503727 tn?1210442710 As soon as I get into a place I get so dizzy and my vision is all messed up. I get so hot and sweaty and my heart races. I want my life back. I still dont believe that its just anxiety causing all of this. I feel like I have something else wrong that the doctors cant find even though i have had bloodwork, mri, ekg, and they were all normal. I started taking .25mg of xanax once a day. still dont feel any better yet. So if anybody has any help please give it to me.
Avatar n tn This class of drugs, used to treat high blood pressure and heart disease, includes metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol), nadolol (Corgard) and propranolol (Inderal). * Birth control pills. If you use birth control pills, you may wish to switch to another method of contraception because these drugs affect your circulation and may make you more prone to attacks. If you have questions about how best to manage Raynaud's, contact your doctor.
Avatar f tn If I'm desperate and have no Relpax, I take Naprosyn and Sudafed, which work somewhat. But these headaches can last for up to four days. Pain meds like Lortab are a complete waste of time: like killing an elephant with a flyswatter. If it were a pinched nerve, you'd think a hard-core narcotic would work...but it doesn't. Thanks for your help! Prayers to my fellow headache sufferers...I know I'd rather have the flu than a migraine headache (or whatever these things are).
Avatar f tn I have a history of Migraine but these are not Migraine. My neurologist thinks they are rebound headaches from taking too much Advil and sudafed for my sinuses, which I also have trouble with. I tried 10mg of Amiitriptyline for 4 weeks but asked to be taken off of it due to not seeing any improvement and gaining weight. I was hungry all of the time. He then put me on Topamax, which is not helping. In fact, my headaches have gotten worse.
Avatar n tn I have done a quick internet search and it appears that some vasoconstrictors may help reduce vaginal secretions. One research paper suggested Propranolol (a Beta-blocker which has both beta-1 and beta-2 effects) and was found to be beneficial (when tested in rats) - I would suggest 20-40mg taken an hour before sex - ask your GP for a prescription - Beware - not suitable for asthmatics as can cause bronchoconstriction (acute asthma-attack).
Avatar n tn It's a bit distrubing when the racy, tachycardia happens as it seems like my whole body and bed is pulsating! I hate this feeling and I feel like my cardiologist has no idea what to do. Should I see an EP doc? My dad had really bad SVT that would reach the 220's and needed cardio-version several times. Also he has a RBBB which I do not. He recently had an abaltion for numerous foci that were causing the SVT. I really don't want to follow in his footsteps (: Does mine sound similar then?
Avatar n tn He did prescribe metoprolol which I found gave me EXTREME headaches, and have since been back on propranolol for the past 3 weeks. I worry a bit as I know beta blockers lower blood pressure, as well as heart rates. My blood pressure generally runs about 110/70 (or lower) and my resting heart rate is in the low 50's. He said not to worry about my blood pressure as long as I am feeling OK, and to just watch my pulse rate. If it goes below 40/minute I need to cut back on the medication.
363682 tn?1299492962 They are not sharp pains but more of a constant 'throb' and can go on for hours. Pain relief medication does nothing and the only relief I can get at all is the application of something topical like '4-Head' or the American 'Head-On'. Although I have been a reasonably 'active' drinker in the past, if anything now, at the age of 61 (male), I rarely have more than two drinks at a time ... which is why I'm surprised at the onset of these headaches.
Avatar m tn seeing a bright flash, like the afterimage of a flash bulb, when we blink, and sometimes, on upgaze. This is transient symptom for most of us, lasting anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. When the "spot" in our visual field passes over a dark background, the spot appears light. When the spot passes over a light background, it appears dark. So far, the doctors haven't been able to diagnose us, and perhaps that means it is simply some idiopathic phenomenon.
Avatar n tn sensation behind the forehead and beneath the front top of the head. The way people describe this varies according to personal expression, but it is usually best described as an expanding sensation behind the forehead as if the brain is growing larger with nowhere to go. The headache is dull, non-throbbing, and does not get worse with exercise. The patient will also describe a sort of "perpetual dizziness" that may be constant or may come and go again.
