multiple-sclerosis

Avatar n tn The most common causes of hand pain/tingling/cramping are cervical radiculopathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, and rheumatoid arthritis but there are lots of other causes that would get on your most likely causes list befor a neurological condition like MS so try to stay open minded at this stage. Hope that helps a little......
Avatar f tn t been determined whether the deficiency contributes to the onset of MS or MS causes the deficiency. All by it self a Vit. D deficiency does not indicate MS. As alex suggested, I would seek the advice of a neurologist.
Avatar f tn //www.themcfox.com/multiple-sclerosis/ms-symptoms/lhermittes-sign.htm Athletes commonly sustain injuries, so it's possible you've at some stage sustain a spinal structural issue, that with age is now more of a problem and persistently experienced eg degenerative disc etc. You haven't mentioned bending your neck as the trigger, and if all your neurological tests were normal and testing didn't trigger it, then it's possibly not the neurological L'hermittes sign.
Avatar f tn Sometimes if I’m exercising I’ll get pins and needles all over but if I push through the symptoms they’ll start to dissipate. I’m really concerned it could be something like MS because based on google typical neuropathy is not worsened with heat. Anyone have any ideas?
Avatar m tn Plenty of people have ischemic disease which causes zero symptoms or health issues. *Some* people have had an episode of ON for whatever reasons and do not have MS. To an extent this depends on the competency of the ophthalmologist, who is the only kind of doctor who can diagnose ON. Optometrists are not MDs (just in case that's who said you had ON.) Don't be sure you have MS. Without a thorough exam by a neurologist, you cannot possibly know.
Avatar f tn can cause the legs to come together, making it difficult to separate the thighs All of these can vary in their severity and, as with many of the symptoms caused by MS, the precise impact will be different for everyone. I have asked lots of people and everyone seems to come up with different things lol. So cydpink it sounds as though you could be experiencing Extensor spasms..... They come with MS and other neurological diseases...
Avatar f tn lyme disease, diabetes, MS, aneurysm, compressive lesion (tumor), trauma, virus, myasthenia gravis etc etc. you need a full physical and blood workup to rule out systemic disorders.
9745005 tn?1410044366 Hi Karen - There are many possible causes for your eye symptoms. The dings you felt for 3 minutes don't sound too MSish to me. Our symptoms tend to stick around for a bit :-) If you look up almost any neurological symptom MS is likely to be listd as a possible cause. Because it attacks the central nervous system, MS can cause all kinds of symptoms. That doesn't mean that MS is the cause of most neurological symptoms. It's not.
Avatar f tn t experiencing an actual relapse, unfortunately MS is rather complicated and causes pseudo relapses, or in other words the temporary return of prior symptoms when ever warm/hot internal or external temperatures rise, fatigue and with physical activity......
Avatar m tn It is hard to say whether anxiety causes symptoms or symptoms cause anxiety. Even Doctors have trouble figuring that with each of us.You can have a GP perform a Neurological exam if you are concerned. They can decide if you need to see a Neurologist and what kind. Neurologist's specialize as MS Specialist or Headache Specialists.
Avatar n tn Just curious if this sounds like MS or something else. No real other symptoms other than hands and feet tingle and also the brain fog almost pressure feeling. 40 year old male. I appreciate everyone taking time to read and reply. Have a nice week all.
Avatar m tn It took me two years and lots of tests to be diagnosed with MS. No test rules MS in or out. It is symptoms, history, MRIs, blood work, Evoked Potential, and Lumbar Puncture which lead to a diagnosis. Neurologists work in six month to a year intervals. There are over 800 Neurological disorders and over 30 non Neurological MS mimics like Lyme. Until you are diagnosed Doctors usually treat symptoms. Neurologists specialize.
Avatar m tn This past July, my husband started feeling lightheaded. He describes it as a "medicine head" feeling. At first he wasn't concerned; he thought he was getting a cold. But his symptoms got worse, until he was lightheaded all the time. There would be bad episodes where he felt he would pass out. He describes it as being dizzy, but it's not room-spinning dizzy; it's more of a drugged feeling, where everything is "vibrating.
1896537 tn?1381900009 Hi all, I hope you're having a good start to the weekend. I was just wondering if anybody can tell me what exactly causes MS fatigue? I'm not diagnosed with MS yet but am currently experiencing a second attack of optic neuritis and omg I am sooooooo exhausted! I can't seem to concentrate either so I presume it's all linked? Any ideas?
5509293 tn?1428531475 It seems to me that it is likely a neurological thing so Uhthoffs but what are the probable alternatives as causes other than MS? I ask because neuro seems unphased by this and it really bugs me that I have to think about how to avoid overheating or if I don't then deal with uncomfortable symptoms. Right now I know that I definitely have defined neurological symptoms, consistent syrmptoms in heat but I do not know why or I suspect why but have no confirmation. Any wisdom gratefully heard.
Avatar n tn Welcome, BigFoot. MS and thyroid symptoms can be similar, but people here generally know only about MS. Did you know MedHelp has a thyroid forum as well? http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Thyroid-Disorders/show/7t I suggest you post your question there. (At the top the screen, under the Forums header you can find all the other topics too.
Avatar f tn t produce symptoms, when you do have symptoms, of MS. There are few causes of cervical lesions, especially, other than MS. You don't seem to need a stronger MRI--I think what you need is a stronger neuro. I urge you to follow up on this and to keep in touch here. We'll do our best for you.
Avatar f tn MS typically would not cause the same relapsing symptoms; worsening of pre-existing symptoms can occur, but by definition in MS, different symptoms appear with each episode i.e. if you are having the exact same symptoms during two separate episodes, MS becomes less likely. I am not sure what you mean by the term dizziness. When some people use the term dizziness, they often mean vertigo, or room-spinning. Others mean a light-headed, whoozy feeling.
