Avatar n tn I take propranolol for Tremors from taking Gabapentin. I wanted to know if propranolol has withdrawal symptoms because I am weening off all meds to see if my new symptoms were caused by all the meds. I want to add meds as needed for Fibromyalgia.
Avatar m tn Hi, great forum i have severe asthma and frequently feel wheezy and tired, sometimes just by walking up the stairs. I live overseas. I recently was having palpitations and have been given propranolol. I know that it is usually not to be used if you have asthma, However, i also read that many athmatics can use it. I used it a long time ago when i was a teenager, before i developed asthma and it was great. Also read from some websites that it can be quite dangerous.
Avatar f tn The way, for example, nutritionists often treat food allergies is to eliminate almost all the food you eat to a bare minimum and then start adding foods back one at a time to see if that's what you're allergic to. Just a hard thing to deal with. In your case, when you get a new problem right after starting a medication, the medication is the most likely culprit.
Avatar f tn Good for you and maybe it wont be short lived and will last.I have mvp and have changed my diet(no more sweets and junk food) not sure if i should be walking so much but have walked around our field two times a day for days now and i worry some the walking will make my heart race but sitting around i think can only go against me in the long run so im taking my chances and walking anyways.
Avatar n tn So i was recently given propranolol 4x10mg daily for anxiety and was wondering if i would experience weight gain on such a low dose? I would also like to lose weight, but with me not being able to get my heart in target zone, im wondering will i find it hard to lose weight? Also how safe is exercising/weight lifting on this medication. Feels really weird that my heart does not pound when running!
1297586 tn?1274109547 Turns out I had hypothyroidism and after a week of meds, my hearing was back to normal. I was recently put on propranolol for migraine associated vertigo and the problem with sudden hearing loss has returned. I have an appointment to ave my thyroid rechecked his week and I strongly believe the blood tests checking my thyroid will come back low and my daily dosage will need to be raised. If you all of a sudden wake up with this extreme roaring and loss of earring, have your thyroid checked !
Avatar n tn Known triggers for autoimmune thyroid disease include cigarette smoke, stress, low selenium levels, seasonal and food allergies, sex steroids particularly estrogens, excess dietary iodine, and trauma. "Adequate selenium nutrition supports efficient thyroid hormone synthesis and metabolism and protects the thyroid gland from damage by excessive iodide exposure." Dietary wise, brazil nuts contain the most selenium. Depending on the soil, anywhere from 50 - 90 mcg of selenium per nut.
Avatar f tn Known triggers of autoimmune thyroid disease include cigarette smoke, stress, low selenium levels, seasonal and food allergies, sex steroids particularly estrogens, excess dietary iodine, and trauma. Bugleweed and lemon balm are two herbs that can help with hyperthyroid symptoms. Selenium helps with thyroid inflammation. There are many articles online on natural treatments for hyperthyroidism but you may need anti thyroid drugs.
Avatar m tn We usually encounter intention tremor in certain neurological diseases affecting the cerebellum or its connections with the brainstem and spinal cord; I hope you had already consulted a neurologist and ruled out the possibility of cerebellar diseases. Once such a condition had been ruled out, the possibility of the tremor being a benign 'essential' one is to be considered. This so-called 'essential familial tremor' often runs in families and affects more than one member of the same family.
Avatar f tn A drug called propranolol can help with med related tremors. It sounds more like his meds aren't working. Use of Effexor is controversial as many psychiatrists say it helps, but the research is leaning towards it causing an escalation of episodes causing rapid cycling in people with bipolar. I was rapid cycling and on Wellbutrin. Once they removed the Wellbutrin the rapid cycling slowed down tremendously.
Avatar f tn I take six psych meds and wouldn't drop any of them as they complement each other and keep me semi-stable. I take Lamictal, Abilify, Emsam, Propranolol, Ambien, Klonopin and a drug for high cholesterol.
Avatar n tn I was wondering what the best medications are for stopping excessive sweating and anxiety. I think the anxiety causes the sweating. But the sweating affects my life more than the anxiety. Is an anticholinergic drug the best choice? I thought that might help my chronic stomach pains too.
Avatar m tn I suffered facial flushing after the 1st month on accutane, I have been off it for exactly a year and the flushing seems to be getting worse. I have seen a reputable derm and he's told me its accutane induce rosacea. My flushing triggers all come from stress and excessive exercise and prolonged periods outdoors (does not matter what the weather is I will always flush when I come indoors), the slightist bit of anxiety will cause me to flush but I sweat with that one as well.
Avatar f tn She also prescribed a beta blocker for me and told me to come back in a week. I've taken the beta blocker (propranolol) and still have the irregular heart beats a couple hours after taking it. Brief history: I am overweight (obvious suggestion is to lose weight). I am a smoker (obvious to quit and I've been cutting down).
929371 tn?1244269113 i am currently on 3 300mg lithium, 1 7.5mg zopiclone, 1mg risperidone and 1 tablet twice daily of propranolol 20mg ( for shakes and tension ) this brings me to my question...i have been looking at medication for anxiety and so forth and came across the drug Xanax. And upon reading all i could on it it has giving me a little hope. while in person i beat down the fear and anxiety and panic on the outside. out in public or with people even my friends iam a mess inside.
