirculation and causes the blood vessels in the hands and feet to restrict - according to my GP. If you suffer from cold hands and feet it could well be this and supplementation with magnesium could help. It can also be caused by undiagnosed celiac disease. I've also heard that it's apparent in about 15% of people with CFS/ME.
Avatar n tn The MD from the Cleveland Clinic that hosts this site will be a great resource for the answers you are looking for. I am a medical professioanl with a strong background in respiratory/cardiac problems and may be able to offer my opinion. I just want to clarify that we are not talking about PVC's as your problem. PVC's are mostly benign arrhythmia's that are usually asymtomatic(no accompanying symptoms like low BP or pain or shortness of breath).
Avatar f tn I have to make my way up to 100mg. Great idea on the yogurt because it's great for getting rid of bloat caused by yeast overgrowth as many of us women have in our bodies. Great tip!!! Great job on your weightloss results!!! Do you do any kind of exercise too? If so, what kind? I'm thinking about pilates and maybe taking up kickboxing as a stress reliever. I am so excited that my DR has put me on this (for migraines), i PRAY I'll get the loss of appetite side effect!!!!!
604197 tn?1292308636 I cannot tell if something is burning, and cleaning chemicals/sprays are a nightmare as I learned to be very careful when cleaning and inhaling the fumes after I got a few respiratory infections. I did a great deal of research after the head injury and there was not much info out there. However, that was 10 years ago and a lot has changed. I can taste sweet, sour and definitely salt which can seem overwhelming if I feel something is too salty..I don't eat it.
Avatar f tn Even the HR person was not happy with what happened and told me the first night she called the CEO about the situation. All in all I complained about the situation and the employer brought in a consultant. Which didn't heLp (actually made it worse in my opinion). Nothing was done except to tell everyone to "play nice". It was beyond that.
Avatar n tn About two months ago the outside edge and tip of my great toe on the left became numb with tingling in both legs. I had chiropractic adjustments which did not change the numbness and I began to get pins and needles with shooting nerve pains all over my body including my head, arms, both legs and increase discomfort in lower back, mid back and neck and right shoulder. I decided to discontinue chiropractics until I could get a clear idea of my problem.
Avatar f tn Thank you. :) yes deff get the fresh air. I live in canada and my little guy loves the snow. It's so painful to be so cold, but we all do we have to to seem normal I guess. I haven't been able to eat anything but pretzels and that's so I get thirsty enough to drink.
370801 tn?1264408618 We know for a fact that B12 deficiency causes depression and dementia. The twist is few people (and none of the MDs) know that one can have normal serum B12 yet low B12 in CSF. They only test B12 in CSF in Sweden to my knowledge (one of few countries that banned mercury amalgam dental filling BTW). But, coming back to my previous post, there is no way I can know for sure that B12 is what helps me recently.
886824 tn?1253740254 This attack damages the myelin, which in turn slows down or blocks messages between your brain and the body causing the symptoms of MS. The causes of MS are largely unknown. MS is most likely a multifactorial condition, which means that it involves a combination of genetic, lifestyle and environmental factors. It is currently well established that MS also runs in some families.
1458891 tn?1285647838 Yes I have experienced cognitive blunting and mood changes from some mood stabilizers. The mood stabilizer I started now Lovaza causes some minor depression and irritability and cognitive confusion but that wears off as the day passes. The Catapres which I take in patch application causes extreme mood changes the first day but after that its okay. Things would have been easier if I could have tolerated common mood stabilizers but I went through all of them.
Avatar m tn But, I eat pretty darn healthily, and it certainly helps, but depression and the fatigue it can create is enough to keep you drained.. no matter how properly you treat your body. This is because your main difficulty it sounds, is your mental health, or spiritual health.. which can get better! btw, what are your "habits" your doc talks about? So do you know what in your like has caused your depression? I think that is what you want to address!
335728 tn?1331418012 It’s akin to that one snowflake too many that causes an avalanche. In MS, it isn’t entirely clear when the tipping point will occur. A number of studies have suggested that when disability is assessed during the Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS), the tipping point is when a score of EDSS 4 is sustained. This corresponds to a person having severely disabling symptoms but is still self-sufficient and able to walk without help.
801188 tn?1241651226 If anyone cares they're something called stilnoct 5mg - as it happens the pharmacy only had 10mg ones so not my fault that I have to take 2 (decidously ignoring the great big score mark down the midle of the pill which would have made it easy to ake it into 2 5s). So, I'm so tired that I hanging on to get somewhere close to the evening so I can try one of these pachiderm gonad busters. I made it to about 7 and then took one. Miracle of miracles, within half an hour I'm asleep.
