Avatar n tn NOw she has increased my dosage to 20 mg for celexa and the lowest dose of clonazepam twice everyday. I am taking celexa regularly but i only take clonazepam once at night time, is it bad, do i have to take it twice as she had asked to. My reason for not taking in daytime is becasue i have three kids who are home these days and i cannot sleep while they are home or feel sleepy and suffer fro headaches if i dont sleep.
Avatar n tn I still ahve anxiety, my doctor gave me Celexa which is okay, my question is, is it okay to take Xanax and Celexa together? I used to take Xanax too for panic attacks, and for now I know it will make me feel better. Does anyone know if they can be taken together? I have never been hooked on Xanax at all, so that is not a problem.
Avatar n tn the first time i took a xanax i was hooked. i started taking it almost every day, if i could find it, and having a few drinks to increase the high. I then came in contact with the worst feeling in the world, NOT BEING ABLE TO GET A HOLD OF ANY XANAX. i then realized how addicting it was.
Avatar f tn I have recently (1 month ago) been prescribed xanax (.5mg x 3 a day) and celexa (20mg a day), and very recently I have been experiencing falls, black-outs, and bed wetting after having only a few drinks, meaning 3 small glasses of wine or a few beers. Has anyone else had these humiliating experiences???? Will these side effects wear off after being on the meds for a longer period of time if I continue to have a few drinks, or is this permanent?
Avatar f tn I was just diagnosed with an autoammune disease and don't want to take plaquenil just yet. Doctor said to take celebrex and a muscle relaxer. I have been taking 1 mg of xanax for 3 weeks and before that it was about twice a week as needed. I was having such anxiety and sleep issues rhemy said to take it every day. Now 3 weeks later she wants to try the new coctail of celebrex and muscle relaxer.
Avatar f tn 1) Is it typical and appropriate to prescribe daily doses of Klonopin, Lactical, Seroquel, AND Celexa (plus Xanax on an as needed basis)? 2) If so, would it be typical and appropriate for a patient who has never had a seizure, and has not been diagnosed with manic depression, schizophrenia, or any other psychosis? 3) Would the combination of these 4 (or 5) drugs be likely to cause a side effect of interference with thinking, memory, and speech?
Avatar f tn A friend gave us 2 8mg suboxone's and about 10 2mg xanax bars. I know you can't mix the xanax with suboxone, but what about the anti-depressents. A few times when we stopped we've taken suboxone and its helped alot with the whole cravings and energy thing. We are over the physical parts of the w/d's ....sort of. We are just always tired but cant sleep, very anxious, i cry a lot, and NO energy at all. would it hurt us to use 1/4 pieces as needed to help with those feelings?
Avatar n tn I was taking it fot anxiety and headache, but found myself using more and more and more...now they want me off Klonopin..tapering down from four using 1/2 mg less every four days...So far I have a horrible headache..and am using Busbar and Inderal to ease withdrawal...which may all be in my mind. I am with you in not understanding why I need to come off something that I don't abuse. I was taking my usual four klonopin for years, but it turned off it seems.
Avatar n tn I am currently dealing with xanax addiction. And for me it is harder to get off of than narcotics. Is yor family member currenly on any ssri's like paxil, celexa,or effexor? those also cause very wierd and worrisome withdraws. I'm no doctor, but you can have w/d symptoms long after detachement from aprazolam. andyK.
Avatar n tn i took celexia on friday and saturday and yesterday i felt worse than ever i felt like i was going through menopause and i had extreme fear while driving, for now im just taking xanax here and there and i took paxil but i felt more depressed, but slowly coming off, i did have some depression last week, i dont want to take anything anymore i was fine before i took all these different meds..im tring to keep busy, i have 3 kids and my husband and church to help me with depression.
Avatar n tn Xanax is another one of those horrible w/ds..so please be careful. And your right,, the celexa is not going to replace the xanax..whatever you do...please do not go up on them..It's so easy to take another one when we are stressed out..I am presently taking 1 mg/day..I did however successfully wean off of @6 mg/dy..I went really slow..I was on them for about 3 years when i did that..you can do this..it's just going to take some time..
Avatar n tn Celexa SSRI zaps (and Moshka could add 'pregnancy' too) and you may find a support board specifically to do with Celexa as there are for Paxil and Prozac. Hope neither of you get it too badly. All the best.
Avatar m tn When I went back to my doctor for a follow up on Friday, he also decided to put me on Xanax (PRN) and Celexa (10mg/1XD). I always research any medication I take, and have been reading that the Metoprolol Tartrate and the Citaprolam are a bad combination and can lead to extremely low blood pressure or even heart stoppage. I was wondering if anyone else out there has been prescribed these medications together, and if so, have you had any adverse reactions?
Avatar f tn After my twins were born almost four yeas ago, I suffered from ppd and started taking 10mg Prozac, which helped immediately, so I never increased the dosage to 20mg. Last October I found out my husband was having an affair for three years. I was beyond devastated. Now, 6 months later, I have been through hell, I've seen 3 therapists and a psychiatrist and my GP. I switched to Celexa in nov or dec, 20mg. End of January of this year, dose was doubled to 40mg.
