The reason I have been allowed to stay at true clinic is because I state that I am an addict to pain mess and the side effect of methadone is pain relief. The minute I say I am only taking methadone for pain relief they kick me out. I can't afford the $400 dollars they charge either. I need a prescripion and my family Dr. Won't have ANYTHING to do with me. I travel all the time and am forces to save bottles and works around my allowed takeout amount.
Benzos are not narcotics; they are a different class of drugs. Xanax and methadone shouldn't be taken together because the combination can cause respiratory distress. Where do you get your methadone? I'd be more worried about getting tested from your methadone provider. If you have Xanax in your system, they may drop you and a CT detox of methadone will be pretty miserable.
At this point I have tried everything so I am shooting this straight from the hip.. (pun intended) Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get Methadone prescribed. I have not asked my primary directly for this. He dose give me Vicodin however I have tried Methadone and it dose not make me "high" when I take it at a low dose and I get a large amount of relief. thank for anyone that will reply with honest help. Also I am very aware of the addictive nature of Methadone.

Hey All, I am on 85mg methadone a day for oxy addiction and I have constant tooth pain. My teeth are pretty rotten from years of neglect. I am seeing a dentist now but repairs will take awhile. I need to know what will work for pain for me. I have a very high tolerance for opiates. I have had a drug called "toradol" but made me very sick. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
My Dr was able to give me my prescription early, she increased my Methadone from 10 mgs daily to 15 mgs daily and that has helped my pain. Fortunately, I was able to find the 5 mg tablets at the Walgreen's near me and spoke to the pharmacist, she agreed to ordre my Methadone every month so I could feel more at ease about getting my pain meds filled every month.
I have several methadone left from my old prescription. Would I be able to change and take the methadone instead of the OxyContin until I can talk to my dr on Monday. I was told the change was due to something from my blood work showing up wrong?
But my DOC ended up being opiates by the time I was 18. By the time I was 20, I was in a methadone program. After about two years in the program I developed an addiction to benzo's as well. Eventually I was basically forced to quit methadone and go off cold turkey, I went from 100mg to 60 and then went CT from there. This was in Oct 2009. Methadone is a very strong opiate and you will have to come off that eventually too and the wd's are brutal. Are you doing anything about aftercare?

yes but only for less 5 days i came off of oxycodone and I was clean for 2 weeks then I found some methadone i had hidden I toke it friday sat sunday then I took oxycodone on mon and tues I tried to take suboxtone wed and I felt like crap so I took more methadone yesterday and this morning 20 milligrams do you know how long it take to get adicted to methadone
vicki is spot on about methadone and xanax. I have been on methadone for 7 years and every doctor I`ve ever talked to has said that methadone and xanax is a bad mix. It is also true that tapering is the safest thing at his level. He needs to get to a much lower dose if he wants to go CT. Methadone withdrawls last a long time and the higher the dose, the worse the withdrawls are. Also check out the Thomas Recipe.
Any one else out there on methadone matinence or have been while pregnant? I'm 38 weeks on Monday, and I'm steadily getting more anxious for delivery. My dose is 120mg daily, I'm being induced on the 23rd and I'm so nervous my little guy will have withdrawals :( Some babies do well and go home, some have to stay and detox. Anyone else have experience with this? Thank you!
I live in Bermuda and am currently on the only methadone program that is available here. However, I am a professional who does not like to go to the meth clinic every day to get dosed as our island is only 21 square miles long with a population of 65,000 people. Sooner or later word will get back to my job and I am at high risk of losing it as I have clients who are HNWI (High Net Worth Individuals) who would not appreciate my background.