Avatar m tn It's interesting what you say about mixing glutamine in the food for better healing -- do you have any sources to support that theory? If so it would be great if you could share the name of the website (not the actual link as I think we're not allowed to do that).
Avatar n tn the first couple days it didn't seem like much had changed but by the end of the first week i'm almost completely free of lightheadedness. It's GREAT! I've also started on a new diet and I'm eating a bowl of cerel and a bananna each morning. I think it's working. I'm going ot keep it up for the month and then stop taking the vitamins to see if it returns. I still need to get into a better work out routine. But it's all about baby steps.
931217 tn?1283484935 Values, beliefs, hopes and biases infuse the way people feel about their bodies, their health and the way medical care is provided to them, however. Those psychological attributes of people, sometimes go against what is known about medical science and common sense. Homeopathy is one such case. If it is true, then what we know about chemistry cannot be.
734073 tn?1278899925 Stella is doing great on Erfa thyroid from Canada. Will you go that route? I worry that the feds will not allow us to get meds from them forever. Especially since the health care bill is in motion. Who knows what's included in there? foreverlostmom- You are giving me hope here! When are your labs? I look forward to seeing the results if you will be so kind as to share them? Also, do you have a thyroid gland? Thanks a million for all your help!
Avatar n tn If there is no difference in the effectivness of generic and brand...why does the brand cost as much as it costs? I have seen numerous neurologists and had tried all the generic with basically the same negative results...a hangover and experiencing a sureal feeling...even to the point of falling resulting in a head injury along with hip and knee injuries...all attributable to the generic. As it has been explained to me by the neurologists is that the filler is the key.
233488 tn?1310696703 In the former case, this is due to the fact that “Disease is a living experience for the man of flesh and bone. In contrast, health is a disembodied concept. It stimulates no emotional response because it is an inhuman, fleshless abstraction” (René Jules Dubos, The Silliman Lectures, Yale, 1965).1 As ophthalmologists, we are trained to evaluate eyes by seeking evidence of disease using biomicroscopy and ophthalmoscopy, as well as with diagnostic testing.
Avatar n tn The drug causes symptoms of Lupus, but will go away when the drug is stopped. Drugs known for this include Hydralazine, isoniazid, and several anti-convulsants given for psychological disorders and depression.
Avatar f tn I'm embracing the depression and tears. I'm not so much embracing the pain in my shins and my organs and my hair hurts my fingernails hurt. Please if it will help tell me.
Avatar n tn I have also battled depression for a number of years and after the first injection on the first knee I began to have a dark cloud hovering. Those of you who suffer depression will know what I am talking about. Each injection I would get the depression was greater. Has anyone experienced this.
541150 tn?1306037443 I found blood again and all the mucuse from the colon was covered in blood and loose stool. This morning the story was the same, or worse, so I think it's time for him to be seen again by his vet. I need prayers here. Treatment (antibiotics and prednisone) obviously didn't work. He is only 1 year old. I will keep you all updated as soon as I get back from the vet.

Avatar n tn Hello. The altered sensations you are having on the skin are not due to any skin disease. In all probabilities, these are symptoms of peripheral neuropathy. And it is changing places. t hints at some progressive injury to the peripheral nerves, or even higher up in the brainstem or the brain itself. A demyelinating disorder has to be ruled out. You can speak to the doctor about this.
Avatar n tn During pregnancy and during flu I've been very dehydrated, nauseous, so, perhaps, severe dehydration, and loss of minerals from the body causes smell distortion. Also, I've been using breath mints a lot last year, they also constrict vessels around mouth and respiratory system, kind of like certain medicines would do, including nasal spays, so, may be, all those reasons together contribute to condition.
Avatar n tn Anxiety CAN cause a lot of physical symptoms, but don't let people tell you that's why you feel the way you do. You have REAL physical symptoms and they are probably NOT caused by depression or anxiety. Rather your symp's probably cause the anxiety/depression. Who wouldn't have stress or get depressed feeling the way you described. Trust me, we understand! Lyme tests are usually wrong. Check these websites out: & http://www.anapsid.
Avatar n tn ive told doctors about it and they say it's the sun but I'm a couch guy. I live in Winnipeg Manitoba up in Canada in the winter the same doctor tells me it's the dryness from the cold. Do you have any remedies ?
