Hi, welcome to the forum, seroquel is known to be associated with weight gain. There is significant weight gain is seen, in such cases usually other anti psychotics are prescribed. The weight gaining effect of this drug will not persist after discontinuation. Any associated condition should be looked for. If there is a change in voice (Voice becomes dusky), weight gain, intolerance to cold etc. You need to get your T3, t4 and TSH level checked as it may be in initial phase.

I am SOO miserable- not only because of the weight gain, but the methadone has definitely given me a number of negative side effects. The program that I go to makes it very difficult if you tell them you want to come off or want to try and taper down… They don't really help you they just say OK well will lower your dose whenever you want. There is no like taper down program, and it *****! I went down to 75mgs a few weeks back, and was SOOO sick, i had to go back up to 85.

I have heard from many people that methadone makes you gain weight. the doctor at the clininc and my psychiatrist and my primary care doctor all insit that it doesnt... they say it makes you crave sugar and most people gain the weight because they werent eating right before they started the program, and the done makes you crave sugar. Ive been on and off methadone for years, currently been clean from methadone for almost a year. Anyways I always gained weight while I was using methadone, this last time I gained 40lbs in 6months. I also had terrible swelling that would occur in my legs and feet, which I was told was associated with methadone. It also makes me tired which I can handle that one but not the weight gain, I have had problems with my back in the past and when I put on weight my back hurts. I have nerve pain in my face and just pain in my face, what would be the other options I can talk to the dr about today? Would another pill from that line of pills be the same? I am going to talk to him about treatment of the other pain in my face if he don't want to then send me to a pain specialist that can treat all the pain.

I didn't have any side effects except pregnancy, lol but some people may have them although not sure about the specific ones you asked about.

Depending on how old you are it could just be a weight thing. Normally early 20s you gain weight and again in mid-40s where it becomes hard to lose the weight. (I'm too lazy to check your status to see if you have your age so those things may not apply).
