He'll eventually start liking normal food and gaining weight. For the time being, for him to gain weight, lots of bubbas/breastmilk (whichever you're doing).
Avatar n tn Although he is quite tall now 5'4'' (95% on growth chart), because his bone age is so advanced and due to the andrache he will not have the typical growth spurt and will stop growing much earlier than other boys. His predicted final height is 5'8" which I know doesn't sound totally terrible but this isn't his full biological potential.
Avatar n tn Both his weight and height are on the 10th percentile for his age which indicates his is in the normal range on the Growth chart. What is important with Growth Charts is that the infant grows at a steady pace over time. Avatar m tn This year, at 12, she fell off the chart, and didn't grow much in height or weight at all. Dr sent her for a bone age scan, and it came back saying she's 2 standard deviations below normal, at 10 years bone-age. Now we are being sent to a pediatric endocrinologist. She eats well, has no digestive issues, and is otherwise very healthy. Could the Endo. just repeat what the dr from years ago said, that she's just a small person? I grew late, as did my husband- both "late bloomers".
Avatar n tn If he is 2 years, 2 months, then his weight is between 5-10th percentile and height is on the 5th percentile which indicates he is still on the growth chart and normal. If his age is 3 years old then both his weight and height are below the 5th percentile. Suggest giving him Pediasure in place of milk at meals (in place of the milk) and snacks. For healthy eating, eat a Heart Healthy diet which means a moderate fat diet to lower the fat content of your foods, increase ‘good’ fats to benefit your body.

Avatar f tn You don't give your height, age or activity level, so we don't know if you are at a normal weight or not. It seems that you might have "double cause" here, between the Zoloft and the drastic change in your diet. If you feel that you are losing too much weight, too quickly, you should talk to your doctor about having your medication adjusted.

Avatar n tn You need do a chart for you height and weight and find your own target heart rate by your pulse for your age. Depending on the excersise you do (dishes and vacuming can burn calories) you need to burn more calories than you consume to loose weight. There are alot of websites that will chart it for you. example: if you consume 800 calories a day you need to excercise to burn 1000 calories. This pattern will drop weight. Does that make sense.
1626068 tn?1303760162 5 * 2.7889 Weight (minimum) = 51.6 kg 24.9 = weight / (1.67)^2 weight = 24.9 * 2.7889 Weight (maximum) = 69.44 kg So the healthy weight range for someone with 1.67 m is between 51.6 to 69.44 kg. I hope this helps.

Due to his eating habits suggest giving him a daily children’s multi-vitamin.
Avatar f tn From your measurements both his height and weight are just below the 5th percentile for his age. He was born premature so he will falls below 'normal' children growth chart. Some tips for additional calories: If he likes pasta, then add meat or cream sauces to the pasta instead of plain tomato sauce or plain pasta.
Avatar n tn As to what is normal. The doctor is correct. Age plays a factor. Download the Age vs (Average) Testosterone chart in the Files area. If you look it over you will see that at your level it would be "normal" but you would need to be over 100 years old! Not good. The average normal level at your age is over 600 ng/dL and the current thinking from the AACE guidelines is that levels under 325 ng/dL are the new treatment (or further diagnosis at least) indicated.
Avatar n tn A quick look at a height/weight chart, says you can safely weigh anywhere between 123 and 163, depending on your bone structure. See below: Height Small Frame Medium Frame Large Frame 5'7" 123-136 133-147 143-163 Maybe what you really need is muscle toning rather than weight loss.
Avatar n tn When my husband and I were married just over two years, trying to get pregnant that whole time, we sought the help of infertility specialists. At the time I was about 165 lb at 5'3. I started to gain weight at about age 25 and at age 31 I was very overweight even with diet and exercise. My cycles were all over the place as well. My husband is Air Force and infertility is not exactly first on their list of things to help people with.
Avatar n tn I have digenerative disc disease and my neirologist just prescribed topamax, he said it would help with the pain and tingling but could result in weight loss. I am wondering if prescribing topamax for ddd is common among neurologists? I can't seem to find any other information related to topamax as a pain med, only information I have is that it's a powerful drug with lots of side effects, most not so good. The weight loss aspect is the only plus...
Avatar m tn His weight and height are both on the 10th percentile for his age which indicates his is normal for his age. Whatever he is eating, he is in the growth chart unless he his growth/weight has been trending down over time. You did not state that. To ‘broaden his tastes’ is to engage him in the kitchen more. Children love to be a part of making food. Have him help you with preparation of food, make the milkshakes, and setting the table.
Avatar f tn From your measurements, his weight is at or just above the 10th percentile and his height is between the 10-25th percentile for his age. This indicates he is normal for his age but at the lower end of the growth chart.
Avatar f tn For your height, you are actually underweight. I copied a portion of a height/weight chart for you to see what you should actually weigh. I don't know about your frame size (whether you are large boned or more petite).
Avatar n tn Your son is below the percentile for his height and weight for his age, however, it maybe genetic as you stated. If the family is of small statue then there is high probability that the children would be small too. If he is eating not that well, suggest giving him Pedisure or Carnation Instant Breakfast in place of his milk for extra calories and protein. Thank you for your question.
Avatar n tn Baby needs a few cups of that a day, I am willing to bet once you add that, he will start picking up some weight. They really need the fat provided by the whole milk until 2 years of age or even longer if underweight. Good luck!
