Avatar m tn Hello, i'm taking about 3 months propranolol 10mg for migraines - twice a day, morning and evening. I suffer from social anxiety, but the doctor does not know .. The problem of migraines is separately When i have Anxiety attack i am sweating a lot, especially the plams. But in normal circumstances I would not sweat, but lately I'm sweating all the time and from places that I was not sweating before - legs, underarms, back, hands-like all the time !!!
Avatar f tn Hi, I have suffered with migraines for many years & was placed on prophylactic meds-Cymbalta & Propranolol. About 3 months ago I developed Trigeminal Neuritis on my R side. I have to say it was the most painful affliction I ever experienced, even worse than the 2 spinal fusions I underwent! I was placed on Trileptal & am up to 600mg 2x/day, as well as continuing with Cymbalta & Propranolol.
Avatar n tn The problem is the Cymbalta was better with my depression but seems to increase my anxiety and cause me excessive sweating, esp in social situations. Does the sweating sound like a common side effect for SNRI?
Avatar n tn profuse sweating from head while eating, walking brisk even during winter.
Avatar f tn 5 mg xanax but my dr decided to try propranolol 40mg instead because i started to have high blood pressue. i read these two meds arent safe together. has or does anyone take them together?
Avatar f tn t stop sweating until 10pm at night. I am not talking about normal sweating I am experiencing extreme sweats where I have a sweat rag by me all day and sweat through my clothes and my hair is constantly soaked for the sweat. This has been going on for 2 weeks now. Does anyone know what the hell is wrong with me? Is there anything I can take or do to get this sweating to stop? I really would appreciate anyone's input on this.
Avatar f tn s helpful to you. But keep in mind, propranolol is a fairly short-acting beta blocker, at 80 mg you will likely have an effective dose similar to peak level when taking one 20 mg pill. Do not adjust the dose without asking your doctor! This is very important. Beta blockers can have very unwanted side effects if the dose is too high. I used to take 10 mg when needed.
Avatar f tn I have had shaking hands and legs, rapid heartbeat, trouble swallowing, sweating, anxiety, depression, mood changes and shorten periods now for years and thought it was just me. The doctor started me on propranolol but it seems to not be working as well as it did in the beginning. I feel like I am going crazy.
Avatar m tn Regardless of your labs you definitely are experiencing the symptoms of hyperthyroid with the sweating irritability etc. Has your doctor considered trying you on Propranolol? It is a beta blocker and is very helpful for minimizing the symptoms of hyperthyroid because it blocks T4 hormone absorption into the brain.
1268921 tn?1288919056 Well this is interesting as this is something I have yet to figure out...most of my life I felt I never really perspired.....which was not an issue as least not to me at the time...in the last few yrs 3 or so, I had been dx'd with Hashimoto's and noticed I was ice cold but sweating profusely in my underarms.... If this is small fiber neuropathy...I am not sure as I am seeing a change in this too as my symptoms r still changing.....so ...I am open to learn more ....
Avatar f tn Wow - I am SO glad that I found this blog. I have felt so alone and helpless over the past six months. I returned from Cambodia in March sicker than hell. Besides being careless with the water and what I ate over there, I also got bit by something that left a red circle around it.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried PROPRANOLOL for prevention of Migraines? I have struggled with headaches almost every day & Migraines aprox every 7-10 days for the last 10 years. Feverfew has helped but they now seem to be getting worst so I was thinking of asking my GP if I could try Propranolol.
4155003 tn?1351614311 ive bin on propranolol for about 12weeks & weaned myself down to 10ml every other day, i took 10ml propranolol 52hours ago & not going to take another one as im ready to stop. when will it be fully out my system?
Avatar f tn I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) These will also help with my bp, it has been creeping up. I have had these in the past but was more recently on bisoprolol. Which is more common for POTS symptoms? I was in A&E last night and back at my GP's this morning. I have been refered back to the cardiologist who is going to see me in november.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia(10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8pm) for about 18 days now, and four days ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy. Since then it seemed to get better, but now I feel lethargic, dizzy, and generally unwell. Is it my drug? Note: I'm a 15-year-old male.
