Methadone and ultram

Common Questions and Answers about Methadone and ultram

methadose

Avatar f tn I am taking methadone 5 mg tablets 3 times per day and Ultram 100 mg in the morning, 50 mg in the afternoon and 100 mg extended release in the evening. The reason for the mixed up dosage on the ultram is I am trying to get off of the extended release due to the cost. The problem I have is that before when I was taking 100 mg Ultram ER twice a day with the methadone as listed above my pain was controled, but since I have tried going down on it I have pain all the time again.
Avatar m tn so he oncologist gave him a subscription for methadone to control the pain more evenly over the day along with a script for Ultram for breakthrough pain. my husband was told to take 10mg methadone 3x a day along with the 160mg of oxy for the first three days until the methadone started working and then to taper off the oxy and onto the ultram. So the questions are: is taking this much narcotics safe?
Avatar f tn I am going through opiate withdrawals and have an unfilled scrip for ultram. Will it help with the withdrawals?
348629 tn?1212325673 There is a condition which can develop where you get serotonin overload (called serotonin syndrome) and it can be very very serious. Methadone is a different kind of drug from ultracet, so i don't think there would be the same complication. FYI though, I was on Effexor XR 300mg and the max dose of tramadol (active ingredient in ultram) 400mg for two month and I did not have any problems. Your doc should be aware of this though and monitor you for symptoms of too much serotonin.
Avatar f tn I quit taking methadone at the beginning of the month and started taking the ultram to help with the methadone withdrawals so I could make it through the holiday. I took my last ultram yesterday around 8pm so it's now been almost 30 hrs and I feel like crap. I can't sleep and my legs are killing me. Thinking about calling off of work tomorrow...
479459 tn?1246742019 s were hoping pain pts and addicts would thankfully accept this ultram (to protect their licenses) and are finding out pretty quickly that it is both useless and worse to detox from. I'm sorry you let them put you on it. Your dose is EXTREMELY high. On a positive note, it attaches to kappa and is a weak mu so at least the length of time for your w/d's will be less.
Avatar m tn It is easier to get off Vicodin than ultram (aka tramadol) because tram is synthetic and contains an antidepressant. Like sub and methadone, also synthetic, the withdrawal is long and arduous. Vicodin is the weaker of the narcotic pain meds and detox, although not fun, is over relatively quick. 1 to 2 weeks tops. Tram w/d lasts for months.
Avatar n tn I noticed your comment about Ultram and I want to share with you that it is highly addictive and so many people here suffer because of it. In my honest opinion I feel it wont be long until it is added to the Narcotic list. If you HAVE to take it please make sure to advise your doctor you dont want any more than a 10 day supply at a very low dosage. Please keep in mind that the withdrawals from Ultram (aka Tramadol) are horrific! Take it from someone who knows first hand.
Avatar m tn Tramadol can have worse withdrawals then vicodin and probably even methadone (never did it). Just keep fighting the fight, your almost there!!
Avatar n tn I have been addicted to marijuana, methadone and ultram for the past 25 years. I've been to rehab 3 times in the past 2 years. I am going to try to detox at home and could use some advice. I'm 54 and need help now!!!! I don't feel like I can make another day.
Avatar f tn i was wondering kinda bout the same thing awhile ago and im 16 days clean today and i feel really good and i came off from prolly 600 mgs of ultrams ct i felts pretty crappy the first weak and a half but that friday i went to worok and it like healed me just geting my mind off it gave me tons of energy and i feel normal now this is what id do acually its what i did do i went to the doc and got anti depresents cause ultrams mess up sarotonin lvl and the anti depresents will put it in check t
Avatar m tn but he gave me adivan and a shot and gave me an ultram and norco..by their determination it was withdraw from my ultram that adivan is doing great. I wont take tnose again..
1800740 tn?1324237171 I seen the Doc yesterday and they marvelled at how I have gotten away from the Methadone...and also agreed that the Ultram is not the best, but definetly a huge step in the right direction. I awoke this morning almost feeling like not taking anything, but before symtoms started I wanted to ward it off, yea Iknow cheap excuse....is what it is, but being away fromt he methadone has been nearly painless this way!
