Avatar f tn I need to lose 80 lbs. and have osteoarthritis. I've been on a low carb diet twice and both times the arthritis has flared and become quite painful. I think it's an excess of protein. How else can I lose weight? I can't stand being hungry and have good weight loss results with low carb. Help please!
Avatar f tn Wordpress is very easy to use and free. You do need to have a server space to host your blog - I use gator for my server. I believe this might be all free under the google blog site. good luck in getting started - it is very therapeutic and a good way to share your experiences.
1853014 tn?1340038575 I think this is the blog you are talking about. It is excellent. You can see there are many, many pages of valuable information. Plus it is written very well and has some humor too. http://hep-free.
988694 tn?1332359479 Hi, low carb diet works wonders for diabetics. I went on a low carb diet, lost approx 100 lbs ! which put my diabetic levels back into normal range. As for thyroid function, I never noticed any changes in my hormone labs, due to low carb diet.
Avatar f tn At this time when I eat very little sugar, or higher carb cakes (I live gluten free life, but flours like white rice flour has high carbs, that I coud not avoid yet, but I'm working on it). So when I eat a self-baked gluten free biscuit with higher carb flours, I get this strange vibration. Like an earthquake inside me. What do you think, can this be a withdrawal symptom of sugar? I hope so, and just hope that it will go away when my body will adjust.
4489852 tn?1375753951 This is not a question, but I wanted to post my blog on here for other people to read if they wanted to. I had a hard time finding a chiari blog that was kept up to date and was current, so I wanted to start one not only so that i could have record of everything, but also so that other people could read my story and see that they are not alone in this fight. This is the blog I started in April.
Avatar f tn This diet is also called the LCHF (low carb high fat) diet (see the blog Diet Doctor for more info). I eat the LCHF diet and my cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglycerides are all in optimal range, i'm losing weight and improving my insulin resistance. It's a diet that can help more than seizures. :) "After 4 weeks we weaned his Depokote and put him on Zonegram. That didn't help either. Nathan was started on a diet for Seizure control...Ketogenic Diet.
Avatar n tn I went low carb (carbohydrate) Diet that necessitates low grain.
Avatar f tn t let yourself drink your sugar - fruit juice is filled with sug, soda is of course, Gatorade, basically any drink that tastes sweet is high in sug), you need to monitor your carb intake - starchy foods like potatoes, corn, and beans are high - carb and grains are high carb so they need to be limited. Fruit is also high carb, though it's better for you than sugar or grains. Your main diet should consist of high protien, high fat, and vegetables.
Avatar f tn I have been having these episodes for over 15 years and it has been a long, exhausting fight to try and get answers. Please read my blog and pass my story on to anyone who might be willing to help me.I need a neurologist willing to work with me and see me on short notice so that I can get testing during an episode of weakness. Over the course of many many years I have had to wait months to see a neurologist and by the time any testing was done, I was symptom free and nothing showed up.
1451080 tn?1438527660 As a family of 5 with two children and myself being on meds and only one person working, I need some economical low carb ideas for meals and/or snacks. The low carb thing is new to my entire family. Any info would be helpful. Also, any info on how to naturally lower my blood pressure is also welcome. Thanks!
Avatar n tn we bought the book at Barnes and Nobles for $7. It is our bible! It has just about everything in it.
Avatar f tn The first diet you could try to help control your symptoms is a gluten free diet. A gluten free diet is a diet free of wheat, barley, rye and possibly oats. A gluten intolerance (which is when someone doesn't have the enzymes or not enough enzymes to break down the gluten in the above foods) can cause all of your above symptoms - PCOS, RA, hypoglycemia, etc. It's easy to look this up on the internet.
Avatar f tn I usually do at lunch or dinner. I also buy the fruit cups that are sugar free for a "free snack" when I'm craving some fruit. It's my understanding you can subsitute some high fiber grams for carb grams, but I'm unsure how to do the calculations so I don't bother. If you like bread Nature's own has some low cal, low carb whole wheat with fiber, white and honey wheat bread.
Avatar n tn The high levels of fat in my diet help keep me satiated and promotes weight loss. I also tend to avoid artificial sweeteners as much as possible. I eat gluten free and grain free.
1401296 tn?1280799533 however, my feeling is that your body needs all of the food groups, so by cutting out carbs, you could be depriving your body of necessary nutrients, etc. If you do go on a carb free diet and lose weight, most likely, you will gain it back if you go off the plan. If you stick with the complex carbs - fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc - and eliminate the simple carbs - such as sugar, white flour, regular pasta, etc, - you should do better. Of course, you still have to limit your portions.
Avatar f tn You deffinantly need some carbs but reduce how many you eat and see if that helps. Meats are carb free most cheeses some sugar free stuff is low in carbs but not always carb free. That is a big mistake sometimes people make thinking that just because its sugar free its ok but sometimes sugar free stuff is still loaded with carbs. Example i was going to buy peeps for her for easter they were sugar free but still loaded with 28 carbs.
Avatar m tn My question is would Weight Watchers be a good diet for me go follow or the carb counting one i am on now ? I just found out i have to eat gluten free foods also this is why i am confused on which diet i should follow i am use to the carb counting .
2161096 tn?1336884455 Avoid All junk food and consume a low carb diet, rich in fresh vegetables, mercury-free fish, some pastured meat and poultry, organic eggs, legumes and a very small quantity of whole grain foods, some seeds and some nuts. Daily activities like walking, biking, swimming will keep you toned and healthy. Do not look at the scale. Look at your body and your belt, as muscle takes less space than fat, but weighs more! drink lots of spring water-avoid plastic bottles.
Avatar n tn Now sugar alcohols (mannitol, sorbitol, anything-itol) --typically used as sweeteners in alleged low-carb or sugar free foods -- are a bit less straightforward and are the source of much confusion. Even for Atkins dieters, and even tho' the food labelling will subtract out all the gms of "itols" to come up with their net carb numbers, for diabetics taking insulin those sugar alcohols can't really be ignored.
Avatar f tn My suggestion to MedHelp would be that if a blogger was to place your advertisement on their blog, for free, that the blog be allowed to publicly share their blog on the MedHelp forums despite having self-advertisement. I think that would only be fair as most bloggers charge advertisers for ad space.