Avatar m tn Do you think you really need to take xanax or klonopin? i think we get so accustomed to taking that and even sleep meds that our bodies don't know how to fall asleep by itself anymore. Do you get alot of exercise? I find that when I work out and get alot of exercise daily, I fall asleep alot better. just like our kids do when they go go go all day...
Avatar n tn I am a chronic patient of panic attacks, palpitation and anxiety and tried each of the above-mentioned medications, such as Librium, Valium, Ativan and Xanax. I found Ativan and Xanax more effetive and suitable. My physician has advised to add up Buspar, 5 MG combined with Xanax 0.5 MG Does somone at the Forum has some experioence and information about Buspar?
Avatar m tn When I am not taking my meds, I am tired, can sleep all day, am completely unmotivated to do anything and do not want to socialize with anyone. I have tried several different meds and am currently taking Celexa and Adderall XR. My psy says that adding the Adderall will "kick in the Celexa" and make it work better. I have a love/hate realationship with the Adderall. Although I am prescribed 20 mg Adderall XR 3 times a day, I never take all 3 pills a day.
Avatar n tn Hi. I'm new here, and the forum for asking the doctor has reached it's limit of questions for the day, so I came here. I took Ativan (2 mgs 3x/day) for about 4 years. I ended up with no insurance and it was too expensive to continue, so my doctor switched me to Xanax (2 mgs 3x/day). I had no problem with that switch over. Ativan is definitely my drug of choice, but I just couldn't afford it. The price has come down and my doctor has written me a script for Ativan (2 mgs 3x/day).
Avatar m tn Not only was I taking Xanax but also Celexa. That did not work and switched to Cympalta, then Zoloft, then Prozac, then amitryptaline and finally said ENOUGH! I want my life back. To say the last 5 years of my life was "Hell on earth" woudl be the understatement of the century. Along with the Xanax, for the 5 years, my doctor had me taking 80mgs daily of a drug called Protonix which is a PPI...like Prilosec or Zantac. As I said...
1069644 tn?1276932463 I've been taking Xanax for approx 30 years for anxiety. I began with 1 mg per day and a few years ago had to go up to 3 mg per day AS NEEDED. My average dose was 1 per day unless I had a panic attack or dizziness. I did notice a few years ago that the government was limiting how many refills doctors could give. I started out with a years worth of refills then it went to six months and I had to call. Then 3 months and a call.
Avatar f tn I have tried to switch over to ativan, serax, and xanax and just dump the valium all together to give the other ones a go but I can't do it because the valium withdrawals start kicking in. The only drug I have been able to completely switch back over is klonopin where I did a valium taper and added klonopin over a period of a few weeks and I didn't notice any withdrawals from valium doing that.
Avatar f tn They are very effective for anxiety as well as depression. Benzo's like xanax and klonopin may help anxiety short term but aren't effective for depression alone and may in fact make it worse. They are good for panic attacks but you should look toward an antidepressant for better results. Talk to your doctor about this and when your problem is better controlled you can start to taper off the benzo's.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have been on both separately and now I am taking them together, 300 mg. a day of Effexor and 20 mg. Celexa and 30 mg. of Risperdal The Effexor by far is better to treat depression in my experence but it is a brutal withdrawal. The Celexa alone did nothing for me but together I am responding very good. If it were me, I would try the Celexa first and if that doesn't help go for the Effexor or on of the other antidepressants that are available till you find what works best for you.
Avatar n tn My doctor wanted me to go on Lexapro but it increased my anixiety which I was told would last about 3 weeks and level off and then I would be able to stop taking xanax.. I took the lexapro for one day and decided that replacing one drug with another is not the way to go since Lexapro is addictive also but not as addictive as Xanax. So I am tappering it is my 3rd day now and I take .25mg every 26hrs. It is pretty tough in between but exercise will help and keeping your mind busy will help.
Avatar n tn I am glad to of found this information. I am taking 4 to 6 Fiorinal a day and was told i couldn't do it myself and had to go to detox. I am petrified to go to a hospital let alone detox. I feel they will just fill me with other drugs than may not work or result in bad side effects, and let me lay there with a pounding head. I really can't stand when my head pounds, or gets this terrible pressure (i have had scans and an MRI).
Avatar n tn I was on welbutrin 150mg then increased to 300mg it maid me feel horrible, loss of appetite, ihad a funny feeling in my throat and mouth. I finally put 2 and 2 together and realized it was making me more anxious and triggering horrible panic attacks. My doc gave it to me for depresion along with remeron 60 mg and klonopin2mg at night and I took the wellbutrin in the morning. it just did not agree with me at all I had to quit taking it.
Avatar f tn I have taken probably 90 mg of Ativan all together since the 14 th of Dec, my script ran out and I recently got some Xanax blue footballs from a friend. The first day I took 1 and a half and the second day I took 3 all together, should I continue to take them until the ssri's kick in ? I'm just afraid of withdrawl off benzos as I've heard horror story's but I feel like it's keeping me level until the celexa kicks in. Looking for some good insight !!!
225570 tn?1191290673 My whole family on my moms side suffers from anxiety and panic, and effexor actually got my cousin who was taking xanax for 8 years off the xanax and his anxiety and panic attacks have gone away. I know how you feel and I have never wanted to be on any drug and the effexor over time is supposed to ween me off the xanax.
