Avatar f tn Recently I had an ultrasound in which the tech found ovarian cysts. My question is could these cysts be the cause of my problems? Is it possible for cysts to move into the Intra-Abdominal area? Thank you for any answers.
Avatar n tn Mostly we help people to understand what to expect once treatments like surgery are chosen, but the patient-specific questions only the doctor can answer. Try to remain calm and seek your answers. It may not be as bad as you fear.
409451 tn?1206896632 Can someone explain exactly what bilateral ovarian cysts are and what kind of cyst they would most likely be, if any in particular?

456874 tn?1218139741 Interesting. I have ovarian cysts and thyroid issues, now with two nodular thyroid cysts. My thyroid went from 39.9 not a year and-a-half later, to 7.5, which is still not normal - better though on Armour thyroid (pig), instead of the previous Synthroid. I hope you get answers to your questions and I will look for them.
Avatar f tn In January of 2009, i had emergency surgery for an ovarian cysts on my right ovary. Apparently the cyst was 5 inches and twisted around my ovary. After the surgery, i had no pain up until June of that year. I had many ultrasounds done that confirmed i had small cysts. In April of 2010, i had laproscopic surgery to have a look to see what was going on. The doctor told me after that my ovary had dropped down due to a cyst and that my right tube was blocked.
Avatar n tn ran the Ca 125 test and they got all those results back but wouldnt give me the results over the phone. I go in next Wed. and I hope they have some answers soon. I am taking all the questions you gave to use. Thank you so much for everything. And I will let you know when I find something out.
Avatar f tn My last ultrasound showed 3 cysts on the left and 2 cysts on the right with the biggest one being 3 cm with alot of free fluid. The dr. just wanted a follow up ultrasound in 2 more weeks. However, I now have swollen lymph nodes in the pelvic area that really hurt. My CA125 was 4 (I am Premature Ovarian Failure). Should I call the dr now and try to get in? Should I be concerned with the lymph nodes? Has anyone else had this? Thanks.
518121 tn?1211751734 Hi, am 45 years old married and no children, I was recently diagnosed with endometrosis ovarian cysts, and calcium deposit in my right kidney, I was having this symptoms since I was 15, like, pelvic pain, pain in my right side, I did IVF in 1997 and had my fellopian tubes open 5 years ago but did not get pregnant. How did doctors miss the endometriosis and cysts when they performed surgeries and IVF?
Avatar f tn I am only 20 years old and would like to have kids someday. Also, I never knew I ever had ovarian cysts until they already ruptured, so I have no idea what kind they were or how large; they always ruptured on the first day of my period, though. I have had a pap smear and pelvic exam over a month ago, and both were said to be normal. However, I have had nearly constant nausea for the last few months with little relief and have asked a few doctors about it without any answers.
Avatar f tn 98% of ovarian cysts are non cancerous. It is rare to have cancerous cysts on both ovaries. If you do not have the BRCA mutation you have a 1.4% of ovarian cancer in a lifetime. You doctor is who you need to talk to. Write down questions to ask.
Avatar m tn My concern is that she recently had a very sharp pain in her lower abdomen which lasted over an hour, and when she was examined by her OBGYN a couple of days later, she requested Tracie to have an ultrasound because she felt some cysts. The ultrasound showed 2 regular fluid filled cysts and 1 solid(complex as she called it) cyst that had ruptured that was full of blood.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am hoping that someone has had some experience with ovarian cysts and the use of birth control (nuva ring) to prevent ovulation. My doctor started me on the nuva ring in hopes that it would help with the pain from bilateral ovarian simple cysts that measure 5cm and 4.2 cm. If anyone has experience with this type of treatment please respond to the following questions. Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts?
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be benign or malignant but the majority (over 90%) are benign. A lot depends on your age and what type of cyst it is - functional, dermoid, etc. Your doctor hopefully will let you know if there is anything to be concerned about. You can google "ovarian cysts" to get more information so you know what questions to ask at your appointment. Please let us know how it goes.
Avatar f tn I too am unfamiliar with cysts, but I do know ovarian cancer is a rare disease and 95% of cysts are benign. I hope this helps a little. Try and be positive and stay on top pf your doc's IN CASE it could be cancer because time is very important when dealing with this disease.
Avatar n tn A MRI is the best exam to show soft tissue like the ovaries and cysts. It will more clearly show the size and content of the cyst. A corpus luteum cyst is very common. It may rupture about the time of menstruation, and take up to three months to disappear entirely. Endometriomas are cysts that form when endometrial tissue grows in the ovaries. They are also called "chocolate cysts" because they are filled with dark blood. Monthly hormonal changes cause them to grow.
Avatar f tn Nabothian cysts are fluid filled cysts that occur on the cervix (the opening to the uterus). I have a few of them, as well as a history of ovarian cysts and a dermoid that is going to be surgically removed in a few weeks time. Nabothian cysts are different from ovarian cysts in that you don't need surgery but you can have your doctor do an internal exam and biopsy them.
Avatar n tn Hi I'm new here. I have been having problems with my period for over a year. I was told that my endometrium was 2 cm thick and my doctor said that was "horrendisly" (sp?) thick. So she put me on provera. I recently had another ultra sound and it showed my endomitrium has thinned considerably. Down to 1 cm. They had told me over a year ago that I had three small cysts on my ovaries, but that they will come and go. But now with this last ultr sound they want me to have an MRI.
1337047 tn?1275914064 t want to frighten you because there is no way to know for sure if you have ovarian cancer until you remove the tumor and biopsy it. But, the symptoms you are describing coupled with your high CA-125 are concerning. 1500 is a pretty high reading for CA-125. The risk of a malignant cyst is increased in postmenopausal women too. I can see you are in Canada and so I don't really know what to recommend as far as speeding up the medical process.
Avatar n tn Hi , write down a list of questions before your appointment and make sure you get the answers , some of these doctors skirt round issues but its your health and you need to feel at ease with whats happening .
Avatar n tn t being very helpful in answering my questions, but insisting I get more tests and see a specialist. I just like to be informed before I do these things. Any help would be great. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hi there, sometimes taking a look inside to evaluate cysts and pain is the most reassuring option. When cysts are benign, you can put it behind you. I hope everything went well with your surgery.
