2046875 tn?1340231119 I agree with sehale 100%! I van testify first hand of taking to many vitamins and developed kidney stones this was before I was pregnant....and the problem never goes away! I have yo take a special prenatal vitamin that doesn't have calcium in it! I personally would ask your doctor if you need an addition iron pill...if you do...just take the additional iron pill with the regular prenatal vitamin....that way you wouldnt over load your body! Best of luck dear!
Avatar f tn How many here have dealt with kidney stones during pregnancy? I am 18 wks 5 days and have a stone that needs to pass. Hurts excessively. I had a stone with my last pregnancy at 34 wks. That time required surgery to remove. If this is not gone by Monday I may be headed that way again.
Avatar f tn t want so much being processed through my kidneys at once. I had a friend who took more vitamins then real food and ended up w kidney stones. What do you suggest? #pregnantbrain.
Avatar f tn With my last pregnancy i had such bad kidney stones that they were blocking my ureter (the tube going from your kidney to your bladder) which caused all the urine on my left side to be stuck in my kidney i got really bad hydronephrosis (excessive swelling of the kidney) and had to have a stent placed 4 times while pregnant to let the urine flow correctly again!
Avatar n tn has anyone else experienced a kidney infection/ stones during pregnancy ... what did u do for the pain .... all my doc told me was heat but my god is this miserable .. last time I passed a stone they dopped me up on pain meds which is obviously not an option this time ... please help me !! ...
Avatar f tn m considered high risk due to kidney and gall stones. Taking the prenatal vitamins will cause me to develop large kidney stones because of the calcium in them. Also when your hormone levels raise during pregnancy they speed up the growth of gall stones. At anytime of the pregnancy I can have my kidneys shut down from a kidney stone that is to large to pass and an infection will develop. Also have a gall stone get to large and block off the gall bladder to the pancreas.
Avatar f tn when i got there they did a bunch of different things. Come to find out both my kidneys are full of kidney stones. I have never had one in my life before now. This is my second pregnancy. The stone that got stuck is 9mm big. The doctor said kidney stones are common in pregnancy. But it can lead to early labor, so i spent the whole night in the hospital. Doctor said kidney stones hurt more then labor, its so true! Prenatal pill can cause the stones.
Avatar f tn I went to my gyno yesterday for my first appointment but she never mentioned anything about prenatal vitamins. I don't know if the gyno is suppose to call in prescription for them or if I just go by them at the store. Help, please.
Avatar f tn I am also consider high risk too! With the prenatal vitamins it has flared up my kidney stones! I always get kidney infections when passing stones! I would have it check next time you go to the doctor! I also recommend that you drink lots and lots of water...this will flush the kidneys and may relieve that pain if that is what is causing it foe you!
Avatar f tn So last night I went to the park and passes out. Once at the hospital I find out, I still have kidney stones, I have a urinary tract infections, and I'm anemic. I'm now allergic to the antibiotic, and it's not working and will now have to have a tube put in my back to use the bathroom since I now have an infection.
Avatar f tn Anyone else have kidney stones..? If so what do you do about it. It is SO painful..
Avatar f tn Yeah if you miss prenatals on accident (even for a long time) baby is still going to be OK. baby will take what he or she needs from your body..its the mother who suffers the most when you don't take prenatals because baby will be taking your nutrients and vitamins and you need to replenish them!
Avatar f tn Does anyone else experience frequent urination during the evening, when raking their prenatal vitamins at night? I am seriously up every 2 hours, like clock work and I'm fine, very rarely go more than usual, during the day. I'm not drinking before I go to bed, just taking my vitamins and 2 hours in to sleeping, the fun begins! Back and forth all night, full bladder, 2 hours apart. I take the vitamins at night because I get queezy when i take them during the morning or afternoon.
Avatar f tn I take a daily vitamin and prenatals and my dr has not said to stop
Avatar f tn I use Natural Wealth prenatal and NW Magnesium supplement because NW prenatal doesnt contain magnesium. they never gave me nausea. I take them before going to bed though.
Avatar m tn Hey everyone, I'm on like my 10th day clean of hydros, oxy's etc. and have been taking most of the vitamins in the Thomas recipe and have been feeling REALLy great!. I take them in the mornings and they just give me great energy and an overall better outlook. My question is is that i had passed about 7 or 8 kidney stones in the past 10 years and i'm wondering if taking these vitamins will somehow hurt my kidneys or possibly cause me to get more kidney stones?
Avatar m tn Drink plenty of water! The following is for Kidney stones There are nutrients you need to add—and to limit. Vitamin A (not betacarotene) promotes healthy functioning of the urinary tract, so people who are deficient in it sometimes form kidney stones more easily than others. You’ll find vitamin A in most good general multiple vitamin and mineral supplements (which you and everyone to take even when you supplement with individual nutrients).
Avatar f tn @Criseldangeorge- Im classified as high risk due to my kidneys and gall bladder. With taken the prenatal vitamins the calcium cause kidney stones which if to large to pass will shut my kidneys down! I also have gall stones and pregnancy speed up the growth of gall stones if I get one to large and it gets stuck between the gall bladder and pancreas I will have to go into surgery to remove the gall bladder! Was put on a low fat and water only diet. Smooth sailing so far....
Avatar n tn Hi I'm 24 weeks pregnant and I get pain in my kidneys too sometimes. I get kidney stones and have melginary sponge kidney. It can hurt pretty bad. If it get so bad that you can't handle it or are crying you may have a stone and I would go to the er but you can have pain when your pregnant for no reason. i have heard from my urologist that pregnancy is hard on your kidneys. I would drink lots of water quickly and that may help. i hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn Oh! I should also add that you SHOULD NOT take anything over the counter to increase bowel movements until you speak with your OBGYN. This includes anything natural like milk of magnesium or anything similar.
5601615 tn?1383450616 Im not sure what advice to give you cuz Im not sure the make up of your stone. Mine were calcium based. I had to stop taking prenatal vitamins and switch to just folic acid. Significantly decrease my calcium intake. I had to watch how much green vegetables i ate. I drank alot of cranberry juice as well.
Avatar n tn I'm 20w2d and I haven't taken any yet due to my severe nausea dr said taking them would just make me sicker sometimes I feels horrible about not taking any :(
