Quick carb free dinner

Common Questions and Answers about Quick carb free dinner

carb

Avatar f tn If your on a gd diet you just have to manage your protein and carbs. You can pop something in the oven and eat meat just watch the starch you pair with it. I usually eat a lot of meat since it's carb free to help feel me up and double up on veggies and keep my bread/rice/pasta/potatos/beans to very minimal.
Avatar f tn I usually do at lunch or dinner. I also buy the fruit cups that are sugar free for a "free snack" when I'm craving some fruit. It's my understanding you can subsitute some high fiber grams for carb grams, but I'm unsure how to do the calculations so I don't bother. If you like bread Nature's own has some low cal, low carb whole wheat with fiber, white and honey wheat bread.
1301482 tn?1325722991 i have a friend that did low carb, but honestly she may have overdone it..she literally ate less than 10 carbs in total a day. And she lost a TON of weight, but unless she eats like that forever she'll gain it back as quick as she lost it. I have heard a lot of people say low carb works for them, but I can't seem to stick to it!!
Avatar m tn After my last post I have been taking my bs readings before dinner and 2 hours after dinner, they been running in the 80s to mid 90s before and 130 to 140 after. I think this seems in target range, but today before dinner it was 86 and 2 hours later it was 210, never this high before. I did have a nice helping of whole wheat noodles with spag sauce and a small slice of bread. Was it the meal. SOULD i be concerned with this one high reading, are these #s good enough to stay off the meds.
Avatar n tn If your blood sugar is 245 you need insulin. Talk to your dr. You also need to eat low carb and maybe less food at dinner so you can't go so high. If you go this even without eating, then you need insulin.
Avatar n tn What are some great quick and easy meals for breakfast lunch and dinner that are super low carb... I am a type one diabetic and because of the medicine im on its hard to loose weight... But this has worked in the past and I am bored of eating the same meals over and over ... Thank you !
Avatar m tn Are you following a lower carb diet with your daughter? A high carb diet can make blood sugars very hard to control (and need lots of insulin). Low carb is safe for children and doesn't affect growth (it is the very high blood sugars that are not safe, and which restrict physical and mental development of children). If you are interested to know more about low carb and diabetes management, I can refer you to read Dr. Richard Bernstein "Diabetes Solutions".
7791326 tn?1396488062 I stick to a simple plan of 30 carbs for breakfast, 45 carbs for lunch and 60 carbs for dinner with a 15 carb snack 2 hrs after each meal. Good luck!
Avatar f tn consume lean protein throughout the day. Here are some quick and easy ways to work this into every meal. BREAKFAST: eggs, egg whites, lean breakfast meats, Greek yogurt, smoothies with protein powder. LUNCH OR DINNER: salmon, chicken breasts, extra-lean ground turkey, extra-lean ground beef, turkey or chicken sausage, lean beef , tuna, cod, shrimp, tofu.
Avatar n tn Eating dinner earlier may help, too, so you have a better idea of whether your dinner quick-acting insulin was enough.
Avatar f tn Sugars still not managed after lots of oral medication and a near carb-free diet, so visiting the perinatologist next week for insulin and hopefully much better control. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I am looking for some type of electronic, hand-held carb counter that has a library of foods pre-programmed into it. I would like it to be able to plug in the portion size and have it calculate the total carbs. Plus, I'd like to be able to add foods to it. Although his pump can do some of this already, I'd like to have a separate calculator that isn't attached to his body. I would also like to get a dry/liquid measuring set and a kitchen scale for home use.
Avatar n tn It seems to peter out sort of slowly sometime in that time frame, leaving very little Lantus working to help with his dinner-time quick-acting insulin. So it may take more insulin in the evenings than at other mealtimes to cover the same amount of carbs. Some of us prefer to split the Lantus dose, taking some in the morning and some in the evening to equal the complete dose. That way, only half is petering out after 20 hours, and the sugar levels stay more even throughout the day.
594189 tn?1386916607 There are many workout videos online that are free that you can do at home before work or when you get home, before dinner. You can even do them while you watch TV at night! So long as you get it in, doesn't matter what time of day. You cannot just do cardio- you must do weight training. I used 3 lb dumbells when I worked out. You have to break a sweat and really workout if you have serious weight to lose. I also have PCOS. I don't have insulin resistance but I do take Metformin.
429164 tn?1321558847 8 before a meal and under 7.8 after a meal. I managed to find an online shop which stocks sugar free, carb free and no added sugar items-don't know what I'd do without chocolate! I've learned about glycemic load, which means even when something is low in carbs and sugar it can hit quicker than something which appears to be higher. Just to make matters more confusing.
1533382 tn?1357962152 I'm 31weeks 3 days pregnant and last week I found out I have gestational diabetes. I've been on a 'carb counting' diet ever since and have to check my sugar levels 4 times a day keeping it in a certain range. I've noticed over my week of this diet that anything that's actually a full meal, be it mostly protein and no carbs or under my carb limits spikes my levels.
4287262 tn?1358999012 I cook a full dinner, meaning Meat, Veggies, and a carb/bread usually around 7pm I eat dinner. But by like 9-10pm I am starving again. Like tonight I have been so hungry and don't really have any snacks in the house other than an orange, which i have been eating non stop. And now i am weighing my options of stop being lazy and making myself some pancakes, or just keep eating another orange. But they aren't doing anything for me. Help me please! I want to stop being so hungry before bed.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, it would be really difficult to do that, what with everyone having different restrictions (low sodium, low carb, low sugar, sugar free, lactose intolerance, gluten free, etc.), allergies, taste preferences, cooking skills, and the like. Perhaps visiting with a nutritionist would benefit you, so your diet can be personally tailored to you and your needs. I'm sorry we can't be of more service.
Avatar n tn I eat breakfast 15 gram carbs, snack 15 grams carb, lunch 60 grams carb, snack 30 grams carb, dinner 60 grams carb, snack 15 grams carb. Its crazy. This is my first pregnancy.
Avatar n tn Now sugar alcohols (mannitol, sorbitol, anything-itol) --typically used as sweeteners in alleged low-carb or sugar free foods -- are a bit less straightforward and are the source of much confusion. Even for Atkins dieters, and even tho' the food labelling will subtract out all the gms of "itols" to come up with their net carb numbers, for diabetics taking insulin those sugar alcohols can't really be ignored.
Avatar f tn I have GD and I meet with a nurse about every 2 weeks or so to go over my meal log. They would like me to eat 30-45 grams of carbs for breakfast, 15-30 for snacks in between meals, 45-60 for lunch and 45-60 for dinner. There are a bunch of veggies and some other foods that are considered "free foods" meaning they don't spike your blood sugar at all and someone will go over all of that with you. Avoid soda, cereal, and sweets as they tend to cause a spike.
