methadone program

We live in California and right now all services are being cut including the methadone program. Think when they combined the offices they are just overwhelmed with the number of patients. But some of the counselors, especially the one she has, can be really harsh and not very understanding of physical and mental issues aside from drugs. My daughter has been an addict since age 11. It is very hard for her to function as the drugs did alot of damage early on.

My son just started the suboxin program and he throws up every time he takes on. Why?

I was kicked off the methadone programe for take clonazapam I was on Methadone program for year and 1/2 so my methadone doctor kicked me out of the program and did not wean me off so my family doctor put me on morphine so I would not go thru withdrawal how long should it take me to do this and be withdrawal free

Hi everybody I have just started dating this man and become very attracted to him, he is warm, caring, affectionate and kind. He dropped the “I’m on methadone program” bomb on me after the first week and now I’m seriously not sure whether to continue with him. He has opened up about being a heroin addict on and off for 3 years and has been on the meth program now for 6 months.

Hello, I am looking for someone who is or has been in a methadone maintenance program while pregnant. I've clean and sober for awhile now but I'm still on methadone and now that I'm pregnant I can't get off of it. Just looking for some positive or useful knowledge. Thanks!

I cant afford this life anymore and im never happy and i refuse to go back to IV or herion, So i called and made an appointment to get on the methadone program the 21 day taper, my question is if this will be painless ive searched and searched everyone is on MMT which im not into i dont want to get addicted to meth. I know there is alot more to addiction than detox trust me im working on finding a physcologist right now too.

By law you can't take pain killer like oxy and be in a methadone program. Benzos either. Since methadone is a pain killer , why don't you try not taking it? Since you are on methadone program you must have issues with use. Oxy is addicting and abused by many too. You can 't do both. They can kick you out of the program if you continue the oxy and test positive when they pee test you.

m afraid to admit to ANY medical professional that I have an addiction problem as I DO NOT want it going on any premanent records, messing with my benefits, insurance, ect. Any advice? Just curious as to how the methadone program works and if it helps with getting of the pain meds. I appreciate your time.

but i also saw a program to get off methadone...Its an outpatient program that really works. They give u meds to decrease withdrawals and are MUCH better than being hooked on methadone..

OP would need an evaluation and acceptance into a methadone treatment program and acceptance into it to qualify for a methadone program- however they do not provide methadone for ongoing chronic medical conditions.

Methadone is a very strong opiate and you will have to come off that eventually too and the wd's are brutal. Are you doing anything about aftercare?

I am on 3mgs of Klonopin a day, I start the methadone program on Monday (its friday now).. im afraid if i abruptly stop the benzo's ill have withdraw from benzos along with the terrible way i feel being sick and all... I heard its super dangerous... I actually ODed on 60mgs methadone, 2 mgs klonopin, 0.1 mg Clonodine, and Phenegren... BAD COMBO....was it the other medications or the Klonopin that made me OD?

Im weening myself of the Klonopins (were starting me on a beta blocker for anxiety due to the methadone program), I take 0.1 mg Clonodine, and 200-400mgs Seroquel everynight. Ive heard that it will make you somewhat tired. But do they mean tired by the time you go to bed, or tired all throughout the day and falling asleep wherever you go. Im just afraid of being sedated. If i feel messed up, does that mean the does of methadone is too high, and if that happens what should i do?

Unfortunately, researchers say that they cannot distinguish the difference between withdrawls from 30 mg of methadone or 3 mg of methadone. And that fits my experience. Its a very nasty critter to get away from....but it can be done....

Hi, I am not a methadone patient but I am a very concerned girlfriend of a 30 year old male who has been on the methadone program for the last few years.

Before that, I was in a Methadone program for 4 years, at a dose of 130 mgs per day. I started the Suboxone in February. In June, I tested positive for Methadone. The doctor sent out the urine to be retested at a lab, and it was still positive. He dismissed this, and did not kick me out of the program. Now, in November, I tested positive again. I have not had any Methadone since February. I have read that Methadone stays in your liver and fat cells.

the key to having methadone really help you is dont just switch drugs.....work a program to get yourself well so when you go off it you can stand on your own 2 feet....N/A is a good program they also offer free consoling at the clinics ....you need to work on your addiction wile on the program...you also want to make your time on methadone as short as possible the withdrawals are not pleasant and the shorter the time and lower the dose the better.....

He said he is getting help and is now and has been on the methadone program since Feb..He seems very confident with the treatment and I feel he will be fine. Any way my question is (i know your not suppose to take any one elses medications) my son is going to be flying up north with me on Friday and we come back on Sunday afternoon, he is not sure if the clinic will give him a to go treatment. i have a friend who has some methadone pills.

hi and welcome, i am not that familiar with zopiclone, but i do believe it can be addictive, and that it shouldnt be used with methadone, at least not without expert medical advice, someone with more experience will most likely be able to advise you, are you on a methadone program?

the more i had the more i took. well today i started a 21 detox program at a local methadone clinic. i started with 30 mg today and for the next 2 days. from there i taper down daily until day 21. then i am finished~ the counselers at the program all tryied to get me to sign on for the 180 day treatment cause it has a higher success rate. I AM READY< AND I WANT TO BE DONE WITH PILLS!!!!! i know that this is still gonna be hard, as far as the physical withdrawls.

No one here will probably answer this because we are not Doctors and answering this is too close to giving medical advice. If you are on methadone, I am hoping it is prescribed. Ask your Doctor this question, or at least a pharmacist.

i have just been told that my dr will no longer prescibe me methadone because of one dirty ua dosent he have to give me some kind of taper

after almost 3 years, we made the decision to enroll in a methadone maintenance program. Now, almost a year later, our life is structured....we are very thankful to be free of opiates, now we want to be free of methadone. Since August 2007, we have been slowly detoxing from 110 mg., we are down to 44 mg., our last dose will be March 6...not too long. We are both so excited (and, of course a little scared).
