Avatar f tn Very often anxious people turn to comfort eating and eating too quickly and not chewing their food properly and get digestive problems. Medication for anxiety and depression also often causes digestive problems. Reflux, if you have it, is usually caused by incomplete digestion and laying down too soon after eating so that the gas goes up instead of staying in the abdomen.
Avatar f tn You learned a great lesson. Take it as that and keep moving forward. You know that changing it up plays tricks with your mind. That's the disease of addiction telling you that you messed up so why not just take more since you've blown it. You may have blown the plan at that moment but you have not lost this battle. Fight that demon with all you have! It doesn't deserve control of your life...you do! Keep on fighting!

1979418 tn?1432135441 Well, learned quite a lesson yesterday about how an accident / emergency can make all your MS symptoms disappear.... I had taken my car to a friends to have the rear brake cylinder looked at (was leaking brake fluid). He said quick fix, he would do it on the spot. Set me up in his living room with AC and water, but needed my help a couple times with pumping the brake pedal to bleed the system. Was several rounds of running up and down the outside steps... and it was hot as a biscuit....

Avatar f tn This is because I have been told by several doctors that interferon causes severe depression and so much so that some people that have been on it have been known to get so intensely depressed that they have committed suicide. The last psychiatrist and Hep C Dr. that I was seeing knew of my depression and both decided I was not a candidate for treatment. However there is hope. My new Hep C Dr. is now sending me to a new psychiatrist at the same hospital and told me this Dr.

685321 tn?1230951152 cid=36 To answer your main question, yes, MS and depression are closely linked. The disease itself often causes depression and that depression is often severe. Suicide is 7 times higher in people with MS than in the general population. But, the fatigue and discomfort of MS also lend themselves to being depressed, as does having a chronic and very unpredictable disease. I hope others will join in with suggestions on being supportive. I would recommend that you be prepared to be spontaneous.

I just wanted to let everyone know that i'm doing great. I really feel that if it weren't for this community I might not have made it through. To all of you just starting off the detox process, you can do it, you really can.

Avatar f tn ve been told by many heppers that have gone through tx...Also, ask your doc if he is seeing signs of severe depression/ psych issues...Sometimes, as patients, others see a problem before we do...If there is cause for concern, discuss medication options, if needed...And yes, stress alone affects the body...and can compound tx problems...You may need to have a sitter for an hour or two in the afternoon so you may take a nap to prevent from getting mowed down by fatigue...
Avatar n tn t have any problems with depression that I needed medication for. But last spring I had what I can only describe as a mental break down. It was like something in me just switched, I went from being fine to crying all the time, feeling hopeless, worthless, not eating. There were no real triggers, no stressful event. Then I started to feel better, and within two weeks I was back to normal, and thought that I was fine.
Avatar n tn As for your medication Lexapro is an SSRI used to treat major depression and generalized anxiety disorder. Trazadone is a tricyclic, which is older medication used to treat major depression. Different medications work differently foor different individuals and produce different side effects. If cost is an issue, I would discuss that issue with your doctor who can provide you with valuable advice about alternatives. A pharmacist is also a good resource.
306867 tn?1299249709 I think 2 of the most common causes of relapse are depression and lack of energy. Too many times people are under the impression that after the 7-10 days of withdrawal that they will be good as new (some lucky people are). I just wanted to post this for people just starting this journey. I think if people are made aware that it takes time, they will cut themselves some slack. Be patient with yourself. Energy can be very slow in returning, sometimes a few months.
Avatar m tn t help with depression and anxiety either. What you were doing was smoking pot and taking pills all which causes anxiety and depression, then taking medication to stop those effects! That's like taking uppers and downers at the same time! I wish you sucess on stopping those horrid pills, and hopefully your antidepressant will be able to finally work and your symptoms will finally be able to improve.
