Common Questions and Answers about Mri scan neck image

mri-scan

Avatar m tn A cervical MRI is an image of the neck. The Pancoast tumor occurs below the neck. If the image includes some thoracic vertebrae, then some abnormalities in this area can be observed. If you have some symptoms, then perhaps an investigation is in order. Stay positive.
Avatar n tn i had mri scan of my brian 3 weeks ago and now want me to have another with the dye injected first . does this mean they have found somehing wrong ?
396621 tn?1202094714 was told i had a sprained shoulder , never got better , then ac joint , then rotator cuff ,kept telling them the neck hurt they ignored me . finally got mri of shoulder and neck . had c3/4 herniation straight back into spinal cord . spinal cord was 75% pinched . had anterior fusion on 10/29/07 . have had severe pain ever since .
Avatar n tn i HAVE A BULDGING DISC IN MY NECK AND THE MRI SHOWED WHITE SPOTS ON MY SHOULDER IN DIFFERENT PLACES. wHAT ARE THESE?
Avatar m tn I had a bad auto accident in Nov and after x-rays and CTon my neck A MRI was recomended. My family doc put me off work and told me not to put myself in any position to slip and fall ao hit in the head. The MRI results show the following. APdiameter of the canal at 2-3 is only 11mm. There is a reversal of normal Lordosis. moderate narrowing of the CSF space around the cord and all levels 2-7 have moderate canal narrowing along with foramina narrowing.
Avatar n tn I have heard that most bone metastasis from breast cancer are osteolytic and might not show up well on a bone scan. Is this true? I have been having pain in my pelvis and my family doctor ordered an MRI of my lower spine which was normal, but told me that an MRI of my pelvis was overkill. The pain has has not gone away and I cannot get in to see my oncologist for another month. I feel like I have "cried wolf" so many times with aches and pains that the doctors brush me off now.
Avatar m tn Hi, I recently had an MRI after having tremors/weakness in my left hand. Is there anything to indicate the cause of this on the MRI photos attached below? I've also had headaches and neck pain for 4 years. Avatar n tn I would also ensure that the damage is only restricted to the cervical area of c-6/7 and not elsewhere as well. Just remember, Xray, CT scan, and MRI are all different, and definitely remember you don't deserve to live in pain, so persistance with prpoer diagnosis and treatment is important!
Avatar m tn Is there a test were i can find out if there is infact a nerve being pinched. And i know my MRI and ct scan came back normal but is there a chance that the pressure of my cerebral fluid is to high causing these pains and pressure?
Avatar f tn Hi all. I recently had a back mri scan with the use of contrast dye as I had a discectomy November 2018 . I paid for the scan image on cd but haven’t had the results yet. Obviously I’m not medically trained so have no idea what the images look like however I wondered if anyone know what the few blobs are on a image that are next to the spine? As they came back as a white glow.
Avatar m tn I just have been diagnosed by Transient Osteoporosis, after MRI scan. Should I take a second opinion? with different doctor, hospital. Symptoms: From over 10 years, I always have had a feeling of little discomfort at left hip, but this feeling only come a few times (maybe 2-3 times) during a year. No treatment was required, not even pain killer was required (NOT SURE IF THIS RELATED TO) to this diagnose.
Avatar n tn I know because I have your problems, the floaters, the flashes with shape, and the trails. I took an MRI, blood scan, and numerous eye tests and have seen many, many doctors, all turned out normal. my neuro opthamologist finally diagnosed the problem as palinopsia and told me to be under observation for the next 5 mths.
Avatar n tn my wife had a mri scan on her neck the result came back as follows mri on the C- spine showd minor degenerative changes with a normal spinal cord there disc lesion at C6/C7 which corrugates the postrior longitudinal ligament by the spinal cord .
Avatar n tn The MRI can also evaluate other structures such as the optic nerves and rule out an optic neuritis. The MRI image is enhanced by using the contrast and there should be no long lasting side effects. For now, I believe that worrying will really not help, and I hope that the MRI can be done soon and the results available. A neurologist referral is indeed warranted and I believe a little more prodding from your present doctors can make the persuasion. Regards and God bless.
7948950 tn?1421652729 Here is the other mri scan that I have. You can see a bit more of it. It also shows how my neck curve is "straightening". Just trying to find answers as to why I'm having so many symptoms. Any advice would be great! Thank you!
Avatar n tn t see anything so he ordered a mri wich showed some spots in my brain but no optic nerve swelling. went to a nuro guy that orderd mri in neck and spin to rule out ms. Now I just got a mra and I'm seeing a retina guy tomorrow morning. Don't know what he's going to find if the other guy didn't see anything. It's been about a week since I've seen the blue flashing light but I've been having some white flashes in both eyes not bad. Vision seem off or something.
703821 tn?1231722095 Thank you, The audiologist did not like the MRI that was done nor the CT scan and he is the one that is getting the ball rolling with the team of specialists(neurotologist, ENT specialist, neurologist-neck, neurosurgeon). In the few tests that they did, they found the things that I had mentioned in the post and I am waiting further testing and diagnosis. What I have been hearing and reading about, led me to believe it was more than what has been already diagnosed.
Avatar m tn Radiation Risk for CT scan: CT emits a powerful does of radiation, in some cases equivalent to about 200 chest x-rays, or the amount most people would be exposed to from natural sources over 7 years. That dose can alter the makeup of human tissue and create free radicals, molecules that can wreak havoc on human cells. Your body can often repair that damage--but not always. And When it doesn't, the damage can lead to cancer.
Avatar n tn Brain scan with axial T1, axial PD T2 fat-saturation. C-spine scan with sagittal Ti and T2 plus axial graded echo. REPORT: Multiple small nodes are seen in the neck, particularly in the left anterior triangle. These are not large enough to be particularly worrisome. Brain appears normal without evidence of mass, abnormal enhancement, abnormal signal, or abnormal vascularity.
Avatar n tn Echo and CA++ Scan show 0% chance of cardiac event. MRI of head/neck shows 70% occlusion right internal carotid. SPEC scan normal. CT angiography show stenosis. So, here's the question. Can the level of fatigue I am experiencing be due to the carotid stenosis and yet not show any brain dysfunction on the MRI, CT or SPEC scan?
Avatar f tn I can understand your confusion. Both MRI and CT scan can be used to screen for an aneurysm/dilatation. MRI is a safer option as it does not expose a patient to radiation, but the quality of image is poor as compared to CT scan (which exposes a patient to radiation). In case of doubt, CT scan imaging is done. So, yes, it is possible that a MRI is unable to catch a small aneurysm or gives a false image of an aneurysm/dilatation.

Avatar m tn The vice versa is true for MRI. MRI can produce images in any plane but CT scan cannot. CT scan uses X-ray imaging whereas MRI uses radio waves and magnets. Radiation exposure is moderate in CT scan and there is no radiation exposure in MRI. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else. Take care!
Avatar f tn I might not be able to have an MRI because of dental work (metal post under crowned tooth). I had the CT scan today. If they find something that needs further investigation or if the image wasn't clear enough, I will ask about having an MRI.
