Also important is the severity of the Bronchomalacia, that can vary from mild to very severe. What the pulmonologist may have observed may be mild Bronchomalacia in the final stages of resolution. These are questions you should ask of the pulmonologist. I assume that she is a Pediatric Pulmonologist and should be able to answer your questions.

He gave me some antibiotics... which after i came home and looked up... its one of those ones that they have the horrible lawyer ads for cuz they are so harsh/bad for you. I called his nurse to ask if i could get something not quite as harsh for my bronchitis!

For example, did they fail to send you to an allergist for testing to see if you have any severe allergants that you should be avoiding if indeed severe chronic coughing is an allergy symptom in your case?
Did they not suggest they refer you to a pulmonary specialist for lung function testing?
Do they say you have chronic bronchitis?
Have they checked you for acid reflux, which can cause coughing?
Yes, it *is* definitely possible. There is something called silent acid reflux, where you have reflux but don't feel any heartburn symptoms. For the first year I had acid reflux, this is what I had, and my only symptom was a persistent cough that never went away, plus a propensity for getting bronchitis with high frequency. When my reflux is bad, the acid gets into my lungs and causes me to cough.
