I've Been on a methadone clinic for four years and have stayed clean now I'm pregnant I was just wondering about others who went through the same

First, many hospitals continue to do circumcision on newborns without any anesthesia-- and nobody complains. Up until 15 years ago, newborns had their chests split open for hear surgery with NO anesthesia-- just paralying drugs-- as the narcotics were thought to be 'too dangerous'. Finally, it cannot be too comfortable having your head squeezed through a tube that is about half of your skull's diameter! Yet nobody worries about THAT pain.

I finally at 18 weeks went to a doctor and told them of my problem, i was then put on methadone, and have been on methadone ever since. There are over 20 pregnant women in the program, methadone is much safer to be on in your situation then ANYTHING ELSE! they know what to do with the baby and know exactly how to help the baby. there has been NO KNOWN NEGATIVE affects to the child, besides withdrawal symptoms. I used until i was 18 weeks....

The Doctors put him on a schedule taking Methadone. He was given .3mg 3x a day for one day, .3mg 2x a day, and so on. As hard as this was for me he turned out fine. I was so worried he was going to die. He's doing well now. By the way, you CAN breastfeed. I wasn't aware of that but the lactation specialist told me it was fine. They judge it by a level system, level 1- level 6. You can breastfeed if it's anything from a level 1- level 3. Subutex is a level 2.

First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy. Even if it was unexpected, what a great reason to get clean for good! Because you've only been on Benzo's consistently for two months, your seizure risk is most likely not what it would be for those using them long-term. I got off Oxy several years ago when I unexpectedly got pregnant. The most important thing is to tell your doctor EVERYTHING.

I dont know the effects of oxy on fetuses, and its likely they will have to give the baby a lil when he is born so he or she dosnt go into withdrawal, but remember its not your fault and God has given you this special blessing for a reason hun. s job is to detox babys coming in addicted to things like heroin methadone and oxy...but she said more and more its pain pills in general it use to be a few a week now it has become an everyday occurrence ....they do there best to keep the babys comfortable using methadone but even at vary slow tritration rates thay watch painfuly as the babys detox she now works in denver so this is country wide .....

I am a 26 year old vet that is a student currently and graduating this May, and my fiance is on methadone and has been for a year and a half...before that she was addicted to oxy's. We have a 6 month old baby that is just amazing, but she had to be in the NICU at the hospital for 2 and half months since my fiance was on 80 mg of methadone during pregnancy. Long story short ever since she has been on methadone my life has been a living hell.

Has anyone in this forum ever given birth to a baby while on methadone? I am 31 weeks pregnant and on methadone. I just wanted some feedback on some of your experience s. I'm pretty much scared to death!

I have gastroparesis, and GERD, and am on methadone maintenance. I noticed I started having problems as soon as I started the Methadone Clinic, 3 yrs ago. I recently had an endoscopy and waiting on the biopsy results. I'm so sick of not being able to eat anything. I'm living off of oatmeal and can't over eat. But it's not over eating because I've been starving. I can only eat a small bowl of oatmeal before I take my methadone and then another small one for lunch.

hi, im currently taking 10mg's of methadone in the Am and 10mg's in the pm, i want so bad to hurry up and be off this before my baby is due in 5more week's, through out my whole pregnancy ive only taking 20mg's total through out a day, my question would be how can i get off the methadone, and since im on such a low dose will my baby be born addicted ...

My daughter will be here in about three months and I was wondering.....where should she sleep? I don't wanna put her in a crib until she gets a little older but what did some of you ladies do? And also I don't wanna have her in bed with me... Well I do but you know lol.....and my last question is about clothes.....what size should I get them? So far I have newborn and 0-3....any advice would help...

I think that depends on you. My 1st was born 12/21 and we took him to family house on Christmas eve and Christmas day. I will admit I didnt let too many people hold him and I made people use hand sanitizer when they did lol.

t start giving my daughter water until she was a few months old, and then it was only a few sips. Breastmilk stimulates babies to have bowel movements, and sugar water on top of it might be enough to make your baby have diarrhea. I'd stick to breastmilk only.

I don't know how long it would take, but if you're asking because you or someone you know has been using while pregnant, you/they really should tell your/their doctor. It's better to be upfront and honest than the baby come out and the dr find out then. If you/they are honest with the dr the dr may be able to help before baby is born.

If he likes baths, you can give him a nice bath and then some lotion. Or if he likes to be held all the time you can try a baby carrier or wrap that way he's snuggled up with you, but you can still use your hands and function.

So, I have a bassinet in my room and and I plan on having my baby sleep in there in our room for the first while. My question is in the nighttime when the babys diaper needs changing did most mommies have these necessities to change them in your room or would you walk and change them on the change table in their room during the night.....??

I had my first child after Christmas but he was due before Christmas and she even recommended that we not take him to the family Christmas gathering and to sit in the back of church, going in and out quickly.

if yu have been using it more than likely baby is already addicted and withdrawals for newborns are terrible...yu need.

It was a slow introduction as our dog is quite hyper, but, we used a wrap that we had my son wrapped in for the first day in hospital and my partner took it home and let the dog sniff it and put it on the floor / lounge / in his lap and would tell the dog 'no' if he came near it so the dog was used to the smell. By the time baby came home it was like the dog didn't even notice him ! I really think that made all the difference.

But she does not know her size! She is 4 years old and still acts like a puppy. I am worried after I have the baby and bring him home she will unintentionally hurt him. She always has to touch her nose on everything. As I'm typing this she is licking the carpet!!

I have three cats and 4 pups and 4 dogs(were trying to find the pups a home) but I'm already 31 weeks along should i worry about my animals reacting badly to my son

I have two dogs that are very clingy to me and my husband. Im ten weeks pregnant and I'm worried that when the baby is born that the dogs will be super jealous of me and my husband attending to our newborn's needs. Anyone have any suggestions that will help them be less clingy and to leave the baby toys and blankets alone once we have the baby?

Non sure it transfers to newborns from father and mother. No one knows if it is genetic or not. I think it is not genetic because I got it out kf nowhere in my 20s. Some claim that they got their in their 40s. It is total madness. And yes it causes sneeze to everyone including children, elderly.

It all depends on your baby, I would ask for mostly 1's and 2's, but my son was born fitting snuggly in newborns, and didn't fit them within 2 weeks of his birth, size 1 fit him just fine from about a week on, so I only got a few packs of newborns this time. At my baby shower I got like 11 size 1's so I'll be exchanging for bigger sizes, just don't open then until you need them!
