My moods still swing, but no where near as bad as they were with Celexa. Also, with the Celexa, my mood would swing towards bad mania, which is the worst part of the disorder for me.

t personally recommend you stop taking Celexa but take both if you want to quit Celexa you must at least taper it slowly. Maybe switch Celexa to another SSRI like Lexapro or Prozac. The bad things you read about Wellbutrin are probably that it lowers the seizure's threshold and it is true but there should not be anything to be worried about if you are not suffering from epilepsy or taking the medication as indicated by your doctor.

my dr wants me to try wellbutrin in the monring n celexa at night...i was on celexa and gained 18 lbs..i am sensitive with my weight i do not wanna gain weight...has anyone been on these combos ?

At the time, I was taking wellbutrin and celexa. I began taking notes on the events, and found that when I became agitated, irritated by people, that is experiencing negative emotions, THAT was when these episodes begin. Once, when my celexa ran out and it was a week before I could refill it, I noticed the intensity of these episodes was greatly reduced.

My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. I've been taking Celexa for the past 3 yrs and I think its time for me to change my meds.

First it was zoloft that has awful sexual side effects, and in turn would cause problems with my husband. Now I am on celexa which I absolutely HATE!!! I am so tired. I have four children and I dread everyday that i have to get up. I do not have any energy nor motivation to do anything no matter how hard i try. My doctor now wants to switch me to lexapro which is not on the $4 plan. I do not want to keep switching from one to another. Does anyone know how lexapro is?

Hi. I started wellbutrin xl 150 mg a few months ago after having tachycardia chest tightness and panic. Upped it to 300 mg after a few weeks. I also have clorazepate (tranxene) 7.5 mg for when needed. Then after having tachycardia still I started metoprolol 25 mg (which I cut in half) to help with daily anxiety and lower my heart rate. It has definitely lowered my heart rate but I still don't feel right. Still have an uneasy feeling and tightness in my chest.

m afraid of the side effects that may come with it. Will this medication give me the same side effects as the Celexa did?

I had the same problem when I switched form celexa to wellbutrin. Wellbutrin did nothing for me. (BTW there isn't much difference between lexapro and celexa except celexa probably won't give you much weight gain) So when Wellbutrin didn't work I wen't on paxil and gained some weight but sexual side effects remained. Then I quit paxil and now take effexor with clonazepam. I feel OK so far but still too early to judge.

I just started wellbutrin four days ago. I am taking 150mg XL with Lamictal. (The reason I started the Wellbutrin is because I was taking Celexa and couldn't handle the weight gain). The last two days I have been edgy, angry, yelling, up and down in my emotions. Fine one hour and angery the next. This is worse then when I wasn't on it. I am wondering if these are symptoms starting out with it, gets worse then better? Did anyone have side effects starting this medication? Thanks.

re suffering withdrawal from the wellbutrin, or side effects from Celexa. Quitting an antidepressant abruptly is not advised -- although wellbutrin isn't one of the worst for withdrawal, they can all be difficult to stop taking and usually are tapered off. This is especially true when switching to a med in a completely class.

I am FREAKING OUT. Not sure if it's withdrawals from Celexa, or side effects from the Wellbutrin SR. Took 40mg of Celexa for a year and Psychiatrist switched me to Wellbutrin SR 150mgs a day. He told me to stop the Celexa cold turkey. That I'd be fine, and just start taking the Wellbutrin SR the next day. This was on Oct 4th that I started the Wellbutrin SR and stopped the Celexa.

Why did you start taking Celexa if the Welbutrin worked well for you? Just wondering. I take Celexa and had the same prob in the beginning. It did go away. My anxiety is not completely gone. Just thinking that maybe I should have tried Welbutrin. Did it keep you awake???

I am on Wellbutrin for the last 4 weeks and have lost 5 lbs. The way I can describe it is, I don't feel like I'm starving when I get hungry. It takes away that feeling for me. I still eat, but I eat less and feel fuller sooner.

Most side effects go away with time. Celexa gave me a disgusting yawn every few minutes that lasted all day long but one day I noticed it had left. Another good source for info is your pharmacist as they see many people with each drug. I used a 24 hour pharmacy because sometimes a frightening problem would crop up and it was nice to be able to get reassurance that it was not an issue to worry about or usually not even something related to the med.

If the Celexa is working, you can also consider adding wellbutrin to it. Keep in mind that wellbutrin is a very stimulating antidepressant and if anxiety is a primary problem it can make it worse. Doesn't mean it will, but you should know this. If it's all a result of depression it's less likely to do this.

Everything was normal, including my EKG. For a long time adding the Wellbutrin after taking Effexor for several months helped a tun and I was feeling great. The Wellbutrin decreased some side effects of the Effexor too. I don't know why things have changed. I have no insurance right now. Usually wellbutrin is added to an ssri such as celexa to counteract some of the side effects, such as weight gain or loss of sexual capacity or desire. To go on all three at once doesn't allow the person to see what the side effects are or what works. To see how this process works, I believe the study is still on the NIMH website.

I had a horrible episode that started right before the holidays of anxiety. I am on 80 mg of celexa, 100 mg of wellbutrin, 50 mg of lamicatal 50 mg of seraquel ( at night ) and 2 mg. of klonopin tid ( upped from .5 tid before episode , also the lamictal and seraquel were added and wellbutrin dropped from 300 mg a day to 100). My question is this: I started feeling better and my pdoc and I decided to drop the klonopin to 1 mg in the am, 1/2 mg. in the afternoon, and 1 mg. in the evening.

Hi I have taking Wellbutrin for some time now....I tried other anti-depressants along the way - 20+yrs.....and think wellbutrin works the best for me and has the fewest side-effects....But...I do have serious trouble with sleep and one of the listed side-effects of W. is insomnia. My dose was increased from 150 to 300 at one time but it didn't help me feel better and my insomnia got worse... Now I have problems with meds for sleeping which is awful....
