Mri scan neck lump

Common Questions and Answers about Mri scan neck lump

Avatar f tn If the pain persists, you may ask to see an orthopedist and also have an MRI and/or CT scan. Xrays do not shwo everything and are not always reliable. The MRI and CT scan can show if it is a muscle, bone, tendon or ligament. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Everything came back normal but there is a very obvious lump so I asked for a CT scan. They ordered a CT scan of my neck and left clavicle. Nothing was mentioned in the report about the lump!! They only talked about slightly swollen nodes in my neck. The whole reason the scanned my clavicle in the first place was to look at the lump but nothing was said about it... my primary doctor just brushed it off and didn't do anything further.
Avatar f tn I am a 28 year old female with a large 6 cm rubbery lump on my neck. My dr said she doesn't think it's my thyroid. I have been feeling tired and dizzy alot lately and having trouble concentrating and have tunnel vision from time to time. My dr ordered an mri, but never mentioned cancer, but I have a family history of it. No pain in the lump but I can feel it there sometimes. It seems to change in size but not sure.
Avatar f tn If this doctor is not listening, then consult another. At least a CT scan or a MRI of the lump should be done. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn I noticed the appearance of the lump on teh right side of my coccyx in December 07 but have had the lump on my neck and supraclavicular area for 2 years. The CT Scan and MRI both says that I have "Stage 2 Level 2 lumph nodes varing in size between .5 centimeters to 1 centimeters" (if this makes any sense) I think that the supraclavicular one is .8 centimeters.
4338916 tn?1353028729 i really think u need to demand a ct scan or mri scan and see what the results show up then take it from there . i cant say what the lump is but you need to really get it checked .

Avatar f tn In Dec 2006 i had surgery at C7 where the neurosurgeon shaved a lumpy growth of bone away to decompress a nerve root causing pain, tingling down my right arm.He used a posterior approach but i now have bad pain in my neck on the LEFT side where a hard 'lump' under the skin has formed. I have been told this is 'scar tissue' and am having physio therapy at last on it.
Avatar f tn Either it is a bony lump or it is a cyst or abscess that is causing pain. A CT scan of the area should be done if the X-rays are inconclusive. Since it developed overnight, it could be an abscess or cyst or an intervertebral disc herniation or bulging. Hence it is important to first find out whether the lump is superficial or from the bone. It is difficult to comment beyond this.
502693 tn?1249151446 I went back to the hospital to day for my ultrasound scan for this large lump on my neck, the lady who took the ultrasound said she could not see anythin and that i might need further tests done such as an mri scan, I wonder what this could be, could it be curvture of the spine a dowagers hump does that show up on an ultrasound?
Avatar n tn A big lump in my face has swollen up. It feels like a ridge of muscle or tissue about half an inch under my cheekbone (zygomatic arch) and two inches in from my left ear. Not really painful but just feels weird and have expereinced numb tingly feelings inb the past couple of months. But I only noticed this lump about 2 weeks ago. Doc says it's just fibrous tissue or possibly swollen lymph tissue (my gums have been irritated/slightly infected recently).
Avatar f tn How does the ultrasound technician have the authority to order a CT scan? On what basis was the recommendation to have the CT? Were there unusual characteristics showing up on the ultrasound? Have there been any actual thyroid hormone tests done? You should have had Free T3 and Free T4, which are both thyroid hormones, as well as a TSH which is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid to produce hormones. Those are "standard" whenever a thyroid condition is suspected.
Avatar m tn I had a bad auto accident in Nov and after x-rays and CTon my neck A MRI was recomended. My family doc put me off work and told me not to put myself in any position to slip and fall ao hit in the head. The MRI results show the following. APdiameter of the canal at 2-3 is only 11mm. There is a reversal of normal Lordosis. moderate narrowing of the CSF space around the cord and all levels 2-7 have moderate canal narrowing along with foramina narrowing.
Avatar f tn Hi, Brain tumours usually cause one or more neurological symptoms like headache , numbness, vision problems etc . Please get the lump checked . It could also be a cyst. Please go for a CT scan and MRI brain to come to the diagnosis . Please consult a neurologist for the same . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !
Avatar n tn My doctor will also have me do an MRI scan before he does a biopsy. I noticed yesterday another lump is beginning to form on my other armpit. My doctor has already concluded I do not have scabies, since the antibiotics do not make the rash, itching, and hot flashes go away. Do you think the hot flash could be caused by an increase in body temperature to combat an infection? Do lympoma's also cause these same symptoms? Thank you for your help!
Avatar f tn At my follow-up with my GP today, he asked if they discussed the abnormalities in my CT scan. It seems there is a lump in my left breast. My gp has ordered a mamo, ultrasound and mri. I am 50 years old and my last mamo was 13 months ago. How worried should I be?
Avatar n tn hi my husband recently developed a lump to the right side of his neck it is slightly larger than pea size and he has no signs of infection ie cold flu or anything that would suggest swollen glands .
Avatar n tn Is it that your neck is swelled, or is there actually a lump? A lump in that area could be a swollen lymph node which could be caused by many things.
Avatar n tn my wife had a mri scan on her neck the result came back as follows mri on the C- spine showd minor degenerative changes with a normal spinal cord there disc lesion at C6/C7 which corrugates the postrior longitudinal ligament by the spinal cord .
Avatar m tn i have a 1 cm lump/bump/nodule on the left side of the throat right below the thryoid cartilage. My doctor ordered an ultrasound.During the ultrasound ,the technician told me she saw the lump on the right side of the screen. Now the results say its on the left side. I am confused. Does the ultrasound show the images in reverse or do i have another lump on the right side. I cannot afford another ultrasound and the radiologist who checked the reports say its on the left. Why did the u.
769989 tn?1235009550 Welcome to the forum! While I can't answer your question (sorry), the "lump in thyroid area" caught my eye. Have they done an ultrasound of your thyroid, a CT scan of your neck, anything like that? That sounds like it could be a goiter. I don't know, of course. It could even be an enlarged lymph node, for that matter. Point is, have they done any further testing to figure out what that is, in particular?
Avatar f tn In may I had a miscarrige (11wks), end of july I felt the lump in my neck. Can thyroiditis occure after miscarrige and if so can the nodule be a sign of it and will it disappear spontaneously after the thyroid is cured? I really want to get rid of it, (troubling swallowing, ear pain) is surgery an option? Again thank you!
