Avatar f tn I have read some different articles and some have said that hepatitis B can be spread through saliva and to avoid sharing utensils with someone who has chronic hepatitis B. Others have said HBV can't be spread through saliva. Was just wondering if anyone had some type of clear answer to whether it can be spread through saliva, utensils, etc.
Avatar n tn My husband had been off ribavirin/interferon for two weeks and after a couple days of reduced coughing he is now back to the chronic cough he had during treatment. he did 16 weeks of treatment and then had to stop due to weight loss, coughing etc. He showed no viral load at 8 weeks and 12 weeks. Has anyone else experienced prolonged coughing after being off the drugs? During treatment he coughed while up but the coughing would stop when he laid down.
Avatar m tn First a little esp after exercise and then more and more. Coughing would continue until I expelled phlegm which was light color. At night coughing could be initiated by changing sleep positions and more phlegm. Wheezing common but constant cough is the worse. Continue to feel that I have to expel. Allergist checked for allergies found none, respirologist scoped lungs and were ok, biopsy ok also. Rescue inhalers and steroidal inhalers(Symbicort,Zenhale, Nasonex) did not show improvement.
Avatar f tn I have been getting treatment for asthma for over three years now....neublizer w/xopenex...flomax, advair, asthmanex, to name a few...I am still coughing like crazy. I had allergy tests and have been on Allegra and a nasal spray....no relief. It appears that all of a sudden my throat is dry and has a "catch" in it and I start coughing and then water pours out of my eyes and tons of mucous pours out of my mouth.
Avatar f tn Coughing can have many different reasons, some of them more serious. An often missed cause for chronic coughing is chronic sinusitis. There's more information on that here: medicalnewstoday.com/articles/33188.php I hope this may help you, best of luck.
676912 tn?1332812551 Hey ladies, other than baby vicks (put it on a sock in her bassinet instead of on her) and a humidifier, what's good for coughing? Aubryana's only 8 weeks old, I took her to the dr Mon or Tues and she said that she just has a virus...she seems to me like it's an upper respiratory infection, she's sneezing a lot, coughing, and stuffy. Not much comes out when I use the saline drops and suction bulb. :( She's too little to be sick!
Avatar f tn There has been some improvement but I still wake up in the morning coughing, and I still have coughing spells that result in vomiting mucus. My doctor told me I have mild COPD. I'm 25 years old and never smoked a day in my life. I'm going to see a pulmonary doctor for a second opinion.
Avatar n tn I am constantly coughing. People know when I am around just by hearing my cough. I do it so often, I have become used to it and carry on as if it is normal but I know that it isn't. I am fine for a while and suddenly I have to cough. Sometimes the cough turns into a fit and makes me feel like throwing up. Sometimes my eyes water, throat itches and it simply wears me out. I am convinced that I am suffering from allergies but my doctor wants to be sure that my lungs are ok.
87651 tn?1259602403 I had my TT on Thursday and occassionally I get this cough but more like a tickle in my throat. Anyone experience this? Is this normal? I would think so, but just asking. Also, its been about 4-5 days post surgery and I am starting to feel very tired, weak but still jittery. I take it this is normal too??
Avatar f tn The chronic cough and shortness of breath are common side effects of Inf/Riba. You might talk to your doctor about taking an antihistamine to reduce the post nasal drip and cough reflex. I take claritin which helps this. Also, I see you're able to post under your original name so good to see you got your posting problems worked out. http://hepatitiscnewdrugs.blogspot.com/2010/10/chronic-coughpegylated.
Avatar n tn That is exactly how I started and it got worse and worse until I was waking myself (and everyone else in the house) up 4-6 times a night and was exhausted from coughing so much.
Avatar n tn Infants have weaker immune systems because of this and other antibodies are in lower supply also, compared to adults anyway. Chronic recurring upper respiratory infections are extremely common in anyone with immune deficiency. Beyond this I don't know what to add except it's very important that they identify the specific pathogen(s) that is making him sick, because there can be atypical infections from bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.
Avatar m tn Abstract Mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B virus (HBV) is among the most important causes of chronic HBV infection and is the commonest mode of transmission worldwide. Currently, the presence of HBsAg, HBeAg and HBV DNA in breast milk is confirmed. Several studies have reported that breastfeeding carries no additional risk that might lead to vertical transmission.
Avatar f tn For the past 9 months I have been coughing when I talk and breathe I have a coughing fit my Dr sending me to have a breathing test I told my Dr it's my throat when I swallow I can feel something.
Avatar n tn Are you coughing because of thick mucus in your throat? If so try taking 500 mg. of vitamin B5 daily. It is a mucus thinner and works beautifully. That is what I use it for. There are no side effects. You can go as high as 1000 mg. Now even though they could find no allergies that doesn't mean you don't have any. Her is something else to try: buy a bottle of liquid Benadryl (the stuff they use for kids).
Avatar f tn My 16 year old son started coughing 3 weeks ago. The doctor said the cough was hollow and put him on z-pack. He finished the z-pack last week and he's still coughing (no phlegm). We thought it was getting better (using cold and allergy syrup) but it was bad last night after he was playing various sports all night. He is fine during sleep and he said he did not cough in school at all.
