Avatar n tn At 13, most teenagers are well into puberty and may be in the middle of or about to embark on growth spurts. Their height and weight may go through many changes in their teen years. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the average height for a 13-year-old girl is 5'1 3/4". Girls' normal height can range from 4'11 1/4" at the 10th percentile to 5' 5 3/4" at the 90th percentile.
Avatar n tn I would definitely ask your pediatrician to have her seen by a pediatric endocrinologist, it may indeed be early puberty, the dheas is a hormone that the adrenal gland makes and is a sign of early but almost normal variation of the adrenal gland maturation process that can occur in this age range in some kids.
Avatar n tn long. The doctor said she is 25% for weight and 90% for height/length... I think I might have a scientist that could have been a model on my hands... tall and skinny...
Avatar f tn Please verify your height. Are you 57" or 5'7". Ideal weight is not based on age, alone. It's based on a calculation of current height, weight, activity level and age....... I can help you do that, if you like.
1467697 tn?1286428419 Vitamin D3 is a good one to add for most thyroid issues. Magnesium and a good probiotic and fish oil is also a good idea for many. We take all suppliments at night. What thyroid medication are you on and how do you feel? Does your doctor track your freet3 and freet4 level as these are best to moniter and corrolate best with hypothyroid symptoms. Would love to chat with you and compair notes as it is not common to find others who were born without a thyroid gland.
Avatar n tn His weight is just above the 5th percentile and his height is on the 10th percentile for his age. His is within the growth chart which indicates he is normal for his age. He is going into puberty and will be growing. Males can grow until the early 20's. Genetics plays a part in stature. Are the males in the family on the smaller side?
676912 tn?1332812551 Just out of curiosity...this is a babies/kids thread. I know there's growth charts, and weight charts but how old is/are your child(ren) and what's their height and weight? Just curious of the ranges of children by age...actually I really just want to know if Elijah towers over anyone else's kid, lol...he's so much taller than all the babies in our play group...

Avatar f tn A normal weight can be anywhere from 92 pounds to 123 pounds for the height of 4'11" according to the BMI for that height.
Avatar m tn Your son is big for his age. His height and weight are above the 95th percentile for his age.
Avatar f tn You use the formula BMI = mass/height squared. For you to be within normal range your BMI should be within 18 and 25. If less you are underweight, if higher you are overweight or heading to obese.
2095187 tn?1333091434 Your weight is actually low for your age and if you want to grow taller, please do not go on a diet to lose weight. The average weight for your age and height is 115 pounds. If you think you look fat, then I would exercise as it is a way to tone muscles instead of dieting to lose weight. I don't think you are fat. The pictures in magazine are air brushed digitally on the computer to make girls look thinner than they are in real life. http://www.chartsgraphsdiagrams.
Avatar f tn She is not overweight, in fact very normal weight/height for her age. 105lbs is too underweight for her height. She is still growing and needs not to lose weight. Thank you for your question.
Avatar n tn She is now 10 years old and and has been taking it for about 7 months. She is very short and did not need her period to start and then loose out on precious growing time. My question is this..she has put on 15 lbs since she has started the lupron and is wearing a size 16 dress in girls. She weighs 95 and is 4 feet 5 inches. The doctor is hoping to get her to 4 feet 11 inches by delaying her puberty. Her biological mother is 4 feet 10.
Avatar f tn She does not seem to gain weight/height as per her age. She had congenital defects and had two major surgeries when she was 2 days & 3 months old. She had remained skinny from the beginning but while I see her friends/cousins of her age bigger in size, I really get worried. She is completely fine and active after the surgeries. I would like to know if there is any way (with the proper diet) that can make her gain her height and weight.
Avatar f tn hello Doctor, I recently checked out my son's weight and height. he is 9.8 kgs and 72cms height. is his height and weight normal for his age. he is exactly 1 year 4 months completed.
Avatar n tn He has always been in the very low percentiles for his height and weight. He recently had a bone age test and the pediatrician says his bone age and chronological age are the same. But, yet he is recommending us to an Endocrinologist. Is this normal???
Avatar n tn His weight is between the 10-5th percentile and his height is just below the 5th percentile for his age. He is not underweight (he is still in the normal range of the Growth Chart) and his height maybe due to genetics. Are there males in the family that have small stature? Based on his weight / age, he should be consuming approximately 1800 calories per day as recommended the following: Fruits (limit fruit juices) = 1.5 cups; Vegetables 2.
Avatar f tn I am both your age and height, yet i am 150 pounds. My life would be amazing if i had your weight. Anyway, you have a normal BMI, you are NOT fat. No, not at all. But if you must lose weight, since you desire it, just result to healthy eating and exercise. Eat properly, it is said that if you starve yourself you'll actually end up putting on even more weight. But you must be committed. I have tried eating properly and exercising but end up blowing it a few days later.
Avatar n tn under weight for his age (just under the 10th percentile weight for age) and his height is normal for his age. You can make him milkshakes with Soy milk (has no milk products in it) and frozen fruit which has extra calories and protein. Soy products are a good substitute. Thank you for your question.
Avatar f tn I'm a 16 year old girl and I'm pretty tall for my age and for a girl-- 6 feet tall. I've always told myself that my height is what makes my weight so high, but recently, I've come to terms with knowing that my health isn't a problem right now, but if I don't get healthier it will be one. I need tips on how to lose some weight. I'm open to activities to lose weight, but few I can do, because of my joints. So, if anyone has any ideas, please give me some.
Avatar n tn I know that peak flow readings are determined by height, age and WEIGHT. Looking at the normals for my height and age I should be greater than I am because I lower than the average weight.
Avatar f tn That depends on your frame size, as well as your age. Your frame size is how large your bones are. Here's a bit of height weight chart, that pertains to your height, but only if you are an adult female. If you're not an adult, the figures would be different.
Avatar n tn Adrenarche is what you are talking about, the adrenal gland kicks in a little earlier than normal giving us some expression of normal but annoying male hormones causing body odor, pubertal hair growth and some advancement of bone maturity, however, obesity itself can advance the bones as well and I would seriously look at the weight to be sure that the weight is controlled well, rapid weight gain and increased insulin production can also stimulate bone maturation and also adrenarche is influenc
Avatar m tn For your height and weight you only need to gain about 15 lbs. and you can do that by gaining lean body muscle and consuming >2200 calories per day. You did not mention if you exercise or not. By lifting weights, at a gym or at home you would be building lean body muscle weight. If you do not have a weight set, a cheap substitute is detergent bottles. Fill them with water and then use them as weights. You have to make sure you are eating enough food each day to maintain and gain weight.
Avatar f tn So she is normal for her weight and height. She is not overweight. She still needs 1700-1800 calories per day to grow. Increasing her physical activities would not harm her and having healthier snacks would be much better.
Avatar f tn There are height and weight ranges for children which is indicated on Growth Charts. His height is normal, however, his weight is below the Growth chart for his age. You stated he is teething which some children do not feel well from it. Their appetite can decrease. Suggest you feed him small meals 5-6 times a day to help increase his weight and maybe it will decrease his ‘stomach aches’, as you stated.
Avatar n tn Yes, absolutely normal..But,What is your height and age? U are overweight to a good extent even if u r 6 feet 6 inches tall. Reduction of weight is an honest advice to you or else yr blood sugar level will increase much with age.. Try keeping yr weight in the BMI index range for yr height. See a chart on the net.