1475202 tn?1536274577 If you try your best and the numbers just don't show the results that you need then I think you would need to explore another avenue. Lastly, we only get one heart and need to do everything we can to protect its health. Just food for thought. I might forward this post to the internal medicine specialists on here as this isn't my area of expertise and there are a lot of factors/variables that I can't appreciate through a forum chat.
Avatar f tn I'm now taking generic Inderol (propranolol?) for the tremors and it works. But I still feel electric. This has gone on non-stop. When this all started my GP gave me Xanax for anxiety and told me to take a good vacation. Right. Anyway, being on the Xanax I realized helped the buzzing. I've also noticed my ears ringing which gets worse when the buzzing is worse. I have now seen a neuro who changed the Xanax to Clonazepam.
1465650 tn?1316234760 I had to grab the chair to steady myself, again I was sweating, feeling faint, shaking and heart racing. I went to the hospital again and the ECG was taken and again nothing. It seemed these darned palpitations were stopping before walking into the hospital. It seemed the rest of the winter went by with the odd episode and me running back and forth to the doctors and hospital.
Avatar f tn I have constant grinding, popping, and cracking sounds in my joints all over my body, especially in my neck, very badly in my shoulders, my back, jaw, elbows, wrists, knees and hips. It does not usually hurt but my muscles and joints hurt and seem to be tense, weak and stiff. Can anxiety cause all of these CONSTANT symptoms? This problem is effecting my life and my relationships and I just want to feel normal and like my old self again.
Avatar m tn I ended up calling an ambulance 3 times the month of july and each time they did an EKG, and blood tests and related it to anxiety. I kept having intense palpitations, lightheartedness and fatigue throughout every day. It got to the point I was afraid to walk, and would stay bed ridden because any time I stood up I got light headed and my heart would race. I ended up seeing a Cardiologist towards the end of july and we did an Echo, halter monitor, and stress test.
Avatar m tn I can usually slow my hr down with breathing exercises and an extra dose of Atenolol and/or Xanax if it gets really bad and I think an Afib episode is a possibility. Once the adrenaline gets going, it fuels the episode and takes on a life of its own. Distraction helps. Hope some of my experience is helpful. Good luck to you.
612876 tn?1355518095 "You just left it on the . . . where the food was." Does anyone else wind up saying nonsensical things like this because they get stuck trying to come up with words? This morning it was something simple--can you believe I couldn't think of the word "table?" Not only that but, "where the food was" isn't really a good description of table; it's as though I'm groping around in the dark.
Avatar n tn I am so worried that it is something so serious. I have seen 4 different doctors and had blood work and urinalysis done and always given anxiety as diagnosis. I am currently taking lexapro for about 3 weeks now.. seems to help a little but annoying head pressure/pain will not seem to go away. Does anyone have any advice?
Avatar n tn However, I started taking 25 milligrams and was thrilled by my immediate lack of interest in food. It was miraculous...as though an addiction was suddenly broken. However, after 2 months---it suddenly stopped working! So..my question...does one build up a tolerance or do I need to increase the dosage? Can anyone tell me what dosages they are on when the Topamax is sole for weight loss in conjunction with depression? (I also take Wellbutrin). Thankyou for any information you might give me.
Avatar n tn The medication should not be taken with food and any signs of bleeding should be reported to your doctor. Use a soft toothbrush, avoid hazardous activities, carry Medi-Alert ID identifying drug useage and notify your doctor if you have any dark brown urine or red or tarry black stools.
Avatar f tn To manage high blood pressure Portal Hypertension Medications such as propranolol and isosorbide may be prescribed to lower the pressure in the portal vein and reduce the risk of recurrent bleeding. * Propranolol (Inderal, Inderal LA, Innopran XL) The recommended dose is 80-160 mg daily using long acting formulations. * Or Nadolol (Corgard). Start propranolol (20 mg BID) increase to maximum tolerable dosage or a heart rate of 55-60 beats per minute.
Avatar n tn It's like trying to start your car and it takes a few moments for the engine to kick in. Are you taking any medications? I take Propranolol and it does help. Today my husband's boss had a heart attack and is in a coma. He did everything right as far as health and exercise and had no pvc's or other heart issues. Certainly bad things can happen to anyone, even without these pvcs. I've just decided that my pvcs put me at no greater risk than anyone else, so why worry?
461838 tn?1255793816 I am 3-month post tx and get Tremors also. It happens mostly in the Morning. I noticed if I get some food in my stomach they usually go away. I have to be up and moving for at least an hour because I never have been able to eat first thing in the morning. I also notice stress triggers it. When this happens I take half a Xanax.
198419 tn?1360245956  Eating more fruits and vegetables, drinking more water and quit drinking soda and eating fast food.  Laughter has become a necessity and is most definitely therapeutic.  Acquiring SSDI/SSI has relieved my financial nightmare.   Moving back in with mom to help in the tail end of raising my last child still at home (single mom). Finding this forum has changed me and has become a daily dose for me, as well!    The people here have given me hope, which I had lost.
Avatar m tn I do have panic attacks mostly at night, i'm awake by them every night, I have 0 concentration, can't enjoy anything cause i'm always thinking about my symptoms and all the pain I feel inside me...
