Avatar f tn undiagnosed sensitivities to certain grain proteins can be the route to some very serious even deadly diseases including cancer, chronic pain, psychiatric disorders, infertility, liver disease, and osteoporosis. And the frightening list goes on and on. Sensitivity may start in your intestinal tract Experts have known for years that certain whole grains (wheat, rye, barley, spelt, triticale, kamut, and possibly oats) are the cause of celiac disease in some people.

Avatar f tn Soma/Carisoprodol, a muscle relaxant, is used with rest, physical therapy, and other measures to relax muscles and relieve pain and discomfort caused by strains, sprains, and other muscle injuries. The liver and kidneys help remove Soma from the body. If you have liver or kidney disease, your healthcare provider may need to monitor your response to Soma more closely. Cheers!
Avatar m tn have broadened a warning about possible liver problems with Cymbalta, a drug used to treat depression and pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. "Postmarketing reports of liver injury (including hepatitis and cholestatic jaundice) suggest that patients with pre-existing liver disease who take [Cymbalta] may have an increased risk for further liver damage," says the FDA. Cymbalta's labeling previously noted possible liver problems.
Avatar f tn s (sometimes up to 4 at a time), I also take other meds for heart issues (coronary artery disease, 1 heart attack and 1 stent, as well as tachycardia including svt at times) as well as numerous GI problems including multiple ulcers and a history of GI bleed. She said that they never put patients on Lyrica and Neurontin together, and certainly never at these high of dosages. I've been taking them at these dosages for at least 5 years.
Avatar m tn This was not due to injury. Should I be concerned? I read this condition is a symptom of both liver and heart disease. I have an appt w/ my doctor tomorrow to discuss. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts / explainations?
217229 tn?1192762404 OK. I went to this VERY nice Doctor in Anchorage. At first she let me know that she "THOUGHT" I had bad posture, was overweight and had carpal tunnel which was what was causing my pain - but that she was going to run some tests. I went back to the hotel thinking --- woohoooooo! I can lose 25 lbs --- I'll be a slimmer me... I'll sit up straight --- and I'll get those gellie keyboard thingies... Wooohooooo! I CAN FIX THIS....
Avatar n tn I am taking 750mg of lyrica twice a day and my stomache is so bloated and I'm in so much pain. I drink also I drank 1/2 pint of vocka and a pint. I cut back alot on my drinking, But is that whats causing my stomache to be bloated and if so what can I do? I'm taking the lyrica like this for opaite withdrawls like swim.
Avatar f tn I take Codeine Sulfate - no Tylenol in it - 60-90 mg daily. I was taking Oxycodone but it was too strong for me to function well on.
Avatar f tn All of the meds you are on are very common meds for treatment really. Most likely the ribavirin is what is keeping you up at night - unfortunately it's one of the problems we have. While we should always try to take the minimum of meds because of our liver damage - you have to remember we live in a real world and we gotta do what we gotta do.
Avatar f tn Yours are not nearly as high as I have seen. And a person can have elevated liver enzymes and not show liver damage. Without more tests, and the best is a liver biopsy, there is no way your doctor can know anything about your liver condition. There are routine blood tests that are helpful in assessing the extent of the liver damage. Platelet count is generally low in patients with cirrhosis so a platelet count would be helpful.
Avatar n tn I have saver headaches, jaw pain , and TMJ. I take Lyrica and it helps most times. I find that I need to increase the Lyrica medication very often. I take a large amount of Magnisium because my left part of my face is tight and hard to open. MY question is, I do not understand my pain, Do my pain originate in my jaw or my head? In the past I had symptoms of Try mingle Neuralgia. Could that contribute to my facial pain? Why does the Lyrica wont work all the time?
1041953 tn?1259072690 m wondering if my escalating uneasiness has something to do with the missing Lyrica. I did refill it, and can likely answer my own question once I pick it up and am back on schedule with it, but I'm wondering if anyone can offer any insight in the meantime. Thanks! Be well..... PEACE - and I really mean, "PEACE"! Those of my generation bantered the word around like we do "Hey!