Avatar f tn It is most often used to treat hypertension, agina, and abnormal heart rhythms but it is also helpful in controlling the fast heart rate and other symptoms of an overactive thyroid gland. Propranolol also helps to reduce the palpitations, sweating, and tremor of severe anxiety and is also used to prevent migrane headaches. STOPPING THE DRUG Do not stop the drug without consulting your doctor. Abrupt cessation ( suddenly stopping the drug) may lead to worsening of the underlying condition.
Avatar n tn I was wondering what the best medications are for stopping excessive sweating and anxiety. I think the anxiety causes the sweating. But the sweating affects my life more than the anxiety. Is an anticholinergic drug the best choice? I thought that might help my chronic stomach pains too.
Avatar f tn 4 days ago pcp changed my beta blocker from propranolol 40mg twice daily to metprolol er 25mg daily d/t low pulse in 40s- 50s. Been on propranolol for 22yrs for PVCS. She had me just stop propranolol and start metoprolol, been experiencing shakiness, occassional pvcs, headache, nausea, pulse still 45 - low 60s at rest and with exertion 70-90. Should she have tapered propranolol or will the metoprolol block the more serious withdrawal symptoms ie: HTN, chest pain ect.
Avatar m tn Propranolol is not on the list of contraindicated drugs for Harvoni. Here is the list: http://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/ledipasvir-sofosbuvir,harvoni-index.
Avatar f tn When did you start taking Propranolol 20 mg? Side effects of propranolol include abdominal cramps, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, insomnia, nausea, depression, memory loss, fever, lightheadedness, slow heart rate, low blood pressure, cold extremities, sore throat, and shortness of breath( ref: http://www.medicinenet.com/propranolol/page2.htm). It is possible that your symptoms are related to the medication you are taking.
Avatar f tn I take propranolol the dosage is up to your doctor it doesn't really make you tired although everyone is different but it doesn't me it's suppose to be for stress and anxiety but I don't think it helps very well you might consider ativan there isn't a medication that has propranolol in it there is a script of propranolol by itself it's not mixed with any medication
Avatar n tn Sertraline and other Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) inhibit a certain enzyme which usually metabolizes Propranolol. Due to this inhibition, Propranolol action may be enhanced. But it will not be appropriate to look at this isolated piece of information and ignore other evidences. We do have a lot of trials and reviews exploring the combination. There is no conclusive evidence which allows us to deem this combination unacceptable.
Avatar f tn Results vary among people, but, for migraines, I was taking 240 mg Inderal LA (Propranolol slow release) every day, in divided doses, I was fine. One site I just viewed suggested dosing as 40mg twice a day of Standard Propranolol or 80 mg Slow Release once a day. For the Standard Propranolol, they listed 640 mg as the maximum per day, in divided doses, so you're clearing that by a wide margin.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed an increase in propranolol for migraines and anxiety.I was taking 120mg in the morning(extended release) and my doctor has raised the dose to 160mg. I had been taking the propranolol in the morning, but have read that the best time to take it is in the nighttime. Does anyone know what would be the best time morning or nighttime? Thank you.
Avatar n tn I am a 38 year old who has been developing a tremor in my dominant hand for the past 18 months. I also have been taking imipramine for the last 18 years for a panic disorder. I tried reducing my imipramine dosage about the time the tremor began but then went back up to my original dose. The tremor continued and seems to be getting worse. Ive read that imipramine can cause tremors but find it hard to believe it would start after all these years.
Avatar n tn I had brain Zaps for 3 years. Mine subsided with Propranolol 40mg used for essential tremors. Propranolol has least side effects used by surgeons so that their hands dont shake during an operaion. I had anal fissure with brain zaps. There are 3 sicknesses related to brain zaps. 1) SSRI discontinuation Syndrome. - Treatment Prozac. 2) Essenial Tremors - Treatment Propranolol. 3) Concussion.
