Pepper company makes are low carb. I got some 10 calorie gingerale its got 2 carbs. Taste a step up from diet. I drink one a day from time to time. And they have these zero calorie vitamin waters that are good and super low carb to.
Avatar f tn I have a sleeping disorder and I would do nocturnal eating, are you aware of what you do, or you find the evidence in the morning? I suggest eating a carb like toast or cereal or some fruit, which should bring up your sugar levels to ease the cravings instead of going for the sweets, it's damn hard. I find in general hard to avoid sweets, I was a serious pop addict and now drinking a ton of calorie free flavoured water, it's worked really well!
Avatar f tn Low blood sugar and low serotonin levels can both cause food cravings. Serotonin is a hormone in the brain that helps make you feel good. When it is low, sadness or depression may result. Eating sugar or other simple carbohydrates helps temporarily because they stimulate serotonin release. If you are insulin resistant your body is still making insulin but the cells do not respond to it you may also develop persistent food cravings.

1394098 tn?1385960134 I read online that cats can't taste sweets. But if that's true why does my cat love marshmallows and fat free pudding and cake frosting. Idont give her these things regularly. But she loves to have just very tiny amount when I'm eating it. She can hardly wait for me to finish a pudding cup so she can lick it and the spoon.
Avatar n tn Eat protein, fats and some complex carbs. These should help keep your sugar levels stable. Sweets make your sugar high and then it will possibly drop low, so it is best to avoid and / or strictly limit sweets.
639406 tn?1308877111 But being pre-diabetic also means there is a good chance you can turn this around with diet and exercise. Eat a low carb diet, avoiding the bad carbs like white flour, pasta, sweets. Read labels and educate yourself on what you can and can't eat. Low carb, no trans fats, lean meats, avoid white bread...anything made with white flour. Exercise is very important. Goodle "diabetic diet" and learn what to eat and what not to eat.
Avatar f tn I pray every day that i can win this addiction i just want 2 be the best person i can be and i know until i am free from this drug that wont happen.
Avatar f tn Nothing - and I do mean NOTHING takes the fat off. Calorie restriction. Low carb high fat. Moderate carb/higher protein. Weight loss medication (Phentermine). Exercise is dance class 2-3X a week, and strength training 3x. I have a job where I stand a lot. My diet when I am not attempting to lose fat is has been very high carb in the past, as sugar and sweet cravings the last few years have been off the chart. Like... I cannot even describe how bad the sugar cravings have been.
Avatar n tn I have heard low carb works wonders for fertility. Over-indulging in sweets can lead to being overweight, which is often a big part of infertility problems. Oh, and I also read somewhere to stay away from Green Peas. That's all i can think of.
1083184 tn?1256393035 I was recently diagnosed the end of June of this year with Type 2 Diabetes. I am on metformin 100mg in the evening with dinner. My question is that whenever (most times) I eat, I get very sleepy. Doesn't matter if I am eating something that is basically carb free, I get to the point where I can't keep my eyes open. This is very unusual for me because I have had problems with sleep due to another medical condition for years.
Avatar n tn During a doctor visit took A1C test. Number was 6.3. Doctor diagnosed me with diabetes and put me on Metformin. Three months later took another A1C, number went down to 5.7. three months after that took another A1C test, number was 5.3 and doctor took me off Metformin. Went back 3 more times after that every 3 month for testing. Number never went up pass 5.3. It's been 2 yrs now and number has never gone up. Every once in awhile I check my blood glucose level with my meter at home.
Avatar m tn Low carb. Cut out soda, candy & other sweets. Bump up your veggies & fruits, lean cuts of meat. Exercise.
Avatar f tn well i got digestinal diabetes while pregnant and my question is after i have the baby how do i know if the diabetes goes away do u eat normally like u ate before and check ure sugars to see if your body responds or do u keep yourself on the diet u have been and for how long after, also what could happen if u eat sweets right after delivery (craving cheese cake and icescream for the longest time)???
Avatar f tn I've been dealing with it for about 12 weeks now. It gets easier as you get used to what your body can handle. I've been able to control it with diet alone and no insulin. For me it's mostly about portion control and getting more fruits and veggies and less sweets. Pairing a protein or veggie with your carb usually helps to balance your numbers. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I am a bit over weight and doing really well I know weigh 62kg. I just find the temptation to hard when all me friends are eating sweets and chocolate and I can't resist it! Any tips on self control?
Avatar f tn Go for a little walk everyday if you can, twice if possible. Protein protein protein is all I can say. I tried my hardest to go carb free but I have 4 other kids and it just became impossible for me to eat differently than the other 5 people in my house. I'm 35 weeks now, and at this point I'm not eating too much differently than I did pre pregnancy. I just eat half as much of the carb and twice as much of the protein.
Avatar n tn what raises blood sugar is carbohydrates, so as a rule (diabetes is all about exceptions to rules!) the more carbs you take in, the higher your blood sugar. High carb foods include pasta, potatoes, rice, cereal, bread and sweets. Some people find they can eat whole grains with less effect than white versions of these foods; some find it makes no difference. Fruit, which we think of as a healthy food is also high in carbs so you need to eat it in moderation as well.
Avatar f tn During those 2 weeks I had to eat a certain diet which consisted of 3 carbs for breakfast, 1 carb for an A.M snack, 4 carbs for lunch, 1 carb for P.M snack, 4 carbs for dinner and 2 carbs for evening snack...of course i also had to eat proteins and veggies as well included with the carbs..... It was actually alot of food too eat and didn't get everything in everyday. I also had to test my blood 4 times a day and check my keytones, which is the peeing on a stick thing.
Avatar f tn s rough and yes the sweets and quick fix stuff is extra tempting but continue on your diet even if it bites. I eventually got used to it. Make sure other people know what you can and cannot have that way they won't offer it to you. I have about 8 weeks left. Hang in there Mama. You can do it....... :-) best of luck.
Avatar f tn Once you start checking your sugars the nutritionist will help you modify if needed. I still have sweets like sugar free jello and whipped cream in a can pretty much no carbs. I have found sugar free cookies. Over thanksgiving I did a Apple pie with splenda and all my readings were fine. Try not to stress the meal plan can take some time to adjust but it's totally worth it in the end. I'm 36 week +1 and had my ultrasound today my little guy is perfect!
Avatar f tn Candy is candy, and none of it will be good for you; you could try opting for sugar free candies, but just because they are sugar free, don't think you can eat all you want, because they still have calories. Regarding the candy canes - why not try replacing them with an apple? An apple has only 80-90 calories, plus tons of nutrients and fiber, whereas the candy canes are pure sugar, which means you would be getting 120 *empty* calories, as are the other candies you mentioned.