Avatar m tn One thing I am hearing from my Doctor , oh I am currently seeing carrol leevy UMDNJ sammy davis liver institute And supposably the best if not one of in the nation. and now he's telling me that not only blood transmition but also bodily fluids which has me very worried. I was married had a fantastic sex life have two great kids and no disease has been spread to any of them thank god. But I still worry.
Avatar f tn When I first brought this to my Drs (Gastrointerologist) attention after stopping 4 months ago he did all the tests I asked for and all was good. Ultrasound, CT of liver and blood work. But now, 4 months later I feel all these symptoms that I did not have then except for some stomach pain. He doesn't think necessary to repeat even though I am NOW symptomatic. He does not think my liver could be damaged from one month of very heavy drinking.
Avatar f tn Or you can waste your time and money on quackery risk your health from that pseudo science and develop liver damage to cirrhosis and succumb to end stage liver disease with all it's horrible symptoms.
Avatar f tn and Most lab work is unremarkable, (with exception to slightly elevated liver enzymes-he has fatty liver disease, and the testosterone and high prolactin-the pituitary gland was unremarkable). They have ruled out MS, Myasthenia Gravis, mitochondrial disease, porphyria, paraneoplastic syndrome, heavy metals poisoning, Guillian-Barre, and varius other diseases, but without a hint of what the cause may be.
Avatar m tn The doctor put me on Zanaflex and that helps take them away and also helps with sleep. As you know with this disease sleep is hard to come by. Have you tried the sympathic blocks for the RSD? My first one did help but after that they did not help as much I ended up having six of them. As for as the spinal cord stimulator not all people can get them. I just went to the doctor yesterday and met concerning this. They place you on a trail for 7 days to see if you can take the box.
Avatar n tn Thanks. I don't work and my husband was unemployed for 2 yrs. and we went thru our 401k and maxed credit cards. Now that he has a job we probably won't qualify, but I will definitely check out this possibility. I feel guilty considering we now have an income, but on the edge of bankruptcy... Who isn't now? Thanks for the info!
Avatar f tn I am really trying to see if my sister's condition has anything to do with her being given this shot. Last time she was given it was April 2013, she is currently in the hospital fighting for her life!! So with all the warnings about if you have a liver disease you shouldn't be taking this shot and the doctors are advising her liver isn't functioning and for it to be as far gone as it is, if she had come to hospital a year ago they wouldn't have been able to do anything!!
Avatar m tn Finally, just saw my 1st Rheum this past Dec 09. RX Lyrica instantly. And Lyrica has not exactly been my saving grace. Still have days with bad pain. RX Soma too. I'd been taking @ night before/after bed. Called Rheum. about Lyrica and not helping so much with the pain, told me I can/should take my Soma during the day but it has a "sleepy" affect to it. *sighs* Last thing I want to do is drive a car or be sleepy during the day cause of Soma.
Avatar f tn Autoimmune disorders Sometimes a body’s immune system may begin to attack the liver or bile ducts causing inflammation and scarring which leads to a progressive form of liver disease. Examples of liver diseases believed to be caused by the immune system are primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC), primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) and autoimmune hepatitis.
Avatar n tn If your report says that your bilirubin is high, then you probably have jaundice (jaundice is the accumulation of bilirubin under the skin) and some type of liver disease that needs further testing and diagnosis. My two cents. Take care and God bless.
Avatar f tn I was going thru a bottle of vodka every 2 to 3 days. I started having discomfort in the liver area with nausea fatigue and dry mouth. Had an lft done all normal. Still felt sick and went to the hospital lft normal except elevated bilirubin ultrasound normal. Had another lft couple of weeks after bilrubin down to 1.3. And another normal ultrasound. I still deal with right quadrant pain fatigue and nausea.