Avatar f tn Like the physical withdrawal, it will get better as you get more clean days. And the frequency of those will become less and less as the days go by. You just have to remember that it will get better. I'm withdrawing off vicodin right now. I slowly tapered down, but am still feeling withdrawals from it. I know it feels like it will never end, but I promise you it will and you WILL start to feel better. And before you know it you'll start to feel like your old self again. Hang in there.
Avatar n tn Despite of the many claims of illiterate doctors, Ultram is a synthetic opioid and is the worst-take it from a former user, and many others here can sat the same-Its wd effects are very difficult to handle and considered by people that have use them and other painkillers, that Ultram is the most difficult to w/d and the more painful.
Avatar f tn carrie i am sorry you are going through this right now being pregnant, when you are researching information on suboxone please be aware that there are pro sub sites and sites where people are 100% agaisnt sub, a middle ground is hard to find, medhelp has both ends covered i have been on this drug myself and do not recommend it for people who are ready to stop doing drugs, its a matience drug, not intended for short term used, it was not designed for this, i learned that the hard way, it is jus
372880 tn?1332879487 I have used ultram and norco for several years. My avg intake is 10 50 mg ultram and maybe 60mg norco/day. I have been unsuccessful w/tapering(no willpower) also CT’ed successfully when I was preg 4 yrs ago. That was a hell I don’t wish to relive. I’ve been spinning my wheels for some time now. I am considering a suboxone taper. I am looking for anyone who successfully used suboxone. I’m looking for a relatively quick taper NO MAINTENCE. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Avatar m tn Days 1-3 Ultram about 300-400mg...Days 4-6 Ultram about 250mg, Multivitamins and Magnesium Supplement. Day 7 Ultram again about 400mg, Multivitamins, Magnesium, Exercise, 5 hour energy shot, it was a little rough for some reason, could have been the combination of things. Awoke this morning telling myself...I will not bow...I will not break...I ill do whatever it takes....obviously the Song "I will not bow" by Breaking Benjamin....
449842 tn?1214362266 yea for sure ultram is alot worse than viccs youll and acts as a pain killer/ anti depo so its just that much more addictive and feeling good it sucks when i started doin it everyone told me its fine there not addictive and there only 50 mg pills but yeah w.d.
Avatar f tn I really hope this will help!
Avatar f tn AS for the doctors, i hate to sound so belittling as they are the ones who went to med school, but i believe allot of docs are not aware of addiction and as for Ultram, a lot of docs believe its not an opiate and or habit forming. I was going to the pain clinic for legit pain and all he did was continue to feed my addiction, and i would tell him that i was using more than prescribed, so he wanted me to go on methadone and thank the Lord my dear friends on here told me HECK NO!!!
1203675 tn?1285875434 It contains a synthetic opiate and there is also an anti-depressant quality associated with this drug. So please be VERY careful and if all possible, stop using the Ultram. It could lead to a very nasty addiction, and coming off Ultram is very tough. Good luck to you!
541465 tn?1219427886 Is that safe? The only interaction that i am worried about is the methadone. I was kinda bad and gave all all my klonopins to a friend (at the time she needed it, but I do have seizures so i must take benzo's), All i had let was 1.5 mgs of Klonopin, 0.2mgs Chlonodine, 1 mg ativan (another pill i found with the tramadol)., the 200mg Seroquel ( well right now, i cut them in half i i dont need it), Its hard to pee at the clinic when they have the random urins, and that 50 mg Tramadol.
Avatar n tn To: everyone Hello all. I'm a stage IV cancer patient and I've been using methadone for about three years after going through all the others to treat my pain. Thankfully I've been in remission all that time, but I've still had pain from the cancer, which was in my spine, as well as the drugs I take to prevent the cancer from coming back.
541465 tn?1219427886 I spent 7 days in the icu mixing methadone and xanax. DONT DO IT! Please....
